East Coast Lagoon Food Village is another hawker centre. Opening scenes of Varnapakitu movie was shot in that area East Coast Park (Mohanlal, Meena, MG Soman& Janardhanan).
Newton Food Centre is the place where 2018 movie Crazy Rich Asians's food market scene was filmed. You may also explore more Hawker Centres in SG such as Lau Pa Sat, Maxwell Food Centre etc.
Pls try Lau Pa Sat near China town for food vlogging. Its the largest hawker centre here with multiple cuisines at the same place. Also do try out Singapore Laksa. You will like it.

You may also try Hainanese Chicken rice, laksa, Ramly burger,ice kachang, char kway teow(similar to Pad see ew in Thailand & Koithio @ Beijing Bites in Bangalore)etc. There is YT Channel called 'Singapore foodie' where you can check out the preview/references.

Sg people are too stressed no matter what job they do. Almost everyone prefers to mind their own business and ignore the strangers and avoid interactions with them..plus they hate foreigners...xenophobia is rampant there...there is a common sentiment that foreigners are coming and taking away their jobs...so if you come across some friendly strangers, you are lucky. :)
