Hi chums, Thank you so much for watching and for leaving such great comments! I would just like to point out that although Clue markets itself as a 'female health app', and I repeat that in this video, not only those who identify as women have periods and you don't have to have periods to be a woman. As I said, the Clue website (www.helloclue.com) and the app is really inclusive! ChandlerNWilson has a great video about this: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LWA53LU4xcI.html J xxx

Ketoprofen 100 mg (sold under the name Orudis) worked for me. I have to take it before the migraine starts. But, I usually get some warning about 20 minutes before the migraine, when my vision becomes blurry.

I have the worst case of migraines with all the beautiful migraine aura before. I lose my vision, can't move any of the limbs, can't speak and sometimes even understand what people are talking to me. There's one substance that is working for me and it's name is Flunarizine. I haven't had a migraine in a year, at least the aura, had some headaches but the pain wasn't as acute as before. I think you should try it, maybe it'll help you!

I'm so sorry you have to go through that. :( If it's an consolation I bleed so heavily on my period now because of blood thinners I need to stay on while I have premenstrual dysmorphic disorder and was already severely anemic prior to taking the blood thinners. My pill managed all my agony and now when my period hits I can't go to work for two days as it always hits a thursday and during those two days Ic annot stand up because I lose so much blood I faint. XD I also take about 3 weeks to fully recover to do the things I need to do and things I love to do. So after my hemoglobin consistently plummeting my doctors FINALLY believed me when I said it's Texas Chainsaw Massacre style. XD So hopefully this coming month things will be normal. BC I literally drop fist size clots and it's watery and just I go through so many towels and dont eat because I feel so horrible lol. I used to love my period, now i think about braining myself every month. o.o

I’m so embarrassed 😅 I was extremely confused for a stupid amount of time about why you’d need to use Clue. For some reason my mind always imagined that a person who transitioned to male would simply not get periods anymore. I forget that transitioning doesn’t always include hormone replacement. So then I thought maybe you meant you were transitioning to female and using Clue to practice for when you will get the periods, and I was like omg you’re so committed! Ok, my brain hurts now but I’m glad you’re able to use Clue in a non-gendered way. I’m gonna download it too! Edit: ok I’m an idiot I realized you probably can’t get periods if you are a trans female even with hormones b/c of the uterus. Honestly I wish no one in the world would have to get damn periods and our bodies would just text us each month- like, hey, you’re not pregnant, love you bye till next month
@mariaeastcoast3271
@mariaeastcoast3271 4 года назад
Thekla Kennei can you expand on this? I have a friend who is M to F, and having hormone issues. This could be helpful. But before recommending I’d like some additional info.

My son is trans and uses this app as well. Because the imagery and all of that is very neutral and not gendered it has been wonderful for him. Periods can cause dysphoria for trans masculine people (whether trans male or nonbinary masculine like my kid) but this particular app can make it less stressful to track it all.
@emilypresleysee
@emilypresleysee 4 года назад
@@mariaeastcoast3271 I don't know how helpful or useful it would be if she doesn't have a uterus or ovaries. It is a menstrual cycle tracker. It does track emotions, physical state, meds etc so it may work for that but there may be something better suited out there.

Also "Everyone else was asleep: they were five." made me laugh xD

Clue is amazing! The feelings and unmotivated/productive aspects helped me change the way I feel about myself--I'm better at not being so hard on me now. On another note, I know everyone's body is different, but something that helped personally with my unbearable cramps is acupuncture treatments. It kind of reset my body, made my bleeding alot lighter, and now I only get about 4 hours of cramps instead of a couple days being curled up on the floor softly screaming. Obvs check with your doctor before seeking any new treatment. Putting my experience out there in case it helps any uterus-owning friends

I am a nonbinary person who gets really awful periods and I decided that while I don't really date people (and therefore have no risk of pregnancy), I didn't deserve the monthly pain. I went to the doctor and they scheduled an appointment to get an IUD and after a few months, I barely spotted and the pain decreased dramatically. I recommend them for most people who have bad periods and don't plan to get pregnant in the next five years (after the IUD is removed it's perfectly easy to get pregnant if you want, so I've heard). They're not an option for everyone, but they have such a low dose of hormones because they are already at the site of action that they rarely have any mood effects. 💜💜💜

I get week-long migraines/fibro flares with my periods too, but thankfully I only get them 3-4 times a year because I'm on pill for months at a time. I told my doctor about my migraines and she prescribed me an estradiol patch to wear when I'm not taking my active pills. It's been an absolute miracle, it's helped SO much! As long as I get the timing right and keep it on my skin the entire time, the flares are minimal.

I know it’s not really the topic of the video but I wanted to comment on how effectively you summed up a major issue with our health system when you mentioned being discharged from the migraine clinic due to missing an appointment with a migraine. I have so many suspected health issues that have never been looked into because l’m too ill to attend appointments. The, you can only only re-arrange appointments up to 3 times, has always struck me as silly when, by the very nature of the thing, they are dealing with sick people who may have symptom flare ups! I do understand that it wastes their resources when people miss appointments but I always try to give plenty of notice and you’d think there would be some way to be a little more forgiving when people are honestly too sick to get out of bed!

I always had hard irregular periods so I went on birth control when I was 16. I was removed from it during cancer treatment. I went 8 months without my period, they approved it and after pills to force my period was fine until once again I was removed. It’s been one year sans period and I’m terrified what this one will be. I have pots and severe migraines as well as other things so I’m excited to try this. Any tips are greatly appreciated! ❤️❤️❤️

Shala Carter I am cancer free! You’re so right, like attracts like. I haven’t had my period in over a year and they are going to essentially induce it again and then I’ll start some type of birth control. I’m just scared of how bad it will be. When I went 7 months it was a week and a half of heavy bleeding and severe pain. I ended up quite anemic and hospitalized. I’ve found the greatest advice on her comment sections so I thought I’d see if anyone had any for dealing with it 💙💙

I had a similar experience. Somehow with having a baby and then being on an anti-depressant and having another baby, I ended up not having a period for a long time. I know this makes no sense. I am not telling this correctly. Suffice it to say that after I did get my period, it was really heavy. That was the first time I used tampons because I needed them and the heaviest napkin. That went on for a while. Then, my new ob said I could have an ablation which is like burning the interior of your uterus or I could have a partial hysterectomy. I went with option B. But, I was in my late forties by then. I can certainly see why you are worried about having the heavy bleeding and pain again and I don't really seem to have anything helpful to say except, I've been there and I hope that it goes well for you! xo

first of all thank you for the story about the guest bed, i really need to hear about others having such experiences because i've bled over things, places, situations that are all types of inconvenient and i still can't fully shake off the shame of it (my cycle is super ffkn irregular i live in constant vigilance); that said your tale was well told, in my mind it played out like a bruce willis action movie, i guess it could've been worse cause when you said you called for help that was a better transition than what i thought would happen: them finding you after having folllowed the trail. i hope there was no trail at all. i know what it's like and i would not wish a trail on anyone.

I love Clue and have used it for nearly a year now (funnily enough after another youtuber promoted it), and as pleased as I am to see the app getting out there and you getting well-earned sponsorship money, I really would've liked to have seen some hint that this was sponsored *before* I clicked on it, like [AD] in the title and/or in a corner of the thumbnail. Sorry to be a spoilsport, it just seems a bit misleading that people don't know until they've already contributed to the viewer count.

Hi Jessica, One of my biggest issues with migraines IS period migraines. They were so bad I was non-functioning as I would throw up and be in bed for five days. I was referred to an OBGYN that specializes in pain and was given an IUD. No periods = No Period Migraines. No cramps. No fatigue from periods. It’s awesome.

I'm lucky not to have to deal with any major physical pain associated with my periods, which I'm grateful for since it's clearly not the case for so many, and I hope you can find a solution for those awful migraines (my cousin's husband has pretty bad ones, and my brother used to have milder ones, and they sound really painful) ! For me the problem would be on the mental health side of things. Because of post-traumatic stress (PTSD) I have anxiety issues and am quite prone to depression, and I'm really beginning to wonder if there's a PMS element added to the mix, since they sometimes seem to get much much worse for none of the usual reasons ! Had a look at the app and this could be an excellent way of keeping track of things (I really like the reminders feature) and maybe working out what's going on, so thank you very much for this video !! ☺️

One that might be worth a discussion in conjunction with your team, is feverfew (plant not necessarily tablets) for the migraines. With my ABI balance and stuff can be a major issue, as can energy levels (you've got POTS you'll have a similar idea what it's like to be in my body too). Initially I was on Paramax when I started getting period related migraines and they do zonk it, but unfortunately they zonk you too. Mum read up on feverfew and I came off the Paramax and onto the Feverfew to get through my GCSE mocks because the Paramax were getting me into trouble for dosing off a lot in school. The dosage is as many leaves as will make a fistful for the person with the headache. You either put them into a plain bread sandwich (no butter etc) with either a sprinkle of salt or sugar (whichever is your preference), or you can take them steeped for a few minutes in hot water either alone, or with a tsp of honey. 1997 was when I switched. The following week I bought the paramax back to the pharmacy and I've never looked back. It's perhaps one to have a conversation about? It's a chamomile so ridiculously easy to grow in a pot too.

I used Clue before I started taking birth control (and now I get a period once every three months). It was incredibly helpful, and had a ton of reminders you could set (like a reminder to take your birth control). It adapts to your period after a certain amount of time instead of using the whole "always every 28 days" method. I highly recommend it.

I’ve used the Clue app for like, two years??? (I think) and it’s honestly the best thing I’ve ever downloaded. I don’t often add data other than when my period starts/ends, but it’s so nice to have a concrete record of when it happened, and will likely happen again

Mirena coil changed my life. I used to have heavy, painful, migraine inducing periods and 7 years ago I had this oil put in and I haven’t had a period, cramp or period migraine since. I feel like I’m living life as a male!!! But, you know, with pretty dresses. So so so happy now. I’ve probably saved so much money, been so good for the environment and saved so much time because of it. It doesn’t work for everyone but it is the best thing I did for myself! 😍

I wanted Mirena to take away my periods but instead my body rebelled and my periods were actually more painful. I developed cysts and acne and my fibromyalgia flared for the entire 7 months I had the coil. It was hell. I'm happy for the people it works for. I just wish I was one of them.

Migraines are absolutely the worst. I've had to take so many exams while having a migraine. Recently I have been taking multiple probiotics since my gut is absolutely wrecked because of my illness that was untreated for 15 years. And I found that it really helped! Since starting one that is specifically made to combat migraines I've barely had any. I don't know if it will work for everyone, but it has certainly made my life so much easier (plus my illness finally being treated also helps a lot in general)

Ah the dreaded menstrual cycle - I was a chronic migraine/cluster headache and also rebound headache (due to drugs treatment) sufferer but that aside the monthly cycle was the absolute worst for me. Migraines in the form of face-aches and the top of my head would feel like it was going to erupt like a volcano, diarrhoea, vomiting, fever feeling like i am going to spontaneously combust at any point and I suffered for years. During my period i would have to have a fan blowing at my head constantly and couldn’t handle light or smells. In the end after numerous drugs which came with side effects , i demanded a referral to the Integrated Medicine Hospital in London and had a holistic consultation there where they went through my whole lifestyle, diet (which is important with this) and i was prescribed acupuncture and made some diet and lifestyle changes. This sorted the whole problem and some other ones out. I also noticed that multi-B supplements and magnesium help too with migraines. I am totally drug free now and have only occasional migraines when i hav ébène burning the candle at both ends. I hope you get some relief soon x
@maiaautumne2167
@maiaautumne2167 5 лет назад
I was initially under the Neurology and Neurosurgery hospital first but i found the drugs building up in my body were the cause of the rebound headaches and other issues (massive weight loss, hair loss, bowel issues, seizures etc). It’s not a quick fix but being drug free and taking control of my own health is the best!
