Dirt and sand won't clog it my a$$. If you put a drain in without stone (and not pea gravel) and a filter fabric around the pipe and stones, it'll clog.

Use schedule 40 pipe with cleanouts and a lot of stone. The system will last forever.

French drain are not installed with that pipe, they use corrugated pipe, that pipe is for septic systems, and leech fields.
