G'day G'day,
One of the less visited spots in our region that has been on our to do list for some time was Mt Britton. Finally we went there, and we'll be back. For now though, our first time there was great. We managed to get familiar with the old towns story and the lay of the land. We'll be back. For two reasons... one to climb those peaks and two, to explore where the track we found ends up. Grab a coldie and enjoy! Happy Friday!

Sure is mate. Even that moonlight dam up the road a bit would be a top spot for a camp.

Great informative video. Spent at least 8 trips there from Gladstone since 2008 using the Hut facilities and sleeping outside in my tunnel tent. Used to bum around on my mountain bike checking out the tracks. Great spot not frequented by hordes. Enjoyed your drone footage also. 😁

Thanks Peter. It's a great spot. Love the area ourselves. Always interesting little towns like that. They didn't quite make it at the time so they are abandoned. Be Interesting to know if those small leases actually pull out alot of gold or not. I figure they must go allright to be out there still.

Great video Tim. I've never heard of Mt Britton until now. I really enjoy learning about the history of places. Brilliant drone footage too.👍

Thanks Keith. I'm the same. As beautiful as the bush is anywhere you go. When there is a bit of history about it, makes for an interesting time.

I'm not sure if it's the season of the year but this is got to be one of the more beautiful places you've been. I'm also not sure if it's warm or cold considering how differently you and shell dress! 😆 Add one rough and sketchy 4x4 trail and Bob's your uncle, you've had a good weekend. 👍

Yeah mate she was a tad cold. Middle of winter here in North Queensland but it doesn't get too cold. This was a beautiful spot indeed. Planning a trip back to find where that trail goes for September or October.

G'day mate... yeah I did. I went back toward the end of last year with me mate Teal from A/Two 4x4. We went up there. But it just seemed to dead end. Well at least it does now. Not sure if it ever went thru. Nice little spot up the top to camp at. That's about it.

Yeah I just watched the video you put up on it, bit of a bugger. I did a trip last year and we got through from Denham range camp area and ended up on turrawulla road further up from mount britton, I believe we were travelling the fire breaks because we lost the track

@@danielcutajar8910 oh nice Yeah. That track from denham range down the hill to moonlight dam would be a good one. But gates locked at the bottom.

Yeah thats the old dray track it's only a walking track unfortunately, it doesn't show up as a walking track on google maps and there's no signs around until you get to moonlight dam saying it's a walking track

@@danielcutajar8910 yeah that's the one. It used to be driven apparently. But since one too many incidents a bunch of gates were put in. Same old story a few ruin it for all. Would be a nice walk none the less.

Hey Tim. Nice video. Inspires me to head back out for a day trip or overnighter with the family. Would be interested to hear more about the 4wd track. Is it the one that goes up to the Denham Range camping area? Cheers Andrew

G'day Andrew. Cheers mate. That 4x4 track... not 100% sure where it goes. But I'm keen to find out. Prob put a trip together in September to suss that out. But almost certian it must link up to the old eungella road and into denham range.
