exploring vine stars living in a post vine world
Hey guys welcome back to the channel! this week i thought it could be fun to take a little walk down ~memory lane~ and check up on some of vine’s biggest creators such as lele pons, piques, hannah stocking and amanda cerny! i know im definitely not the only one who misses vine but i think the app dying resulted in a lot of people (myself included) forgetting just how terrible some vines were on the app... especially the ones made by the app’s most popular creators for some reason. so considering all of them have moved onto different platforms, i thought it could be fun to check out their new content on whichever platform they’ve moved on to and see if they’ve changed it up at all and if they’ve been able to recreate their vine success in other places on the internet. hopefully you guys have fun watching, while filming this was slightly painful i had so much fun editing this one so hopefully you guys enjoy it! of course if you do feel free to subscribe and become a sweaty :-) and give the video a like! anyways i’ll see y’all in the comments :P
also yes, im aware of the strand of hair that starts to go rogue halfway through the video... remind me to never try teasing the back of my hair before filming without checking if it looks bad ever again.

Either way, if you look at reviews of her book you’ll see that she’s obnoxious and overplays her “Latina” vibe to the point that she states it in every chapter and every video. thats literally nothing like a sorority at all. also the paddle is for your “big” sister, its like who you get paired with for a big almost like a mentor to help you throughout college and be there for you. we make them a decorative paddle as their gift, its just something cute.

I never experienced a sorority and knew nothing about them. But this past Friday a woman called in crying and very upset because a jacket she bought her little had no patches in it, and she was explaining what it meant and how bad she felt this kid was walking around for two years in life with a blank jacket like she meant nothing to her, and she wanted to know what recourse she had against the merchant and.... Now I have great respect for sorority sisters. She really touched my heart, and I had no idea how beautiful and caring an environment they have. Thanks for this explanation

The whole trope of the nerd getting teased and called a loser by the popular kids is so funny to me because they're NEVER that blunt in real life. It's always passive aggressive or fake kindness. In my experience as a nerdy introvert, it's always: "Oh so you like to read and do math? That's sooo interesting" *badly hidden giggling with friends* "Oh my god, you like, never talk. Do you hate us all or something, haha. Oh my god I'm just kidding, don't take it so personal" "You know, I really admire how you like, don't care about anyone's opinion. Like how you come to school dressed like that and dont go to any parties. So cool that you're being yourself!" "What are you reading? ...Oh wow, looks reeeeeeaally interesting! Re: the paddles. Most sororities have banned them because they were used for hazing back in the day (big yikes), but the ones that still allow them decorate them within an inch of their life as a gift for new members usually for Initiation or big/little week. A lot of fraternities still give them and I wouldn't be surprised if they're used for hazing

So paddles are like decorative plaques a younger member makes for an older member that they are super close to and it like a really good friend/sister to them. THEY SHOULD NOT BE EVER USED FOR HITTING. A lot of organizations have even banned them because of the possibility of negative connotations

I was in a sorority in college (still a member technically) and yes the paddles were traditionally for spanking the new members. They are still decorated for big sisters by their little sisters, with or without the hazing.
