VT 24 maybe they want to make Lebron look better, but I don’t think it’s this huge conspiracy where Lebron secretly got blocked on 500 dunks they are trying to cover it up, honestly it’s just a really weird fucking stat in general with a huge grey zone, they prolly went by the box scores (like it was already mentioned here), but even if you would take all these into consideration and it be, let’s say, 30 blocked dunks, that would be still impressive, I just don’t see what the big advantage would be to change it from 20-30 to 9 blocked dunk attempts
@vt248
@vt248 5 лет назад
@@nikstawrogin9998 oh no doubt, even 100 blocks out of 1850's a high success rate. Be that as it may, it all goes back to the original premise here, why did ESPN & FS1 go out of their way to create a narrative that what happened to lebron was this rarest of anomalies and it just makes him all the more great instead of appreciating Allen's play on him?? Its my theory, they protect him at all costs, even if they have to make things up and take them out of context...like Nick Wright calling Jordan "inefficient scoring" and how they defocate on Kobe's legacy using revisionist history saying he was "carried by Shaq."

Why would you think all players have a similar rate? There is literally no reason to believe that. Pretty much every stat has dramatic variance in the NBA due to different builds. I'd be willing to be by far the highest rate would be a combo guard that has a high vert but can be caught at a bad timing. Think Donavan Mitchell, Westbrook, D Wade. Guys who are uniquely long for their position will have the upper advantage like Durant, even when caught on shitty timing. Outliers for lowest probably would be Kyle Korver types that only dunk when wide open.

The most pathetic thing is Lebron is an otherwise great player. He's a top 20 guy to play the game, he's one of the 10 best SF's ever. There's absolutely no need for ridiculous hyperbole and flat out misinformation to overinflate how good he is. And especially no need to minimize his career achievements by comparing him to VASTLY more accomplished and vastly higher skilled players such as Michael Jordan, Larry Bird or Kobe Bryant. For anyone wondering, Lebron has been blocked 857 times in his regular season career and 186 times in his playoff career for a grand total of 1,043 of his total shot attempts blocked. Definitely not 9. Dwight Howard has blocked Lebron wayyyyy more than 9 times by himself.

your becoming my favorite channel, the media will do any and everything to make lebron look great its because they backed the wrong horse and they gotta keep him on top so they won't look foolish.

Some of these dunks that you say he got blocked on, he missed the dunk or he just threw it at the rim.

Fair enough hey but also if the other guy gets a block registered in his stats than it's a block.

The one block the broadcasters said it didnt look like a foul so obvously they called foul which wouldnt count as a block on the box score and almost half the blocks you showed where in the playoffs so regular season and playoff stats are kept separate is my guess

Even as a Lakers fan this doesn't surprise me. I stopped listening to all sports media personality the year the Lakers aquired both Steve Nash and Dwight Howard. When Marcellus Wiley went on wax to say that the Lakers (Still a playoff team) had not won back to back games all year long. We finished with a record of 45-37 that year and still he makes an outrageous claim without even doing the math on such a simple topic? These media members don't speak facts, just opinions/numbers tossed down to make things more interesting tham what they are. Ever heard the term "They are 7-2 in their last 9 games." 9 games huh? What an oddly specific number to point out statistics. Talk about manipulating narratives.

Making contact with the rim eliminate blk status. Deflection at best. 5 of the official nine were fouls any way.

Some of these "blocks" are straight up missed dunks, others are "blocks" but with fouls (does that even count) but thank you for the content, it's always good to fact check information. Btw I would never believe he was only blocked nine times.

They had to sell a storyline. There's comfort in lying. The truth will be never be enough. Our minds will always choose the "better" option, than to just accept the truth.

Some of these wasnt blocks. ESPN made the stat and the video. You believe the stat but not the video??? And its only like 15 blocks total. Point them out. Maybe the Henderson plau wasnt a block but the Yao Ming play damn sure was. The Marcus Smart play was. How many blovks did you count?
@Marsalisbury

Them lying about his stats isn't gonna get him another ring though, so... People embellish the truth about anything that they like, it's part of life. For example, there's a lot of people out there that think McDonald's is the best place to get a burger. Statistics certainly show that it could be, but does that mean it is... to everyone? Of course not, but that isn't going to stop people from saying it.

@Marsalisbury
@Marsalisbury 5 лет назад
@@lacya.716 That's what I'm saying, the truth is that he hasn't been blocked on a lot of dunk attempts in his entire career. The embellishment would be adding a definitive number of 9 times; it doesn't necessarily discredit the whole statement but bolsters it a little bit.
