hmm....when growing up my elder sister was a world class liar and manipulator, everyone used to fall for this exact kind of thing, somehow though....perhaps after seeing it all my life, it didn't effect me. My sister still does it to this day, she doesn't talk to me or even like having me near by because whenever she lies or manipulates I call her directly on her bullshit without mercy and she cant handle it. I never really thought about it until now but this trait has also affected me in my romantic relationships; Whenever I was with a partner that tried to lie or manipulate me I was always able to cut straight through it and they would always be off put by this, like I was somehow immune to their only weapon. Now in my life the women I have dealt with in the resent years like to make the claim that im 'cold' and 'disconnected from my feelings' however, frankly I feel that the opposite is the case. Many of them don't ever seem to take the time to consider the 'other' persons feelings or to even consider that they are human beings at all.

The day I discovered my ex cheating on me after 6 years and a 2 y/o daughter... The women JUMPED ON ME yelling "please hold me!!" "please!! HUG me"... "Everything is going to be all right!"... I told her sternly: DO NOT COME NEAR ME OR TOUCH ME.. Because I'm not in the USA (different law system) I managed to preserve ALL my assets. Take heed brothers, there are DANGEROUS women out there..

I was just a roof over her head. She even tried to use the kids against me. She tried to get me to sign away my rights. She didn't care about the kids either. If she had, she'd still be trying to talk to them. Never again will I be that fool

Damn. Watching this woman's tactics really brought back when I broke up with my ex at University after she took a train to mine when I told her not to come. Took me 3 hours to get her out the door. I never realised the extent of the manipulation I underwent until now.

I never realized how badly my ex was manipulating me until recently. I thought it was just her drug addiction driving her to do things, but she did a lot of things that just didn’t make sense to me. I have realized that those things where about maintaining control over me. They were small and meaningless things to me, but people like that must always have a sense of control, no matter how petty and meaningless the situation is. So if you are with a woman that does that, is on top of you just for the sake of being on top of you, you’d better believe you are only seeing the tip of the iceberg to what’s actually going on.

Just came across this video. As a 40 year old man I've witnessed the gamut of attempted and successful female manipulation, and I agree that it cannot be catalogued because it is an instinct as old as human sentience. Females are interestingly wired already, but with the male/female social construct they have developed very niche survival tactics specific to (and often relying on) their gender and sex. It's fascinating, and it also underlines why innocence and traditional looks have gained a greater desire from men in recent generations. I remember in high school there was very pretty girl named Kelly. Not hot or with large attributes, just pretty and innocent and very sweet to everyone. I can only imagine her horror if she knew that every boy in school considered her off limits because none of us deserved her and she never dated until after she graduated. The strange effects our base instincts have on our sentient minds, our most animal sexuality plays out in ways that we don't even realize, and men are so deeply wired to it that we are essentially blind.

Notice how she goes from distraught little girl (on the phone) saying she needs help, and then quickly soon after she turns into an assertive mother type who sounds disappointed in him.

The two biggest tactics to watch out for: -Women muddying the waters, obscuring the main topic of the conversation with baseless mundanity. -Appearing weak, afraid or in need of protection. Plays heavily into our evolutionary role to the point where men feel guilty if they leave a woman in need. The whole "come see me" part of the phone conversation really hit home with me. Cannot even begin to count how many times I've heard that, especially with the woman who did highly abuse me (and should be in prison, but is unfortunately not).

My mom is an incredibly manipulative person. Just a few weeks ago she had a two hour long incredibly circular argument with my little brother about why he wouldn't participate in a theater production she wanted him in. They went around in circles for hours and hours and hours, and every time he said he just didn't want to do it my mom would probe more, gather more information about how he was feeling, and then repurpose that information to pull him in again and eventually just wear him down until after two hours he said yes. I've come to see this behavior as normal due to being around it so much, and as a woman myself maybe I'm just less susceptible to it. I've known manipulative men as well but also many many manipulative women who get away with manipulating men for their entire lives and get a pass for it due to being female (like a wolf in sheep's clothing); but also I've seen women be accused of being manipulative just for expressing emotions, which I think is a symptom of originally having a true female manipulator in your life. But as to the argument my little brother had with my mom, he continually made the mistake of offering up more feelings, more emotions, more information for my mom to play off of. I don't know why he doesn't just say no to her from the beginning and then weather her questions without actually answering them. That's what I do whenever my mom starts fishing for information about school and my love life is give the shortest answer possibly and she leaves me alone in like 10 seconds flat (albeit with pushback but still). Compared to in the past, our conversations could go on for hours and hours because every question I would answer with my honest feelings about myself which would unravel another hour of stories about how everything I think and feel is wrong fully focused on my parent's life experiences. I feel for everyone in the comments here who has manipulative parents. I truly feel like detaching and shutting down manipulations is a skill that can be learned and I"m glad this video helped people with that who need to hear it. Manipulation is such a common human behavior sometimes we don't even realize it's happening until weeks, months, or even years past and we realize we've spent so much of it being someone we are not because someone manipulated us into constantly doing things we knew we didn't want to do. But nonetheless it is a struggle that can be overcome. Wishing you all the best.

The more you talk the more a random memory pops up where I KNOW I wasn’t a bad guy but the girl would always find a way to flip it on me so she didn’t have to feel bad by forcing herself to see me as the bad guy. That’s basically why Nice Guys always lose. You’re so naive to manipulation when you’re a Nice Guy.

Women don't want to argue if you have facts.

My experience with women is that they manipulate primarily in two ways - find a man's biggest weakness - the thing of which is is most ashamed, and be prepared to emasculate him with that when needed. Secondly, appeal to his desires - but not his fondest desires in most cases, give him a bit of what he needs but never everything, even if you can. It is the heaven/hell dichotomy except that the hell is real, and heaven is like wishing for Disneyland and winding up at the County Fair.
