The yoshis being made by bowser Jr isn't a theory, it's a fact. In the offical mario guidebook, it states that bowser Jr created all of the enemies and yoshis in the game usin his paintbrush. That's why all the enemies look so weird in this game. Also, the reason they disappear in water is because: a) the yoshis are made of paint, in which we're shown is weak to water, and b) the paint wasnt able to recreate every creature perfectly. After all, he is just a little kid. So these little imperfections, like yoshis evaporating when touching water, are simply because of the mistakes of bowser Jr. The only reason they look much more detailed than the other enemies, though, is because bowser and bowser Jr grew up with yoshis in their childhood, as seen in the Yoshi's Island games and the Yoshi's Wooly World games.
Also, King Boo, similar to Yoshi, was made by Bowser Jr.'s paintbrush. So the theory that Luigi's Mansion is the sequel to SMS would be incorrect. However, it IS possible that Super Mario 64 DS could be the prequel, as when you rescue Luigi, King Boo tells you all of his plans that he hadn't gone through with yet. This could be the "trouble" he gave Mario.
Hm! I always chalked that line of King Boo’s up to “Mario was dicking around in Ghost Houses for forever by this point, and the Boos are King Boo’s subjects, so of course he hates him”. But the idea that Sunshine happens first never occurred to me! That’s very interesting.
It is interesting to note that the first thing you see on the title screen on Mario Sunshine, is the sun and some birds flying around. Which really does kinda tie that Mario 64 ending directly with how Sunshine begins.

The Yoshis being the creations of Bowser Jr. does make a lot of sense considering you first see a Yoshi Egg being held by him as Shadow Mario. He was even disappointed that he didn’t get a chance to ride it after being caught by Mario. I also believe there was an official encyclopedia book that mentions this theory; unfortunately, the book had some inaccuracies in its own right, so take it with a grain of salt. ADDENDUM: AND I almost forgot the fact Yoshis were originally supposed to come out of graffiti similar to how some Strollin’ Stus spawn! There’s a whole model and animation of it in the Cutting Room Floor. Of course, that’s beta content, but it gives so much credence that Delfino Yoshis are graffiti creations but are the only ones that happened to turn against their creator out of pure luck!

25:46 also the multiplayer mod you show off uses the unused code for the multiplayer mode, the multiplayer mode itself is only in the game though the coded camera zooming out for 2 players and animations for shadow mario being able to do a bunch of Mario’s moves for the multiplayer. Who knows if it was planned for the entire game for just something else entirely tho
13:00 I wouldn't be surprised if it was the other way around. Looking at how they ended SM64 with the sun panoramic, maybe that on itself moved them in that directional. With long series you see it all the time that foreshadowing is not only just planning ahead, but looking back at what you did and building up on any vague threads you left along the way.
I still really wanna see the Spaceworld beta re-emerge one day. In particular, I wanna see the mysterious human NPC family who you would perform tasks for, the Delfino Express or more of Tramplin' Stu.
That scrapped multiplayer thing reminds me of Bowser’s Fury, since the second player has different mechanics involving Bowser Jr and his brush, they even used cat “shines” as the collectibles
The last entry is incredibly interesting, as Slaptoon started life as a Mario game. Maybe the Wii prototype was one of the first iterations of what Slaptoon would become.
Common misconception- Splatoon did not start as a Mario game. It was always its own game, but, the designers had trouble coming up with their own unique characters. Rabbits, humans, etc… nothing stuck. So they went to Miyamoto, and he immediately suggested “Hey, use Mario if you can’t think of anything else”. They tried, but didn’t jive with it. Then they tried squids, which turned into the Inklings!

Ok, while obviously the Mandela Effect one feels....y'know...like a lie, I still can totally believe that happened based on personal experience, cause while the Mandela Effect is mainly just misremembering and tied to being forgetful, I think that OP on that post may have combined some of their memories. Because I remember this one time I was trying to remember a specific game, and constantly looked up the events in the game, then I found it finally, only to realize that one of the events I looked up wasn't actually in the game....and was infact in another game, that is completely goddamn different. So the brain can just straight up combine memories and re-structure them to fit with the rest.
Something I noticed about the Il Piantissimo conspiracy.. in your last video, you showed a clip of the running man putting what looked to be a book into one of the mailboxes. That book looks awfully similar to the book at the bottom of the old man’s bottle level, and Il makes an appearance in that level as well. Thought that might be something worth mentioning! I love watching things about Sunshine, but I absolutely hated playing it. Two words - blooper racing. The clip that just played reminded me about it, blooper racing is up there with the absolute worst thing to ever be in ANY game. I'd rather be forced to 100% that shitty Alien game (colonial Marines I think) or Metal Gear Survive than do even one blooper race.
9:48 There are several competing companies that used to publish these kinds of 4‐panel comic anthologies. I enjoyed going into book shops looking for new issues of 4コママンガ劇場 from Enix, 4コマまんが王国 from Futabasha and 4コマギャグバトル from Kōbunsha. They are officially licensed products of course but are by no means “canon” to the source video games’ lore. They flourished mainly in the Famicom, Super Famicom and N64 eras, and 2000s was when they died down. In early years they had some weird comics with peculiar styles but later they became more in line with the source game. Super Mario Sunshine was one of the final titles that got these kinds of adaptations. Apart from that there were several longform manga series. One of them is Super Mario‐kun by Sawada Yukio‐sensei which is still going strong.
On the subject of the 'Mandela Effect' i don't care what anybody says the Berenstein Bears WERE called the Berenstein Bears when i was growing up, NOT Berenstain, i know this cause i was actually a huge fan of this series as a kid and even back then i always thought it was strange that it was spelled 'Berenstein'. Those who think this is just bad memory don't know wtf they're talking about, unless you were born in the 80's or early 90's you have no idea how weird this feels, it WAS Berensein NOT Berenstain, i don't know how, but it was.
I wouldn't be shocked if the Mario FPS was some sort of predecessor to Link's Crossbow Training. Not in the sense that it was a prototype for the game, Link's Crossbow Training we know started development as a Zelda game, but it was originally requested as a game "set in the world of Twilight Princess." The intention on being for it to be a spinoff, but the team interpreted the request differently and kept pitching grand ideas for a sequel to Twilight Princess. That was when Miyamoto suggested they build the game around the Wii Zapper which eventually lead to the final game. What I mean by the Mario FPS being the predecessor to Link's Crossbow Training is simply that, perhaps the idea of designing a game around the zapper was an idea they'd experimented with before using the Mario IP and that's why Miyamoto suggested using the peripheral. Had Link's Crossbow Training never been made, maybe we would've seen a similar game using the Mario franchise?
I feel like if anyone believes that Mario Sunshine was foreshadowed in the ending of Mario 64 they would be so stupid and deserve to be trapped in a room that gradually loses oxygen
Tbh a super mario fps isnt as wild a concept as it sounds. Back in the 90s nintendo released a super scope mario themed light gun game for the SNES called Yoshis Safari. Its considered one of the best games for the super scope even though its quite short. Theres video playthroughs of it on youtube

The "Mario Sunshine is actually a dream" theory is so weak, we already have a game that is actually set in a dream, Super Mario 2, if the game was truly in a dream the game itself would be very straight forward about it, after all this is a Mario game not Eternal Sonata.
