Good deal! Remember that Symphony and Explorer have different terminals. The Symphony terminal is more like the new terminal in Galveston. It was very nice. Both terminals were very organized, however.
day 1 should be the best night in the MDR IMO. i can get worse from there but they need to make a great impression day 1! this is why we cruise celebrity no slacking at all in the MDR!
JJ you should have asked for seconds on your prime rib dinner. They’re more than happy to accommodate you. I’m sure that’s what I’m having next week when we board.
Well this time I'm tired of having to go to the buffet when I first board a ship. So I seeked out a quiet place for me and my wife to eat once we get on board our ship Navigator of the seas in december. We will be going to hook when we get on board and not to the buffet with everybody else on the ship. Nothing like going and having a sit-down meal when you first forward the ship and not have to deal with $5,000 other passengers. That is why I booked a specialty restaurant for lunch seek out hidden places where you can eat I'm bored on invarkation day so you don't have to deal with everybody else who is wanting to eat at the same time at the buffet.
Jeff Dinter, I can empathise with that sentiment. Embarkation day tends to be the busiest day on any cruise-ship, but I have found that the Windjammer (or its equivalent) on the Pool/Lido Deck (or its equivalent) can be very convenient with a wide variety of dishes, complimentary teas and coffee 24/7, and extensive seating area. I like to observe the patterns hour by hour and day by day to choose the off-peak times to go. E.g., going early as soon as a venue opens (e.g., Fitness Centre, Solarium, Main Dining Room, showrooms/theatres, or Windjammer) often means getting the best of all the dishes and being ahead of the majority of other guests. I also noticed, in the video about the Wonder of the Seas (that the Wagners presented), that the Windjammer provides extended seating areas that go around the entire deck! So I think that the cruise-lines continue to listen to guests' feedback and continue to respond and to improve their designs on new ships, as well as successfully retrofitting the older ships.
Thanks for sharing you guys, it was fun, I kind of wanted to see more, especially since you took the video today and posted, I hope you do more throughout the week. Were on the explorer in Dec. can't wait, its been too long. Enjoy
Hey @AllThingsWagner I just stumbled on your video and enjoyed it. However, I want to point out a risky thing in your video. I don't know if you can edit after it's posted, but just know that when paused, there's a great deal of information available during embarkation.
The middle plug looks like an RJ-45 outlet, or an outlet for an Ethernet (network) cable. I am curious if it would work, just because you are in a suite. After further review, it could also be a phone jack, just can’t tell from the video.
You on our favorite ship💛 Was Mario heading to Symphony? Or a turnaround on Explorer...I know he been on her for awhile. We had that corner balcony on Liberty. Hubby kept hitting head on the metal arm. But your glass door is better, we had just a window on ours. First day onboard....always creamy macNcheese in buffet and creme brule for dinner desert.
He was headed through the back-to-back line, so I think he was staying on a while. It appears he likes that size ship maybe better than the Oasis class. It also appeared maybe his daughter was with him. They favored a great deal, and she looked about the right age, but he never talks about his personal life, so I'm not for sure. He was in a JS right down the hall from us.
Hilton Airport Miami Blue Lagoon. Here’s the vlog with the hotel tour. They have a free airport shuttle, so that saves on transportation. Explorer of the Seas Cruise Vlog | MIAMI HOTEL REVIEW ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PyRietD56tw.html
Thanks Deb! The outfit I wore this day was from Amazon, which is where I get most of my vacation clothes! Affiliate links are in the description box. I also get items from Shein and a secondhand website called ThredUp.
It is always exciting getting onboard the ship and having an aft balcony is even better. Loved your stripped outfit Sherri, super cute on you!! Thanks for the fun video ⚓️
Sad, but true. I will say we didn't find that true on Wonder. Could be a supplier issue, or the newer ships have something better figured out. Even with that, we certainly NEVER went hungry. LOL.
I expect more from a military man. Air Force likes to make fun of Marines but at least we know better than to wear a hat in a restaurant, we're not brigands.
