The coral reef is a great find but, most of the "coral" being seen there are actually fossilized sponges. Also, those sponges are growing on the surface of the rock that has been eroded away, that means they grew way AFTER the reef was dead and fossilized. They grew in the cave!! You can see the sponges growing along horizontal lines, like a high water mark. Further, they grew in total darkness (other sponges grow deep enough to be in darkness, but there was a supply of food coming from somewhere, where? Although sponges have skeletons made of glass, they too would have been eroded by the same power of rushing water and could not have remained attached as the rock was eroded away and out from underneath them. The more I think of it those sponges might not be very old (geologically speaking). OH WOW! You know what? You guys have found The Land of the Lost!! A prehistoric cave in a modern world. Watch out for Sleestaks!! You guys may have found something very cool. P.S., I think those creepy spiders were brown widows, but you guys were in a little ways, what was there for them to eat? Cave critters are a trip.
I assume the cave exit (the waterfall) was closed or partially closed but opened up at some point in time. When it was closed(partially) the water level must have stay high for years and years so those corals or sponges grew under water and when the erosion finally caused a break in the rock all the water suddenly flushed roughtly at the same water level it is today.
@@TwinShards still the sponges grew in total darkness within an already extant cave. They were supposed to be in the ocean. That's the point, when was there an ocean connected to that part of rhe country?
I'm super fascinated with cave/diving videos, and one thing I can say about you guys is that you never push your limits to the point of stupidity. Like, if it's tight space, you accept it and back out. Even if it looks like it could possibly be done, it's not worth the risk. I admire that. Hopefully, that will keep you adventuring for a long time. 🙌🏼
"So today the ActionAdventureTwins are at a cave" I dunno why but this comment made me chuckle Having recently binged a lot of the videos on this channel, my mind after that comment was like _When are you two _*_never_*_ at a cave??? 😂😂😂_
Fossilized seabed😮 I've never seen a cave like that, fascinating! Watching you climb is thrilling, and scary; better than any thrill ride I've ever been on. You have my respect for bravery too. If it had been me and I ran into those spiders the video would have been over. Please keep ROCKING my world💖💖
Always a pleasure, gents. =] this is in my top five of yours, for sure. I’m not a huge fan of vertical pits, especially ones that I haven’t seen the bottom of, but y’all make it look easy lol. Looking forward to dragging you two around NorCal, whenever that happens. Can’t wait. It’s gonna be so much fun.... let me know if there’s anything specific you guys particularly want to do, if/whenever anything comes to mind.
I think your presentation is stronger with a brief face to the camera intro. What sets your videos apart is the shear joy you communicate when exploring the cave and your delight at discovery. You are a grown man in touch with his inner child in a wonderful way!
Bro where is this one!??? Y'all straight finding entrances to the underworld like it's just another Tuesday lol and it IS for you guys I love it thank you for risking your life to share these plz stay safe.
This was one of my favorite trips of yours. I think it's funny that you're doing something very risky, but skillfully, and yet you were scared of a little spider.
I subbed to this channel because the twins are the most sympathetic adventure RU-vidrs, because they never swear or talk like idiots, but rather sound intelligent and not pretentious. Absolutely fine content. Thanks for your videos, please always stay safe!
Wow awesome top cave, i like how the water has carved its way down through the rocks and the big water bowls.. An amazing place to be.. The lower cave is amazing, a real interesting descent, Glad you had the chance to explore it, shame tho that you didnt have a 2nd rope, and that you both got cold, Hopefully you can revisit the lower cave with more rope and maybe spare dry clothes in a bag.. Keep ya videos coming, im hooked and i love em..
Do you check the weather first before you go into tight caves? You went places where it would be bad if more water came in. I've been in narrow canyons in Utah where flash floods could come from a storm twenty miles away, and the sky was always clear.
Such a beautiful cave. Astounding. This was very special, loved the sound of water. Had to laugh at the spider reaction. Doing the things y’all do but freaked out a bit by spiders. Take it easy guys. God bless.
You've got to be part "Mr. Fantastic"!!! You have to be rubber to get into and through some of the places I see you go!!! It's crazy AF!!! I swear!!! It looks like inches and somehow you crawl right through it!!!
It gives me the weird feeling.in my stomach.whenever the they are squeezing thru the super tight low ceiling parts. It makes me have such anxiety. But i keep on watching, love it
I don't know how u guys do it like u find the smallest gap to explore and get wet as well to a point your mate wanted to get out as he was really cold. But awesome video as always
That spot where you were saying "wowwwww this amazing and oh no my light died" if you go when the cave is dry, step back and that coral wall looks like wings.
You should get yourself some waterproof walkie talkies, I know they can be pretty useless inside caves but in times of unstable surroundings and loud waterfalls it would make your splunking a lot safer…. I just want you guys to be safe and as set up as possible because I cannot physically do what you can and I love it. Ps, tap/bang your GoPro against your hand a few times after it’s been in water to clear the mic. Jus cut the sound out in editing
Curiosity is killing me, on the one hand I want to see you entering the caves without any fear but on the other hand I really feel upset when I see you crawling through those narrow passages
Noooo pollutants are not dilluted through dispersal. Any waste/contamination will still be in the water no matter how deep UNLESS it’s a spring :) cave water can also be full of minerals from running through all the rock.
You guys literally have all the fun in the world! How far down do you estimate you actually descended? You have many subscribers to your videos, but do you ever answer the positive comments that are left?
Man I would love to hold a piece of that Coral stuff in my hand I've been around water my whole life and I don't think I've seen anything that looks like that stuff it almost looks like some type of barnacle. Y'all keep up doing what makes you happy don't ever listen to anyone that tells you what to do with your life or trys saying this and that is dangerous. They just don't understand for us all to live a free life you must let others do as they wish. Any person that thinks they have a right to tell you what to do has a mental disorder. Be free!! And enjoy!!🤙
1:45 got me thinking. give those little slot canyons in the rocks a bajillion years and they'll have a chance to turn into something like the grand canyon because of erosion. if rivers are constantly eroding, and a lot of rivers feed bigger rivers that eventually end in the ocean, could natural erosion be a big contributor to rising sea levels? anyway, cool cave.
Ur telling me not having a fear of spiders isn’t a prerequisite for cave exploration. That’s the one thing probably people think about the most who’ve never done it
So we found a hole that was about 20-30ft down as we left this spot the other day. It almost looked like there was a tunnel that lead further but with no rope it wasn't going to happen. Have you seen it? On the road bed on the way back to the trail on the left.
hello! we have not seen the hole you mentioned maybe we came from a different direction. we start at the bottom of the mountain and when we get near we dive off the trail on a diagonal towards the cave crossing a creek that is usually dry.
I cant see how you a rigged to your ascender I hope it is connected to your harness right! When you come to a point like that lip or overhang you roll onto you back or side and keep climbing. And make sure you tie a knot at the bottom of your rope I learned the hard way when i was young had an accident and almost died.
Those spiders are for a fact brown widows. Very venomous and if bit can cause extreme reactions and necrosis of the bite area (the venom of the bite spreads deep into the flesh and can be very wide). Bad bad spiders stay away or if you have to smooch them. 😬😳
