You really get it right when you do the camera work Mary Lynn! It’s just the right amount of time to appreciate each painting as well as the exhibition as presented by the gallery. Love these videos
Stegner's work is very cool. The colors and lines on a lot of pieces remind me very good graffiti street art. Love the suburban imagery. Making the suburbs an interesting subject isn't easy. Very unique, fresh. If a Shell station, McDonald's, Whole Foods, etc (commercial branding) were added to some pieces you could call them Pop Art. Thanks Mary Lynn.
Just subscribed. I liked the way you responded to the spaces as galleries are can be reassuringly beautiful and just the experience of being there life affirming. The brief description that you gave of the Chapine (?) paintings and his project made me interested in them. They looked good in the space but I'm more responsive to an expressive rendering than I saw there. This was an engaging vid though, thanks from the UK.
Good camera work of the paintings on show with soft music. The last artist has interesting space with colour. He may have printed out a few images and was influenced by the print process or digital computerised graphics.
// we have been here before, like a song we've heard before. like how that white dress floats above the hip, like a little umbrella following the feet, the shoes may have been a shiny 🍒 red, how peculiar an exhibit that would be.
It's not done for a reason, art teacher's say it flattens and tell you to lay off the black, rules are meant to be broken, good stuff. Distorted figures reminded me of Botero, guy in blue shirt must be a virgin. Thank you for the tour.
Again lots of beautiful painting but i would spend a word about the beautiful galleries in America snd England or switzerland . In the last 100 year america showed the greatest movement of art and artists so they deserved the world rappresntation now possible through Google and these fantastic exibitions. Wonderful
Like your videos, if you are going to show the artwork show everything, I wanted to see the lady with the blue dress, and you end up showing the two guys seating up, Mary Lynn give me a break!
It's very sad that meticulously executed paintings are assumed by many viewers to be digitally made. People have become very accustomed to seeing sloppy paintings, with strokes that look careless.
