It really makes you wonder if any of those people know what happened there where they are. Probably not many. So cool, it’s one of my favorite elvis performances. Even tho he hated the tuxedo🤣

Great video, Trey. I learned some new stuff today. Old blue eyes and young blue eyes singing together and that is one of my all time favorite duets...ever! The Fontainebleau is absolutely gorgeous. Great pictures of Sinatra lining that wall. I'd say this is one of your top videos of the ones I've seen.

Humongous hotel very beautiful! I am ashamed to say that we live only 49 minutes from the Fontainebleau and never have been there. However, now after watching your video and educating us We will go and visit, especially with all the history that it has of Elvis and Frank Sinatra preformed there together it’s definitely a must see. Thank You Trey ! You never disappoint us every Tuesdays! Arrivederci

Wow - awesome job here. I also wondered where they had filmed that show. Places and rooms back then seemed to look so much bigger than what they really were. It's like when i watch the Beatles on Ed Sullivan. That stage looks enormous. Then you see it in the Letterman days and it looks dinky. I know things change and they remodel places, etc. That hotel is fabulous looking - especially for its age. So glad those columns are still there. The lobby looks the same. Anyway - I could go on, but I won't. Thanx for this wonderfully vid. Lotta history there and learned a lot from what you showed us. Until your next one, take care, my friend.

Thanks Trey. A very informative and interesting video on the Fontainebleau Hotel. Elvis was paid the astronomical sum of $125,000 for his 8 minute guest appearance! Adjusting for inflation, that's around $1.3 million in todays money. A lot of money even by today's standards. Lastly, I'm fairly certain that Sean Connery filmed parts of his 1964 James Bond movie "Goldfinger" at this hotel.

Great video Trey! I always wanted to stay at the Fontainebleau, but never have. My wife and I will be down there in South Florida for our 25th anniversary in about 3 and 1/2 weeks, but our time in Miami Beach will be on down the beach in South Beach. Otherwise, we will be in Fort Lauderdale and Key West. We love South Florida!

Thanks for this video Trey. How great it was to see where they did the show. If I'm not mistaken, they announced that it was this hotel that the taping took place. I can hear that announcers voice announcing it now. But, don't hold me to that. They usually did announce those things before the show. Anyway , I remember watching it on rerun at around age 8 or so. Fun and informative video. Who doesn't love Old Blue Eyes and Elvis?! You reslly did it this time with the location and videos!! Thanks.❤🎤🎶

Also in 1960; from February 5 to March 8, Jerry Lewis produced, directed and starred in The Bellboy on location at The Fontainebleu. Paramount wanted to release the recently completed Cinderfella (1960) during summer, 1960. Lewis insisted that the film was an ideal Christmas release. He told the studio that, if they'd hold Cinderfella, he'd produce a movie for summer. Lewis shot Bellboy during the day, while appearing in the hotel's nightclub at night. When released, Bellboy, the first film directed by Lewis, was a smash hit.

Too much of a difference to justify.. prices were around $350 a night when I looked. I’m sure back then it was at least affordable and didn’t feel like throwing money away. Today they hit you with resort fees, parking, sweep my dooorway tax etc.. it’s ridiculous

Hi, Trey my name is Marcus I love the Elvis videos you and Billy do. It’s interesting you love basketball and Elvis just as much as I do. My favorite basketball player of all Time is Larry Bird my favorite player playing now is Russell Westbrook I wonder if you ever did any videos on Larry Bird.

I did wanted to ask you a important question. I’m ready Billy Stanley book on the Faith of Elvis. I was wanting to ask you if Bill Stanley does any book signings on his book? Because his book is one of my favorite books I ever read.

If you want to see exactly what the showroom and stage looked like when Frank and Elvis performed there, watch “The Bellboy.” Jerry Lewis filmed his entire movie at The Fontainbleau in 1960.

I’ve always wondered why the relationship with Bill Black and Elvis went sour? Know one never talks about Bill Black.
@GlobetrottingWithTrey
@GlobetrottingWithTrey 10 месяцев назад
I believe it’s because he made so much money in 1956 and Scotty and Bill never got a raise lol seriously.. I feel they were not done right and that is probably the reasoning. Elvis probably should have had colonel fight for them but Scotty and bill were not colonels boy.. Elvis was and colonel made deals for Elvis not his band..
