I would honestly love if you guys would search Glasgow underground tunnels and underground city there is so much no one has explored there are ways in through air vents and other locations around the City would be amazing to see what you guys could find
I live very near this house, we went to view as a possible joint purchase with others, you guys did it proud. Although the area to the rear was very dilapidated . It has been sold again but this time with planning consent for quite a few houses as well. The last people to live there were four families in their own flats.
I think it’s a real shame that modern buildings are not built with such beautiful architectural features in mind. What’s an even bigger shame is that many of the skills required to build in this beautiful style, will be sadly lost with time 😢
fantastic building...so good to see it in this state...refreshing to see the development potential...usually the decay is something hard to see beyond..it has got so much to give..
A beautiful building, thank you for showing us this one. I do hope the people who have bought this start restoring at the back soon, this building needs to be loved again. 💕🇦🇺
The transformation sounds very positive and deserving for the building. Hopefully, it is receiving the proper treatment necessary to stop it getting damaged
That mansion is stunningly beautiful! Between the wood ceilings, the stained glass, all the carvings in the wood and stone, it is gorgeous! Maybe the less ornate rooms were for servants. Such a shame to see it just sit and decay! Thank you for the video!
Hi that was an excellent video. It was just wow what an amazing mansion with many lovely features. It had a cinema that is so cool and I liked the stain glassed windows. Thanks for making this video.
I love your explores. You always do your research properly and are respectful of the properties you visit. This building is beautiful. It’s so good to know somebody is going to love it again.
Epic video as usual guys from my home country. This is the place of dreams if you have the wealth and vision to bring it back to life. It's one of these buildings that can suit its age and history whilst also allowing you to take parts and making it ultra modern. Thanks guys!
Nice to see it's been kept in fairly good condition and looks like it has been used a residence until recently. But signs that decay is starting to creep in. Loved the small scale grandness of it. These type of places used to end up as outdoor centres or recording studios. Would make a neat base for an Urbex team with rooms for post work and it's own cinema to preview films! (ok we can dream...) Great work Urbandoned team! 👍
What a amazing building and lovely landscape around the house, great architecture, but very sad to see it decaying away let's hope they do something with it before it gets any worse, great explor thanks for sharing 👍
Someone somewhere still owns this absolute fabulous property, to build something like this complete with the carved wood and kitchens etc would cost a fortune.
Fascinating video as always chaps, thanks for posting. I always wonder, in these beautiful older properties, all the folk that have lived there over the decades and the history they have left within the fabric of the building, the fires that people have sat in front off swirling a brandy around etc. Would love to have the cash to buy this one and retire to the countryside!
A home has an infinite amount of memories over generations of residents. That's why there is often a strange feeling whilst exploring them. Luckily with this one, there is less personal remain and more architecture to focus on, which definitely helps. We wished we had the money to blow on this one, too!
10:15 I used to install kitchens and bathrooms and the fanciest place that I was a part of had a kitchen with about as much countertop space as this.....(with the addition of a 6'x8' (183cm x 244cm) Island in the middle), all made out of granite, which I think I am seeing in this video, and the cost (minus the island) was over $50,000. If I am right, and its harder to tell, because of how dirty the room is, then they were picking top notch material to work with, at least with the countertops. That also looks like the part of the home that was designated as a more relaxed area of the house, probably former servants areas where they were more at liberty to make personal mods to the house without ruining its historical features. I hope that some of the restoration work still needs to move that direction, or that there are plans for it!
What flashlight do you use?? Sorfirn or something. Nice little mini keg. That house was absolutely amazing to say the least. The details and stained glass are fantastic and give the house such great character. Thanks for documenting this fantastic find!
I think they just moved on and the thought of buying a slightly decaying structure put people off for some years. Thankfully, it is back with people now
In my opinion, keep it going focusing on architecture structures as you lads do fantastic capture’s of yesteryear. Why fix something that doesn’t need fixing? 👏😊
Nice video exploration & your voice is pleasant to listen to.🤗 Sad that amazing places like this have been partly left to rot, probably a family feud or something. Property is expensive to upkeep. Enjoyed the tour, long looks at the stained glass & woodwork much appreciated. All that plaster work too, really fancy. Nice to imagine what has been in that safe. Royal Jewels maybe.. There are some modern fittings, then seeing the Wifi box on is a good clue someone is looking after it. Hopefully it will be lived again in ~by a nice community hopefully. I'd love to know what River that is, or hint to what area of Scotland. Thanks, take care on your adventures 💕🐱🏴
Really content that you enjoyed our coverage. We wonder too what was kept in the safe over the years - probably some fascinating belongings. Currently, it is lived in again so it has been protected from falling into awful disrepair like others we have seen.
That's great to know@@Urbandoned It makes your visit even more special if it's lived in now👍 Thanks for replying 🙂 Looking forward to your next adventure , take care 😻
I’m glad to hear someone is living there now. Homes soon degenerate when they are unoccupied. Let’s hope the leaking roof gets fixed VERY SOON. Thanks for taking us there.
Hey Lads how you doing great video as always in a way your kind of missing out on the unusual new buildings that have closed down for good e.g. Indoor Theme Parks or Leisure Centres that have closed down due to the virus or other reasons as this would show the newer style culture and design have a good rest of your day cheers lads :)
There aren't usually too many theme parks that close in the country, or that are worth recording. Leisure centres are fairly common however, and we just filmed one recently. Have a great day, too!
I think that new builds are really lacking in character. I’m sure you will agree, and I really think it’s a terrible shame that we are gradually losing these historic gems, not just in this country, but around the world, and more needs to be done to save these properties from deteriorating and disappearing.
We do agree, although it's a necessary cost to reduce homelessness in the country. More should be done to prevent the older buildings that are the survivors in order to stop them from crumbling to the ground, due to the historical values they carry in relation to when they were built.
I have heard that in places in Europe, buying a home like that and doing work means that you have to use original materials and have the work done in the traditional way. I keep thinking that applied to France, but I am kinda ignorant and was wondering if anyone knew more about that, especially in regards to the laws in Scotland. (I was also thinking that those laws applied to buildings in England as well)
As said from the poster at the end. This property is now owned and under renovations! Please can people stop coming and attempting entry to the property as there is now residents
