places like that are very lonely and the security guards job can be excruciatingly boring. a few friendly guys who didn’t make much noise and were sensible are basically the best case scenario for him too, especially when it is obvious that they are there for a (semi-)professional reason and mean no harm.
The two children were playing inside a big inflatable ball that was floating on a big pool when a strong wind lifted the ball from the water and smashed it onto a metallic barrier about 30 meters away. The two children were immediately rushed to “Paidon” hospital, in Athens Greece. After suffering serious head injuries, the boy was unconscious when he arrived at the hospital. The doctors immediately proceeded with resuscitation efforts, which unfortunately brought no result. The 9 year-old girl was admitted to the ICU where she was diagnosed with severe lung contusion.
For someone that has been to a lot of water parks over the years it’s a shame that another water park didn’t buy any of the slides because it wasn’t the slides at fault for the accident.
This is actually insane. I'm greek and I used to go there when I was a little kid, after it closed in 2014 I would ask my dad to go every year and we would drive by it and see if it was open or not. It never was open. I always wondered what happened but there's not enough new articles so thank you for this video.
its a shame they don't dismantle the slides and let the place be a nice park for people to visit the plants are nice and its good to see them thriving, have the pool areas as ponds and it will be nice for visitors
The injury/fatality wasn't due to the slides, but rather, an inflatable ball which got picked up by wind crushing the two occupants, one fatal, one severely. The owners were arrested & charged with negligent homicide in the end. (Greek Reporter, April 28, 2014)
I don't get why someone would employ a security guard to patrol an abandoned park that's been closed for years. Why not just take all the slides down and clear the land?
@@robertwebster2847 Probably, but businesses prefer regular monthly (small-ish) costs over a one-time big chunk. That's why lots of companies build new office buildings, then sell them to an investor and rent them back.
Love the drone footage and the framing of shots in this. Jurassic Park raptor vibes creeping through the foliage. Great job capturing it all. I'd not call any ride or slide the 'Magic Hole' tho 🤔
There was an incident at the Athens water park, not at this one. Apparently for some reason (no one really knows) they could not get their license renewed and so didn't open again.
As always lads a first class explore with 1st class video and editing. Loved that an increased level of interaction between you was included which gave the feel of being there with you. Really sad what happened with the tragic accident hence its closure, but also surprised that in the commercial world we live, that someone hasn't bought and reopened it with some clever marketing to get it popular again. Thanks as always.
Just subscribed to your channel. First time watching your video. I love abandoned places like this. Or anything abandoned. Watching from Oklahoma City Oklahoma. USA. Be safe on your journeys.
Water parks are a lot of fun but also obviously very dangerous. There is an abandoned indoor water park in Portrush Northern Ireland that also had a bowling alley. It was called WaterWorld
really interesting to see Alistair this was a very exciting one as you've not done a waterpark before . a zoo would be another good one to try film thank you for another great video 😆
9:11 A decade closed and that's all that mother nature has done so far? Rumours of re-opening makes me think that someone's been weeding your "jungle" bit. Next on their list; jet wash the flumes. 12:26 Love the HSE mandated little green EXIT arrow!
Crazy to see that big barrel dumping water in the archive video, then 10 years later its eroded but still standing there. Is the pirate ship still there? Its suprisingly unvandalized so wonder if it has 24hr security? How amazing would it be to see the water turned back on and it come back to life!
That tragic accident didn't happen there it was in an amusement part in a completely different part of of the city. That park was only open for a around a year in total, the park remained pretty simple until recently when further re-development of it has taken place.
