Joe Larson I don’t think so, not that I know of anyway. We only get sea bass and we’re not allowed to keep them.

My pb bass is a large mouth that I could in lake nippising and it was 2.5 to 3lbs but I am also a younger fisherman me being 11 and starting when I was 6 so hopefully I can catch bigger fish and also my pb pike is 2 lbs

I've come to the conclusion that I'm addicted to Jon B. Fishing videos. Each one is better than the last. Although I do enjoy the throwbacks once in awhile. Inspiring me to start my own channel next spring. Should join me on the CT river in NH slammin smallmouth on topwater.

Its a different species and in its natural habitat but still small. Cichla temensis gets up to 26.5 pounds and 3.14 feet. Its the biggest cichlid in the world

to om ya the Florida ones don't get to big. Pretty sure they have the same species in Panama on the canals I didn't catch any big ones and I think the biggest my dad caught was 3-4lbs

I had a peacock bass in a 110-gallon tank for years. He knew my face--came looking for his eight daily goldfish whenever he saw me. Smart fish. He got to 18 inches in that tank--maybe two pounds. Once I heard him splash from upstairs. I checked on him an hour later. He had jumped out. His skin was crinkled an dry. I threw him back in the tank. Aside from a small skin-infection that left a scar, he was just fine.

I'm brazilian and P. bass is suprisingly intelligent. There are places in Brazil with clear water and many P. bass, but, because people get used to fish a lot in a specific place, sometimes this fish just does not go for the bait anymore. When they reproduce, they stop eating. Like Tilapia, P. bass also protect their little ones against any predator by hiding them inside the mouth. Both male and female share this behaviour. Fishing at this specific time you caught many hooked by the fin or tail, 'cause while one hide their babies, the other attacks the predator. The "açú/assu" type (there are around 8 sub species) is the biggest one, and found in Amazon. When they're red in the belly, they're mating. Before get adult, they have many white dots alongside the body.

Did anyone else notice the boil over Jon's right shoulder at (10:03)? Just before that something was ever so slightly chasing right up at the wood line. Er, Jon, (11:49) there WAS a fish there, right? lol Very Nice video Jon. Excellent in every way. Seeing this gives me such a nostalgia. I miss Venezuela (i know this is not Venezuela but it's literally the same haha) :( even the lures he gives you guys are spot on, propeller top water or "plums" jigs. My PB peacock was with a popper, but propeller and jigs are hands down the best in general.
