Hi guys- hope you enjoy our mini documentary of our trip to Malawi, Africa- if you'd like to help the work Concern Worldwide do please donate at this link: bit.ly/donalmalawi PLEASE CLICK THAT SHARE BUTTON!
I love life of Donal the European adventure who tried each and every Malawi local food and he is very excited to see our Malawi developing he is even putting much effort in Development section
It broke my heart toward the end... 😢 I appreciate that you share this good cause with us and truly admire you for doing the good thing. I believe that accumulation of small help will be a significant help. I have donated and will continue to support. Thanks Donal and Sophie! 😊🙏
I have recently been interested in the history of Malawi, and found it fascinating how Lake Malawi was formed by the movement of the tectonic plates, and how Lake Malawi had more species of fish in it than any other country in the world. I then found this video you guys did, travelling there, which is what I want to do asap so i imagined myself in your shoes, being over there. I haven't cried in years because I almost never do, but a tear ran down my cheek at the end of this video, I have now found genuine care for Malawians. Thank you for this.
For being someone who technically doesn't have a career in documentaries, this is a perfect example of how to visit a country without being condescending or speaking over the locals when it comes to their problems or engaging in "sorrow porn". Good job. Will be making a donation. ❤️
Jane Smith I hope you cried because you're trying to get their money back? Don't take the moral high ground, give them their REPARATIONS and tell your governments to wipe the illegal debts in Afrika? How can you rob someone and continue to steal their resources whilst demanding payment for the privilege?
Everywhere we go, this world is full of beautiful people. I love when I find a video that reminds me of that as well as the fact that we are so blessed and should look to improve the lives of our fellow human everywhere.
Thank you for spreading the word and bringing us this docu-series now it's our job to donate and spread the word. Together we are one. Keep doing a great job 💯
Have just come back from Malawi visiting my daughter during her year volunteering there. Your video has brought the beauty and the hardship back to me in technicolor. Well done for making such a great film and thank you.
"hey you boy shut up plz" hahah .What a great experience and I'm glad you were able to share it with all of us. Loved the video. Sophie with all the kids was adorable.
I appreciate how you showed that even though they have very little, they're still happy and thriving. I think a lot of the times we just say oh those poor people, they don't have anything, but in reality that's their normal and they find a way to be happy and live the best lives they can.
These Malawi videos have been absolutely wonderful to watch and so educational. There have already been such heartwrenching parts. Thank you so much for sharing this experience with all of us! You are both such lovely people :)
Another beautiful insight into your trip, capturing the despair and suffering, as well as the vibrancy, spirit and resilience of Malawi. Thank you, Donal and Sofie, and thanks to your subscribers for watching, commenting and sharing!
Spent some time in Malawi now almost 14 years ago, on a health and medical visit. Your videos now look identical to mine then. These are very resilient and strong people, who face immense problems: drought, poor housing, little to no medical care or educational opportunity, and cultural issues which make it difficult for them to improve their conditions. Yet they are full of life, smiling, and welcoming people. I hope they are somehow able to get good government, decent schools, and international help which gets into the small remote villages rather than being mismanaged. Bless you for going and doing even a little bit for them, and Blessings for the People of Malawi.
Thank you, Donal & Sophie, for showing us how similar we are in spite of differences in Geography, Language, & Culture. You two are great Ambassadors. I hope your trip to Malawi sparks generous donations for those beautiful people.
Donal and Sophie, I'd like to meet with you and get your views on how we can change education forever in Malawi. Your documentary although fun and creative didn't hit the mark for me, you miss Europes role in pushing Malawi down to the bottom of the pile and the need for your countries to apologise and atone for your peoples greed, pillaging, and utter contempt for the Afrikan. Today Malawi pays for your luxurious lifestyles in the west, the "WORLD BANK" and IMF have most of Afrika economically enslaved, this is a slow Genocide we call "EcoCide". What can film makers like you guys do to REALLY CHANGE ANYTHING? HELP US GET THE REPAIRS DONE!! Reparations to our Dis-Education systems both in Europe and in Afrika. Interested? Rico@dynamixcic.org
Congratulations to you for doing service work during this time where everyone thinks of getting instead of giving, or at least the children outside of Malawi do.
Donal man, I'm thick skinned as all hell, and don't let much get to me. But this man; it brought me to tears, at like 4:02. I think all together, the editing, music, all things that went to producing this it made me shed a tear. Didn't expect it, and I know what a tear of 'joy' is now. To see someone going to africa in order to raise awareness, I don't have any words. Hats off, and I subscribed
This is so Good. you making this trip with Sophie, sharing with us your experience there and see how this people it's so strong and keep there spirit so high. even though they were hungry they were giving you bouth a warm welcome with dances and a smile on their faces. God bless them all.
Christie Dickens resilience is an understatement, Europe continues to steal from these people and yet documentary film makers go in and patronise the Afrikans. Funny how when Europeans where still living like cave dwellers Afrika had set up a civilisation for many hundreds of years. Please don't feel pity or look down at these people, DEMAND JUSTICE and help them repair a once might and progressive continent?
Rico Jakk at no point did I feel "pity" or "look down" at "these people" as you say. The feeling this video stirred in me was empathy, not pity. And if anything, I look up to them, not down on them.
iam proud of africa...and Malawi my neighbour cause iam zambian....one thing we have in common is happy friendly people, our main language, food and currency...just like home
I love this mini-series, Donal. And Sophie, you brought such joy to the children. I have a question about the last village. You said they were happy that you visited them. But you also said they were hungry. I know that you were there to shoot a video that might inspire people to donate, and I am inspired to do so. But did you bring some basic food supplies to these villages, especially to the last village? Did they have the same hunger and despair when you left, as they had when you came?
8:00 - 8:13 do they boil the sweet potatoes first before smashing? I love the African rural life, free from toxic emissions and feeding on organic food.
Hello Donal! Great mini documentary about a country whose beauty but also whose problems deserve to be noticed. May your video will help to raise lots of money. Good luck and many greetings from Fanny who doesn't doubt that your mission will be successful :) !
i hope i can marry a good man like you. you're a man with a handsome face and a warm heart. sofie is just too lucky to have you as her husband... but ya, sofie deserve it. she's so friendly and she has a beautiful smile. love both of you! 😊😊😊
Hey Donal, I've gone to Malawi twice to visit the Jacaranda School for Orphans near Blantyre; it's an amazing foundation with a very inspiring story, and they provide the students there with free porridge through an organization called Mary's Meals. Check it out, and zikomo for your wonderfully respectful, informational, and important work.
Hello! I’m glad you went and visit my second country I would like to work with you and talk more please. I been in Malawi for about 10 years please I really want to work with you thanks you
I think it can be translated as fruit punch. It's a hot beverage we make in Mexico at Christmas eve. It has guava, tamarind, apple and other fruits but the best part is chewing the sugar cane haha
Very interesting idea indeed. Are there any safety issues you should be concerned about? Don´t take it the wrong way, I don´t mean to generalize, but some African countries are known to be hostile or at least unsafe for tourists. How about traveling there with family? Thx
