Exploring Big Sur, California - California's Scenic Coastline 

I was first there in September, 1986 and met Emil White, friend of Henry Miller. Yep, pretty awesome. Loved the area so much, I moved to Santa Cruz from Seattle a month later and stayed for 20 years. Big Sur is pure beauty, endless magic and awash in love for all creation.

You gotta check out Nitwit Ridge before seeing the Hearst Castle!

Don't miss the old coast road for a little off road adventure and Soberanes point trail for a quick trail hike with amazing views.

You missed out on artichokes in Castroville, the gorge, and Los Padres NF.

Big Sur is amazing. You can also try checking out Pinnacles National Park, which is only about 2 hours away, just Northeast of Soledad.

SO MANY great places in that long stretch of road between San Simeon and Monterey. Also I've never seen so many Mustang convertible rental cars. Pfeiffer Beach in Big Sur is the best.

I love this video going to school in Monterey I learned so much about the area there is so much to be discovered still. Though I would prefer it if some places stayed a little more secret for locals.

Drove through Big Sur and a nearby pass on our towards Pinnacles National park. Easily one of the prittiest drives I have ever taken.

And remember to hit up the Monterey Bay Aquarium while you are in Monterey.
