Lovely drive to get there, Julie and Tony. We enjoyed seeing the campground and all it has to offer. Yes, you also need to keep your eyes open on the dogwalk! Some real 💩's around! We enjoyed the stroll and seeing the horses. Sorry about the castle, but never a fail. Just a recalculation. And a soggy bu...! 🤣🤣
Hi Dave and Kathy, yes a lovely campsite. The walk was so muddy. We had some high wind and rain that night it rocked the van and Archie was so scared bless him. Next day was better and we do get to the castle. I know slipping shook me up a little. Hope you are both doing ok. Take care x Julie and Tony x
Lovely vlog. We stayed on the CAMC site up the road in 2021 and found the famous Specsavers 😂 We also got lost in the woods 🤷🏼♂️ Found a prison, then walked a lot further than we expected to and from the town. Archie travels well in the van bless him. Barnard Castle is beautiful in the summer. We took some beautiful pictures. Wet botty 😮 oh dear…. Hope you get to the castle tomorrow 😃 Trev 💙
Hello Trev and Sue, yes we saw the CAMC as we passed through. Tony’s words were ‘why haven’t you booked there’ ooh the woods were lovely but so muddy, Archie wasn’t happy. The warden did warn us!! I know , Tony was filming the mud and caught me slipping. We went To Brownhills yesterday for Hab/Service of van and I actually fell off one of those electric steps my foot got caught. Luckily no one saw except one guy who very kindly offered me first aid. I said I was fine 😩 and thanked him, although I did really hurt my hip. Take care and have a lovely weekend x Julie and Tony x

Hi Morgs, Jo and Boo, thank you for watching. It was so muddy in the forest and slipping shook me up a little. We were disappointed we couldn’t walk to the Castle but we do visit the next video. We had 40mph wind s and torrential rain that night and it was rocking the van a first time experience of that. Archie wasn’t too happy 😊 take care enjoy the weekend , Julie and Tony x

Hi Julie and Lucy, yes the campsite was very open lovely site. Loved seeing the lambs and horses. Just the mud he he , disappointing we weren’t able to walk down to the town. Yes it shook me up a little but I was fine after a sit down. Yes we decided to go to the Castle in the van the next day and the sun shone for awhile. Mrs Metalmans parents lived in Barnard Castle for the last 20 years of their lives and only 19 miles away from where we live. Wherever we travel in the country and head back home, the Scotch Cromer signpost is always a one we look for and once we see it, we know we are almost home - we normally see black rain clouds as well lol! never been to the caravan site before or Deepdale Wood and on a nice warm sunny day I bet those woods would be a lovely walk. Not much parking in 'Barney' so I hope you got nice weather for the following day, cheers Alan
Hi Alan, Wow! It’s certainly a lovely town. Yes the traffic at scotch corner was a little disappointing but we eventually arrive. The woods would have been lovely , just the mud. The Warden did warn us, he said they have had rain everyday since the beginning of March. It’s nice to see your home area on video. I enjoy when someone comes our way. Hi Sha and Alan, I know what is Tony like🙈talking about the slip, our motorhome went in for its service and hab check, to pass the time we were looking in and out of vans and I stepped out of a van onto an electric step and slipped. I felt so embarrassed hurt my hip, a guy came over offering help I said I was fine. But really I felt awful. My mum used to say things happen in 3’s so I better be careful. I love your drive…it’s always such nice countryside views everywhere. We had a lot rain here too, the ground is the same as where you are. Nice that the sun came out…the woods are lovely just need a little more sunshine to dry it out. Lovely quiet place. 👍😊🇨🇦

Hey Julie and tony, what a fab video! mainly because in the first few seconds, little Archie was smiling from ear to ear! We've of course been to Barnard Castle, and it's SUCH an excellent place to enjoy, but the caravan site looks wonderful too!! Bit blustery and wet on your visit, but at least you're making the most of it! Deepdale woods looks fun, but WOW that was muddy, bless you for slipping, hope you're okay now Julie! Haha, when you said to Archie did you enjoy that, he looked like he actually nodded yes! How cute! Think that's a good idea coming back, nothing is worth hurting yourself for! Hello Alessa, yes it was so muddy and a very steep walk down , I was disappointed but just wasn’t worth it. We aren’t as nimble as we used to be he he. We get to Barnard Castle in our next video , it was so windy 40 mph winds and torrential rain over night. Yes Archie did actually nod his head, he is funny. Hi Dave and Sue. Yes it was very muddy, obviously I’m no good at walking in mud. You are much better Dave he he. Yes a lovely campsite but very open. Very very windy and our first time overnight with the wind and torrential rain rocking the van. Archie was scared bless him. We always try and park where we can walk into a town for the same reasons and our van is smaller than yours. But we manage it in the next video. Enjoy the weekend, take care both , Julie and Tony x

Pity about the mud and not being able to get to the castle. It has rained a lot of late so mud everywhere. It's easy to slip on it too but thankfully no bones broken. On the plus side the site looked lovely 🙂

The weather wasnt too helpful and the conditions underfoot looked slippy but you just have to get out and give it a try sometimes! The campsite looked great though.

It sure was very very wet. I noticed the puddles along the way to the camping ground. Pity the stay wasn't what you planned. Large grounds though so plenty of room. Did miss the trees. Hi Anita, yes we have had so much rain. The walk through the woods was terribly muddy. With steep walks down in mud a definite no no. The campsite was really well set out and spacious, it must be lovely in the summer. We could do with some dry and warm weather. 🌦️ so changeable. @@gallivantinggalantes weve had quite a wet one here today in fact. But I mustn’t grumble. It’s been fabulous and tomorrow- dry again. Which is nice for families as it’s Autumn break holiday time here now. One more week to go. Dry would be nice 😂😂!
