Join along as Jasper and I explore the Burnt Lands alvar in Eastern Ontario.
Spring, like all seasons on the alvar, presents a whole different set of unique conditions; its when its at its wettest, and it also marks the rebirth of the ecosystem's unique flora after its long winter slumber.
This short account of our exploration of the alvar will be the first in a series of dayhikes, and also the first of the Burnt Lands alvar, where I hope to bring you back in each of the seasons.
