In real time, 15 year old me thought it should’ve been a tie bc I was in equally in awe of Lavine's grace on his dunks and Gordon's creativity on his. But in retrospect, Gordon clearly got robbed as his mascot dunks were clearly better than Lavine's "free throw line" dunks
The main reason basketball end up popular because we celebrate athletic ability beyond a normal person, such as jordan where it makes people wonder can human really fly in the air? How fast can human be? Of course there were secondary reason when crowd started to enjoy it like strategies etc, it has nothing to do with sex at all, if someone from wnba fly up and dunk from the freethrow line, I’m 100% positive it will get the same amount of ratings is it not? Instead of giving ridiculous reason “dunk is not the only excitement in basketball” get to your training and fly, over pampered girls which had no ideas how tough life is, complaint will not bring u anywhere 😓
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-e4ivATsY08s.htmlsi=TXr1B3JWvMsSzrMr That's okay we're done with basketball altogether because of the 2010s and 2020s You all call this "skillful"?
the fact that they needed the illegal defense rule, shows how unskilled they are, cause the needed it to create spacing, cause most guys back then cant shoot.
So well done... both Rodman's performance & this video! I've been waiting for someone else to say such things since I watched this series when I was 11.
Melo was w glorified scorer, wasn’t a good team leader, not a great 2 way player (or barely gave effort on defense) would’ve benefited from playing alongside Billups as a rookie.
R WE GOING TO JUST SIT HERE AND IGNORE THE FACT THAT IVERSON WENT UP AGAINST 4 HALL OF FAME SHOOTING GUARDS(the position he plays himself) DURING THE BEST ERA OF SHOOTING GUARDS IN HISTORY I CANT THINK OF ANOTHER TIME IN HISTORY THIS HAPPENED
people do have to realize that what makes Allen Iverson a legend is not only his scoring, even though if you think he actually wasn’t that great he will always be a legend of the game and that’s the legacy that matters
I can’t agree that Muggsy wouldn’t play today. Good luck dribbling the ball behind the halfcourt as a 6.7/6.8 pointguard with this pestiest pest in front of You.
You just proved us right. You can make more points with today's rules. So MJ was making 50 and 60 points with rules that allowed less movement and less points. So he'd make even MORE POINT TODAY! You proved our point.
@@dominicharris5489 the comment is not for those that can't critically think. Watch the video again. Listen slowly. Then read my comment. If you still don't get it, then you just ain't got it.
@@kamargee9680 u not good at trying to sound smart. my comment was because your comment didnt make much sense. no one was proven right🤣🤣and its 'score' points not 'make point', einstein
@dominicharris5489 it didn't make sense to you because you aren't bright. I gave you instructions and you still don't get it. You are remedial. You probably can't even write in cursive
Bird and Magic make their teammates noticeably Better!!! LeBronze never Did that and his teams have Struggled in the Finals. No chance of a Dynasty with Everybody suffering For LeBronze and a Wasteland when he Leaves
Dumbest take ever. 90s defined an era and if it wasn't for it and the one's before it, there would be no NBA. If you don't like it that's fine it's your opinion, but don't make videos trying to tell people why they shouldn't.
I don’t think he’s necessarily calling anyone dumb for liking the era or enjoying 90’s games persay, but it does sound like he argues that that generations biggest proponents overrate the talent pool of the league in that time. One thing I would argue regardless though is that the broadcasts were covered in a more engaging manner through the NBA on NBC than they have been more recently.
if thats what u got from this video then God bless you. I dont think a video can be more informative, plain spoken and factual for u to say this nonsense in response.
@@dominicharris5489The video isnt informative. He discusses overrated defenders but refuses to elaborate who they are. We also have Hakeem and non Jordan fans I recognize responding.
People in the past were a-lot smarter than people of today's era. People loved their home town teams or any other teams. But it wasn't about a single player, hardly even then. Jordan wanted to be known and remembered for playing with the Chicago bulls not for his own attributes. He's not like that, people, the media , fans, they are all like that or should I say most people I read on line are always debating on who's better and who's not and they seem to forget that all those guys play for a team, not by themselves.
Jordan only said anything about the defense to David Stern about how vicious and hard he was getting fouled by the Detroit Pistons. By the way it wasn't Jordan who necessarily complained to commissioner David Stern. It was the the NBA committee and the commissioner that came to Jordan and said we're going to make some changes so that you and the rest of the league is not sabotage by being fouled while driving in to the lane. They saw it and told Jordan hopefully this can benefit you and others by not getting hurt by these hard fouls, now there will be consequence's for that type of behavior and that was it, but Jordan himself never cried to anyone about it. It's just was made or understood by some people in today's era.
I can’t remember which game. Possibly game 2 or 3 but the commentators were asking for coach Phil Jackson to bench Rodman. And the refs eventually kicked Rodman out of the game. That isn’t MVP basketball. That’s Rodmans own brand of basketball 😂. He was either committing a foul, or airing a foul.
I understand that Rodman was absolutely the guy that the bulls needed and I'd possibly would consider him as MVP but Rodman on any other team is not an MVP, not for the pistons and not for the spurs. I understand Rodman on the bulls is a different beast but all the same MJ is MVP. Rodman is hard to replace but not as hard as it is to replace MJ. The thing is Rodman is so good at his position that he basically takes up 2 positions of PF and C but MJ is so good that he takes up PG, SG, and SF. Rodman is great but without MJ they lose and without Rodman they still possibly win. Like if you take out Rodman and insert Hakeem then you win but if you take out MJ and replace with Penny or Grant Hill then it's not a guarantee but still a likely possibility. Grant Hill is probably the most MJ at the time but he was a baby. No disrespect with the baby remark, he was just new and inexperienced compared to MJ. Mitch Richmond would probably be a better replacement but does anyone think either would be enough? Wherever you send MJ will be a finals contender IMO. Not the same with Rodman. I respect the acknowledgement though.
The NBA of the 1990’s may be overrated in some regards as far as a talent pool goes. But there is one thing that isn’t criticized here that that generation should be praised for after the last few years: The presentation of the league through the NBA on NBC in the 90’s was much better than the way the finals are covered now. Even the ABC of the 2000’s did a better job than they have lately.
