This was such a great idea, Alessandro. We've all seen hundreds of street photography videos, but I can not recall ever seeing one in Venice. You gave us a nice inside look on the city, its vibe, its energy and its beauty. Thanks a lot for this. I never imagined seeing graffiti in Venice. But I could see that it's a real city with real people and not just hordes of tourists. It would be amazing to see more photos of locals next time. Some more of mundane life. I loved that shot Amir got of the guy pushing the big wheel barrel up the stairs and your shots of the old lady with the stuffed animal and the guy carrying his dog in the baby harness. Those are awesome. It seems like there are some really colorful locals in Venice. Lots of beautiful wide angle shots of the canals too. That was cool. You're so lucky you live in Europe and can see all of those amazing places. But it's also good for all of us because we get to see it in your videos.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment! I'm really glad you enjoyed the video and appreciated the unique perspective of Venice beyond the usual tourist spots. It's important to me to showcase the real essence of the places I visit, emphasizing not just the iconic views but also the everyday life and the people who make these places so special. I completely agree with you about the graffiti and the glimpses of 'real' Venice - it’s these small details that often give a city its character and soul. My personal favorite images are 10:45 and 10:55. I'm also planning to include more of these candid moments in my future videos, focusing on local life and everyday scenes. Venice, indeed, is full of colorful and unique characters, and I’m always on the lookout for those unscripted moments that tell a deeper story. Living in Europe does have its perks in terms of travel, and I feel fortunate to be able to share these experiences through my videos. Your support means a lot, and it’s comments like yours that motivate me to keep exploring and sharing these stories. Thanks again for watching and for your wonderful feedback.

A nice video and the pictures look very good. What are the camera settings on the Leica q3 for this trip? I am a beginner and own a Sony a55 with the Sigma 35mm 2.8 lens. Is it also possible to get such images? I would be happy if I got an answer. Best regards Michael

Hi Michael, Thank you so much for your kind words about my video! I'm glad you enjoyed the photographs. For the Leica Q3, my settings during this trip were approximately f/7, 1/500 sec., and I adjusted the ISO as needed depending on the lighting conditions. Consider using Aperture Priority which can be very convenient for a beginner. Regarding your Sony a55 with the Sigma 35mm 2.8 lens, you're definitely well-equipped to start practicing street photography. Your camera has an APS-C sensor, which differs from the full-frame sensor in my Leica. However, this doesn't limit your ability to capture great images. In fact, to see a more direct comparison, you might find it interesting to check out my video "To Edit or Not to Edit." In that video, I used the Fujifilm X100V, which also has an APS-C sensor and a similar focal length to your setup. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xaOtbpvFLXw.htmlsi=K4_qaVKKC4uPRkUR Another key aspect to consider is how you retouch and color grade your images. This can significantly impact the final look and feel of your photos. Keep practicing and exploring with your camera, and you'll continue to improve and develop your own unique style. Happy shooting! Best regards, Alessandro

Hi! Nice vid. again! Im owner of Q3 aswell and I have few question. Which color profile you prefer? And another one - I shoot to DNG, but when I upload these DNGs to LRc I can't choose Q3 color profile - just adobe. Do you have any advice how set the camera color profile for DNG in LRc?

Hi there! Thanks for watching and for your great questions! Regarding the color profile, I typically set my camera to either Standard or Leica Contemporary. These two profiles really align with my aesthetic and provide a great starting point for my images. Currently, I'm using Leica Contemporary more often, as I find it gives a unique touch to the photos. When it comes to editing DNG files in Adobe Lightroom Classic (LRc), I usually stick with the Adobe Standard color profile. This profile generally corresponds to the specific camera used, offering a reliable baseline for post-processing. In Lightroom or Camera Raw, I further refine and edit my images, tailoring them to the visual style I'm aiming for. Adobe frequently updates Lightroom with new camera profiles and enhancements, so it's always good to keep your software up to date. This ensures you're getting the most accurate and optimized profiles for your camera. I'm also planning to make a video in the future about how I edit my photos. It'll cover my approach to post-processing, including how I tweak and adjust the colors and tones to achieve the final look of my images. Stay tuned for that! Thanks again for your interest and support. Keep shooting and experimenting with your Q3 - it's a fantastic camera!
