They say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What may seem an eyesore to one person, just might be a beautiful masterpiece to another. There are places beloved by communities and protected in the hearts of those that hold their memories of its tattered hallways and decayed rooms dear. This is the way that we feel when we explore places that have been forgotten by time. Left to rot and decay and only holding the silent whispers of what once was. We know that there are people out there with malicious intent toward these places that we venture into. It saddens us when we see the filth and destruction they leave behind, but we want to make something very clear… We are explorers and lovers of history. We in no way, shape or form condone the criminal activities that take place in the historical decaying places that we document. Social media has brought many of these places to the limelight, but the intention is to show the beauty and mystery of abandonment. Not to invite trouble. Trouble will find its way on its own and to say that the peaceful documentation of these places leads to criminal activity, is mind blowing. We have met so many amazing fellow explorers in our travels and are so thankful and humbled by the positive responses we have received. We know that this type of exploration is not for everyone…many people don’t understand why we find such beauty in decay, we can only explain it as a beautiful journey into the past. We invite you to watch our explores and come along as we visit these amazing places. As for the criminal activity that occurs, those individuals are responsible for their own actions. It is a terrible part of our society, but reality, nonetheless. Thank you for taking the time to read this and for loving this location just as much as we do. I spent my childhood summers there, so many wonderful innocent memories of childhood there. I swam in that pool, & nearly drowned once there as a young toddler. That tower you asked about was a ceremonial tower used by the Boy Scouts that looked over the parade field. And many other young Boy Scouts (now very elderly) have similar indelible childhood memories of that place. The camp closed back in 1965.
This is an amazing perspective…being this pool is something I have always spent my childhoods at I never saw it with water. I wasn’t born until ‘05 and this pool is something I’m trying to encourage the mayor to do something with. I was thinking cleaned up into a TEMPORARY and reversible skate park until retrofitting a system to it would be possible to bring in some revenue. The towns biggest problem is no money. Everything I do to fix stuff here is done out of mine and locals pockets. My best friends is close with the mayor and I hope to bring back with although being decades apart, was crazily both of our childhoods! I thought no one was left with memories from here and I would be so honored to hear every memory you have of this place. I live here and have my whole life trying to save what I can in recent years. The wall you would enter from and chain link fence actually only crumbled a few years ago, it was totally fixable but the town destroyed it into what you see now. Total bummer and I can’t begin to describe how much this city hall, crackheads and bike club destroy with each year that goes by. It’s devastating trying to make this place shine only to be immediately tarnished by those few. Even local kids will come up and help which in other towns, you see the absolute opposite. It shows most people who really live here want to see an improvement and I hope to make that a reality and allow this place’s hundreds of years of history (many places still standing) be protected by law as a historical place for so many reason. Fun fact: our woods are made of the trees most people in America used as Christmas trees! Eventually the sales dropped and those “Christmas trees” that were never sold have become this eerie woods me and a friend jokingly call the native woods because all the trees almost reach out to grab you! I want to record my entire experience saving this place and even write stories about it.
Hey man welcome to my town! I don’t know where to begin…your video covers Camp Irondale which was originally a Boy Scouts camp put there by Franklin Roosevelt! Before that is was protected land all native. My best friend lives right there actually and I live in a huge house in main town Irondale. My goal my entire life spent here is to restore the place but being one person and having only a handful l of times two locals of everyone helped, no one here cares to see this place in all its glory besides me and a couple others. Most residents are bums and crackheads love to catch with them and while they do, go out and smash or steal all of my hard work from laying down stones to repairing sidewalks. I will never stop trying in hopes for this town but now I have started collecting what I can and holding onto it until I can bring it pack to its original place. I promise this town will look stunning again one day and I want to bring back everything I can from our past. My house has been through it all being over 200 years old my life is restoring stuff and this town is where I do it! If it isn’t the crackheads, it’s the dreaded biker club here that buys out building then destroys them. They won the old post office against me and I worry they’ll flatten it as they did the original school (or what was left of it which was STUNNING). If anyone reads this comment or is nearby and would like to help please feel free to respond and any given moment I will join you. If you ever choose to come back here which I really hope you do, you’ll see a slight difference but sadly not much of one just yet, everything I had done was absolutely wrecked and that messed with me for some time but not anymore as I’ve gotten straight back to it and locals have given me awesome materials to do so.

@@JMExplorations funnily enough, just as you guys say this, someone seemingly got 4 4's true cry (the holy grail of all pokemon glitching for its sheer rarity because of what 4 4 itself does to the game's state) to work if this is real we will have had a breakthrough
