The oldest clock in the world...wow! What a gorgeous Church with so much history. Couldn't help but think about the preservation of memories in context of the recent fire of Notre Dame in Paris. Great historical capture :)
That outdoor hallway is just gorgeous. I would love to take pictures there. Seemed pretty quiet on the outside. A clock from 1386!? That's pretty insane. I'm always fascinated by all the details that are put into these structures from so many years ago.
It is an amazing place especially as it is nearly 800 years old. Imagine how it must have looked when it was built when must people were still living in single storey huts.
Quite honest, one of the places I'd like to see is the Salisbury Cathedral. Love all of these massive, imposing European churches - That's awesome that they have the stone workshop inside, and the working clock, too. Will be visiting it someday for sure!
Never been before but looks like we have been missing out, as this was impressive indeed. It was amazing outside but inside blew me away, absolutely stunning. We live 10 miles away from Durham Cathedral, which we have been to many times and it's great but this was awesome! Cheers Alan
It is an impressive cathedral and the area around is very picturesque. I wasn't able to do it on this occasion but there is a tower guided tour where you can see the internal structure and the marks from the medieval workers.
