Hey Everyone!! a heads up: Not All Tokyo Lens Explore LIVESTREAMS will be posted after wrapping up. Make sure to turn on all notifications for this channel so you never miss a stream!! See you all, real soon~
To everyone checking please note: This stream will be at 5AM Japan time. in the bottom left of the screen you can see it says Premieres in x hours and you can set a reminder.
Oh no, Norm, why do you not post all the livestreams after wrapping up? we can sadly not make it to all of your livestreams because of the different time zones etc, but a lot of us still enjoy seeing your awesomeness post stream. nevertheless, keep it up with your great work ( ̄▽ ̄)
Man I miss Kagoshima! Due to the big typhoon back in 2018, we ended up in Kagoshima instead of Okinawa for a few days. We managed to arrive at the big Jazzfestival held every year and had a blast. bumped into the father of one of the founders of the festival, and he and his wife dragged us around the city to the best performances. To us, Kagoshima was one of the highlights of our trip, and we enjoyed it more than Tokyo and Kyoto. So thanks for sharing this, so we can reminiscence, and that hopefully more foreign visitors go down south and experience Kagoshima.
Both the 720 streams and 4K premieres have their place. I like being able to interact with you, choose directions on the streams and also like the 4K premieres that generally have a zen type feel and still interact with you and guests in the comments.
Norm, I love your enthusiasm in every vid! Every question you have, heck, even when you listen to someone in total silence, one can just feel the joy of just listening beaming from within you! Love this channel and the original Tokyo Lens channel! Keep up the good work!
Finally got a chance to watch the video! Awesome as always Norm. It took me right back to my honeymoon in 2018. We spent a day in Kagoshima and on Sakurajima. It was so peaceful just walking around the island getting to see the volcano. I even got a photo of the submarine!
This was so amazing to watch! Mitch is full of knowledge & I loved learning more about this area. Would absolutely love for more walks around different parts around Japan with locals who can share the history of the area. Thank you so much for exploring with us, Norm!
Having grown up with volcanoes, Tacoma, Washington, this takes me right back there. In Kentucky now, but still miss the Ring of Fire. Thank you for another amazing video!
Thanks for another fact filled video Norm and Mitch! Really love those back alley walks. Volcano was very beautiful. A visit is definitely on my bucket list!
I really liked Mitch's inputs, much like Alex's both of them are passionate as they share their knowledge about Kagoshima and Sakurajima. I would really love to hit them up one day if and when I go there. Thanks again Norm as always for bringing us with you in your adventures.
I loved this. Sitting in my home in Australia I have gained a huge appreciation for Japan and it’s beauty. Please, Please, more like this. It is really wonderful.
What a super fun adventure, thanks for brining us along as always! Mitch is a fount of knowledge for that area and shared so much cool info! Enjoy your MEGA COFFEE!
I will be honest, I planned to watch this in stages, but ended watching it from start to finish. So very enjoyable, and Mitch was an awesome guest. Thank You, Norm, for this content. Take care out there.
Came here to chill, ended up getting a crash course in this beautiful place. Great work as always, and thanks Mitch for dropping all that premium Kagoshima knowledge!
I loved this, thank you for bringing Mitch, and taking the ferry. As someone who lives on an island on the other side of the Pacific, I love seeing ferries!!! Everything was so interesting
Actually my first time to finish a whole hour of walking tour. You guys are awesome! I've enjoyed the beauty of Kagoshima and at the same time learned a lot from your trivia and facts. Thank you and will definitely tune in more of your future videos. Good job 😊
Thank you so much for this video. It was so cool, Mitch is a big star and knows so much about the area. I definitely don’t mind if the video is 720 or 4k, as watching on the phones it does not make a big difference, and the life chat is fun.
I cant wait for my exchange year at Kagoshima University, which was postponed 2 times already due to Covid. Hopefully Japan will lift its entry restriction soon so that I can explore Kagoshima and Sakurajima myself.
Its the depth of winter here in New Zealand, it snowed last night and this was a very pleasant subtropical interlude. Your videos are always great but this was extra special, thank you for sharing.
I love 4k content just because you get to see so much more detail! But it's also fun having the premier and having you and any special guests hanging out in the chat as well so 720 is fine for that! :)
I know your videos are usually full of fun and interesting facts, but learning about the grass under the tramway was so cool. It looks awesome, and potentially has a great functional purpose as well. Now I want all tracks to have grass around them 😍
Damn, i'm reminiscing the good times when I lived here. I also met Mitch a few times out drinking. Good guy. This pandemic needs to end and let the world open up. Can't wait to go back to see family and friends.
Since I can't get a visa atm, I appreciate the walking streams as this is what I used to do a lot as well - just have a general direction for a location and then I went on my own paths, almost no main roads
I doubt something like this would happen but if you ever need a tour or a list of the good spots in Yamanashi, I am up for helping ya. It would be cool to see the reaction of everyone in the comments to many of the spots I visited and know to be very amazing.
For exmaple, I am good friends with a tea ceremony master and he can introduce you to the tea ceremony community of Yamanashi. I think something like that can be a good thing to flim. I can also introduce you to a Shugendo practitioner, a yamabushi that lives in Kawaguchiko. So yea, I've used my time there to talk and meet interesting people xD Also, one of my former teachers (an American living in Japan for over 30 years probably) has a lot of acquaintances and friends tied with Japanese culture.
Thanks again for the video! Seeing it brought me back to when I used to ride my bike around the the route you took. I would hit that exact McDonald's when I craved a little taste of home. It also reminded me of the summer festivals that would happen in the parks you had walk passed. As always keep these great videos coming!
This video is really fun to watch and I liked hearing the little trivia about the place (some of which I wish was in the video like the monks and the ash ice cream).
Okay, since you mentioned it I'm going to have to formally demand a video at Tanegashima. This video was fantastic and Mitch was a great guest. Keep up the great work!
Both livestream and premier are nice. I like the long form premier style videos cause it's higher quality and feels more casual compared to your main channel! Live streams are fun though as we can interact with you while filming!
Loved hearing Mitch talk about the city and all the information about the volcano was super interesting. Thanks for basically kidnapping him for the long walk 😂
I think I prefer these premieres just because I can plan to be available to watch them a bit better, but exploring things in real time is also exciting! The quality of the video doesn't matter to me. I would trust your judgement which adventures would be better live or as premieres!
Man, I'd love it if Mitch could go along with you for more videos! I know he'd probably wouldn't know as much for other regions, but I just love the way he has an explanation for everything, or a little story. I love to be that way when I am hanging out with friends. The way he explains even the hydraulics for the docking arm in the port, I love little details like those! Thanks for the stream Norm, one of your best ones yet! Sending positive vibes and support from Costa Rica :)
It has been 4 years since I was at Kagoshima, but even then, did not get to spend time at Kagoshima, since it was a road trip of Kyushu and Kagoshima was just a two day stop T.T Always wanted to go back but never got the chance, since other parts of Japan came first XD and then the world turned to s***~~ Thanks Norm and Mitch for the tour~!! That was amazing~! Would love to go and visit and catch the Monk Band XD~!! Cheers~~
Super fun video, I love all the extra info Mitch had on the area. I'm intrigued by the "ash ice cream", is it actually made with volcanic ash? Btw, I like any video, doesn't matter if it's 720 or 4k or 8k. ;p
