9:09 Master Kolodko's mini-sculpture of Dracula. There are Kolodko mini-statues in many places in Budapest. They are mostly Hungarian-related, e.g. cartoon characters. It is not by chance that the Dracula statue is at Vajdahunyad Castle. I don't know if you looked up at the wall at the "dead end"? There is another Dracula named Béla Lugosi. The church at the Fisherman's Bastion was named after King Matthias. Its original name was the Church of Blessed Lady. Vajdahunyad Castle was owned by the Corvin family. Mátyás came from this family. Their coat of arms is the raven, which is why there are ravens on the church towers. Now the Romanians promote it as Corvin Castle. By the way, Vajdahunyad Castle in Városliget is made up of several buildings. Its purpose is to present the characteristic parts of some of the buildings in Hungary at that time. The statue of King Mátyás is in Hősök square in the colonnade. The real Dracula was a bad ally of King Matthias. He betrayed the Hungarian king several times, and finally the Hungarian king imprisoned him in Buda. Vlad the Third was a true paranoid madman, he deservedly earned the name Devil's Son (draku or draco in Romanian for dragon or devil). His grandfather was a member of the Order of the Dragon (Societas Draconistrarum) and therefore inherited the name Draku. Bram Stoker was also needed for the well-known figure, who confused the image of the mad ruler with the werewolf and the Romanian vampire belief. Later, Béla Lugosi came to Hollywood and played the role of Nosferatu in the 1928 silent film Nosferatu. He also went crazy later.. Andrassy Street. This was once the villa district. It was originally built for representational purposes, but later became a villa district. 12:03 It's called Kisföldalatti ( Little Underground) . Officially Metro line 3. It was the second such railway in Europe. The vehicles are no longer the original ones, they were replaced in 1975. There is an original vehicle in the BKK museum on Deák Square. 15:51 The name of this building layout is gang (no relation to the English word). This is how old apartment buildings were built in Budapest. Usually one family lived in one apartment, but sometimes there was a family in one room (dad, mom, two or three children). There was no bathroom. Toilet somewhere in the corridor, for shared use on each floor. This was the case until the 1960s. Have you really not tasted the langos and the goulash?

Wow, that is so informative! It is so nice to get all this extra context about the places we visit and things we see, so thank you very much! We managed to try goulash (delicious) in Budapest and also had langos in Romania (also delicious!)
