I lived and worked here as a manager and tour guide in 1980. obviously from what I've seen they have rearranged and redone quite a bit. when I was here it was much more down home and original. in those days the admission fee was $1.75 and I would give you a personal tour. the bricks are Adobe with a cup of cement in each one to fortify it. he made them in a cardboard box on his lap. Cabot spoke 14 Indian dialects and seven languages and learned them all while traveling the world. I have much more information that today is not told but this is a nice video and thank you very much.

strong feelings towards this. a person lives and has something in their minds they are so passionate about and such a vision..they live to only work on that project and complete it..Only for father time to take them away before its done..Something so personal.Something so amazing in their own minds.I think many of us deal with this very thing. Rather its building your own pueblo or running a youtube channel. We have something we want to share and we hope we get a sense of "done" before its too late...happy new year guys

This looks like a perfect day trip for my home-schooled teenager. We went to clamber down to Ortega Falls today and I swear I thought I was gonna die, I've gotten so out of shape. What was more troubling, my 14-year-old wasn't much better off. So we need to have some "field trips" to places outside where we can actually go right now and just get moving. She might fit up those stairs... but we look for any excuse to drive out through the wind farms, we just think they're so cool. We like to find a song that matches the rhythm of the windmills as we go through. AND it's currently closed. Alright, it's on the list for later...

The huge Native American carving is part of the "Trail of the Whispering Giants". There was 74 carvings scattered all over our country and Canada. Some have rotted away over the years, but most are still standing. We have one here in the central UP of Michigan in Wakefield. We also have one in Lansing MI. They had two in California with the other one in LaJolla, but Wikipedia just says it was lost. Check out Wikipedia for more info on them

Great to see yall out exploring. Most people would like to travel and visit a lot of places but miss out on the things right around them. That looks like a pretty cool place. The native carving is great. I'm Cherokee but he still looks a lot like me. A few years ago I visited an old water powered grist mill. It was less than an hour from my house. The grinding stones were spun by a shaft system that was turned by a water wheel. I'm glad I did because it is now closed and the water wheel system is dismantled. Great video and adventure. Yall Take Care and be safe, John

Heads up to any one wanting to visit the museum, DHS has alot of violent crime and between acoma, Buena vista, cahuilla, and desert view between cactus, palm drive and mesquite harbors most of it. Stay safe and keep your doors locked.

Great video! I must visit. I love desert history. Check out the book called Postcards From Mecca. Its about these 2 ladies who photographed the last of the pioneers who moved west. They lived in that area and the book is filled with gems. I think a lot of the places they photographed (in the early 1900s) are still standing.

Very interesting! Cabot's Pueblo reminds me of Lucas, Kansas S. P. Dinsmoor's Garden of Eden. No windows or doors exactly the same and he had his own cement formula. He also liked to express his thoughts through cement sculpture.
