Getting struck by a hammer and dying instantly sounds so much pleasant than dying from getting struck by a hammer AND drowning in your own blood. This story is brutal 😭
Why is it when certain people are faced with financial pressure, they set out to kill their entire family and most times themselves? Such as John List, who murdered his whole family under his roof but did not kill himself. All he had to do was sell some of the assets within his home & then downsize into something smaller for him and his family. Why do they only see murder/suicide as the only way out?
I think that they feel that they are under that financial pressure due to all the people they support, the lifestyle they provide for others, and the people who rely on them, eventually they get resentful and turn on them.
I think they see themselves as a failure and are embarrassed to tell their family the truth. They get suicidal, and while in that mindset believe that since they won't be there to take care of their family, the best thing they can do is keep them "safe" by killing them. Or, sometimes I think the devil just takes them over.
JellyBean I am about as far away from beeing a religious person as you can ever be, but I think the phenomenon you are referring to, in a way, is one of the main reasons behind why the inventors of Christianity labeled ”pride” as one of the so called ”seven deadly sins”. It seems to me like pride, more often then not, has a tendency to make us humans do all kinds of stupid and evil shit to each other...
+adamthewoo Thanks for watching! Here's a link to an article with a bunch of photos from stuff in the house. It reminded us of the time you explored Santa's Village. Although when I went as a kid, that place was even more creepy in full function. - Bethany www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3544498/First-glimpse-inside-infamous-Los-Feliz-Murder-Mansion-hits-market-50-years-crazed-father-three-bludgeoned-wife-death-grisly-murder-suicide.html?ito=social-facebook
Los Feliz has a history of terrible events/hauntings. The Labianca's were murdered by the Manson family in that area. Also, the house where Cary Grant & Randoplh Scott lived in, is notoriously haunted! Is also somewhere in Los Feliz, creepy! Great video:)
The Labianca's house was near Los Feliz, but not in the area, it was in Silver Lake/near the Hyperion Bridge that ends the Los Feliz mark and enters Franklin Hills.
My cousins and I went to explore this place last year. We manage to get inside and it was even creepier in there! There was old creepy dolls, bunch of medicine, old newspapers, files, and more.
You guys should check out Spadra in Pomona. There's a cemetery, a house and history right there under the 57 freeway. Tons of people drive over it everyday not knowing that it's there.
Ah man!!! You guys didn't even go in? Not going in is possible ok. 2bad I was into your video but with no actual investigation you lost me. Cool stuff though.
My buddy and I went to the house at midnight and watched the Exorcist on a lap top to scare the hell out of ourselves. It worked. There are absolutely no street lights on that street and it's pitch black. It's a creepy ass house, but there's more to it. The house behind and above it also had a similar murder happen a decade or two before. Shits crazy.
No, it’s not the same house. The Manson murders were about a mile away near Griffith Park Blvd., three blocks from my place. I walk my dog by it often. Katy Perry just bought the massive property right next door to it. I wonder if she knows it’s history. I believe some guy from the Ghost Hunters TV show just bought the actual house the LaBianca’s spent their horrific final night in. There is a great Joe Rogan podcast with a guy who wrote a book about the Manson murders. He thinks the Los Feliz murder pinned on the Manson murders could have been a hit due to the husbands gambling debts and their grocery store that they owned was in financial trouble.
@@lauradelgad8369 The Manson victimized LaBianca house is also high on a hillside street in Los Feliz, but about 2-3 miles away in a different neighborhood...less as the crow flies but longer as the roads twist and turn and rise and fall.
I have this new condition I call "Odditsisum" That is where you "just can't get enough" of your oddity odyssey's Doc told me I'll be fine as long as I get one "fix" a week - Dr. Feelgood
What a story. The demise of a family and a beautiful house, as well. Seems crazy that it is basically used as a warehouse of sorts now. I wonder what the future holds for this property; if it will continue to decline and eventually be razed. Thanks for another very interesting episode!
+BrillBlonde There have been talks about demolishing the house for good, yet it's been put off since the current owner (who doesn't live there himself) feels no one would want to buy the land. There is another rumor about a film being made from this story. Thank you for watching!
Same. My condominium, at one point during period of 2 years there were 2 suicides by jumping from the condo and I couldn't care less though some families moved out from the condo. I worked night shift so I had to go back home during 2-3 am every morning and I never saw a thing. I went to dump the trash bags at the wee hour and no ghost encounter. Nothing. No strange things happened to me either. I still believe humans are the scariest beings. Meanest, most evil. Not ghosts.
It would depend on who , and what happened . I would never feel comfortable for instance living in the house where my sister's brutal death took place years ago . My skin would crawl if I had to spend one minute in the house where the Lizzie Borden. and Iowa family axe murders took place and also the Sharon Tate place
I went there twice the first time I went there was a truck in the back next to the garage the second time I went it was in the same place but further from the garage this place is very very creepy and the energy was just too intense it was so crazy
Strange and ironic that the couple who purchased the property (and subsequently their son) went to such great lengths to ensure that the house remained as it was the night of the murder/suicide for decades, only to have it all cleaned-up and thrown-out by the real estate company in order to be put back on the market. Obviously, no prospective buyer would be interested in purchasing a home filled with dusty, 1950's-era detritus, but it is still sort of sad. Oh, well. One of the great urban legends of the area, now a thing of the past.
Do calm and murder go together? Murder and calm? Murder? The awfulness and terribleness of it will never be forgotten. There is still blood on the organ keys, and they used Bon Ami !
emma duncan he was a doctor so he took many pills which he knew would kill him. the acid thing is a myth that never seemed to add up but was probably just added bluff to make it seem worse. he never actually used acid though
My girlfriend and I went there around ten years ago. The creepy thing is if you go in the front the far left window you can look into I think a library/den you can see there Christmas tree still set up since the 50's and there's some water damage and peeling wall paper. Ya it's super creepy. You used to be able to just go around the side into the backyard and look into the house. It looks like they put up plywood from this video. We also went to the Wonderland house the same day as well as the George Hodel Black Dalia Franklin house. A nice Hollywood murder tour. You can drive to all 3 within an hour...
A terrific house but that I agree that the staircase/window arrangement is odd. There's a lack of privacy; someone just walking up or down the stairs in their own home could be seen almost a block away. Too the stairway cutting across the window detracts from the beauty of the house. Also I'm curious about why someone would buy such a large house in a residential neighborhood and use it for storage. I know of houses being used for storage or, in rural areas. as barns but not a house that big. Something odd about the situation in Los Feliz and that it was/is used that way for so long. The property taxes alone must be sky-high then there's empty house insurance and probably an electric bill and maybe a water bill also.
My company remodeled a backyard near this home I took a trip to this place during daylight I noticed the plants trees and stairs to the door are super old. Someone bought the house out but yet still hasn’t touched touched anything from the outside. Maybe the inside is what they say is being remodeled first?
I think it’s a beautiful looking building and it’s a shame it’s been left and just used as a glorified storage locker rather than being lived in and maintained. The gardens could be made to be stunning too.
You should explore the Whaley House. It on of America's most haunted houses and it is built on a old and massive cemetary. Some of the cemetary is preserved. It is in Old Town San Francisco. I am not sure but the entire place is supposed to be haunted. Maybe you could try exploring the area at night too.
tyailee hawkins do you mean the one in San Diego? That would be pretty cool if there was another Whaley house that was haunted. I’ve been to the one in SD many times and I haven’t seen anything. I brought a skeptical friend once though, and he thought he was going to be funny and he was taunting the ghosts. He was saying, “Oh Mrs Whaley, come out and get me!” We separated and I went into another room. I heard a bang, and when I turned around he was on the floor and scurrying like a little animal trying to crawl away from something. He ran out of the house and waited for me. When I came out, he said he saw Mrs Whaley, and we never spoke of it again.
Hey Guys i was thinking on using some of this footage, in one of my next videos. Would That Be ok ? Please note that the full video will not be shown and all credit for the clip will be given to your channel. Thanks. And awesome stuff, i'm glad that i came across your channel, while doing my research. keep the videos coming i look forward to see more. Thanks :)
You should probably google @JeffMaysh he is the person that researched all the facts they shared on this video. Not sure why they didn't credit his research for the episode
+Giggidygiggidy12 You're absolutely correct that people should check out Jeff's work. Jeff Maysh is an excellent journalist and we made sure to send him a link to the episode when it first came out weeks ago. His work has been credited from the beginning after our music selection credits :)
Bad things happen at a lot of homes, I would have to be inside to see how it feels I have been in a small house like that but at a glance it is a beautiful home a fine piece of California design, should be saved
Lynn Ferguson yes they are all living, the oldest by the name of Emily was the one he hit in the head on that morning , she was 18 years old at that time
Dale Jensen Sharon Tate’s House was demolished years ago,and replaced with another home , and the same with O J’s house demolished and a new home in its place.Nicole’s house condo is still there . Someone should do the same with this house, it recently went up for sale a couple of months ago,for four million dollars. Don’t think anyone will pay that much.🤔 it needs to much work.
Vicki Noeske he was there with his younger sister too, when the oldest Emily ran for help the other two were awaken & the Dr told them to go back to bed that it was all a nightmare💁🏽♀️meanwhile the 18 year old ran to neighbors for help
Quite the fixer-uppper. Too bad it hasn't been well maintained, as from what I saw it looks like the house is falling apart. "Unsightly" - in my mind that translates to money pit. Whoever buys that property (when the current owners eventually put it up for sale) will likely have to do a complete demolition and re-build.
+Pueo711 You make some excellent points. There are rumors about a demolition being under-way, but you know how those rumors can be. Thanks for watching!
+Cori Eddings It has been rumored that Judye and her two younger siblings moved in with distant relatives and changed their names. Thank you for watching!
Been there a few years ago. myself and my home girl were in our car outside late night and no joke brand new car all the electrical started going crazy cae shut down rt when she started telling me about it and there were some strange stuff going on in the house. I always been open to that stuff of the energy was so real. I forgot about that night till I saw this video.
Los Feliz is typically pronounced Los FEE - liss, not Los Feh-LEASE And here are some cleaned-up interior photos from the current real estate listing www.bhhscalifornia.com/listing-detail/2475-glendower-place-los-angeles-ca-90027_1843846
+Gracie Frick Los FEE Liss may be the more common pronunciation, but it's a Spanish word with Mexican origins. The Los FEE Lis pronuncication dates from when LA was a 90% White city, when clueless White people pronounced the name of the city Los ANGLE-iss, instead of Loss ANjell-is. It really should be Los Feh-LEASE. And it really should be Los AN-hell-lace.
+The Movie Dealers true - just speaking from experience. I lived in Los Feliz for 10 years... never heard anyone pronounce it with the spanish pronunciation.
+The Movie Dealers yeah, nobody cares about that or bitterness towards white people. It's Los FEEliz now. That's like calling Hispanics who don't speak English clueless because they call Docters On Duty "Dr.San Duty" or Denny's "Dennis", which they very much do, so don't even try and deny that shit. It's not that people are clueless. It's that people are unfamiliar; huge fucking difference. People have lives to live, and mouths to feed; they can't worry about subtle linguistic differences when they got bigger fish to fry. Get off her high fucking horse.
Fehl-EESE Nah-VEE-dahd, Feliz Navidad..... In CA they pronounce rodeo as roh-DAY-oh, so I wouldn't put much stock in how Californians pronounce things. I've never heard anyone say they were a bull rider in the roh-DAY-oh. I'll go with Jose Feliciano being right on the pronunciation of feliz.
That was back in 1959... it's time to clean the house..air it out..bless it..put fresh paint..new carpet..new furniture..and give the house a feel of being a real home...I don't think there's anymore haunted residue..I think the house would be happy to get a new start..and if the wife is still in the house..I bet u anything she will agree to make it new again..
This was a Terrible Murder. I understand when hardship Occurs to Everyone. But to Murder Your Wife and Himself is just Crazy. Thank God his older Daughter and two siblings made it out alive. 👍
If I owned the house. I would replace the window in front/along side the staircase with a stained glass image of the Virgin Mary looking down towards the front door as if she was blessing any one entering the house.
I love that plan! It would certainly rid the house of ghosts, cover the ugly staircase, and, well... stain glass is just awesome to begin with. Win. Win. Win! Thanks for watching!
