I worked in disability, and you learn really quick to respect people for who they are and not how nice you expect them to be. Fortunately, there weren't many assholes either. Their carers/family members were often more stressed and harder to deal with. It was a cool job.
Dee, Thank you. As a mom of an Autistic adult, I'm glad that you explained that for the people who don't know or understand part of the communication factor for Autistic people are. It can be frustrating as a parent who has a higher functioning Autistic child (adult) to even remember that I'm dealing with am Autism brain. I was one of the people who was a little irritated by it being used that way however, I got over it because I KNOW you don't mean any harm. But thanks again for the explanation.
I was working for this one company as a PCA and this client I had would get drunk on Mt shift. One day he was so drunk that he was Judy cursing me out while I was making him dinner. I would always check him when he'd do that bit THIS time he was so drunk that there was no point. He was belligerent and inappropriate. Then he ran into me with his wheelchair. I tried to give him another chance but I told my supervisor after him being extremely drunk, inappropriate and running into me with his wheelchair I was DONE. I ended up quitting that job after 4 shifts.
One of my aunts husbands was disabled via motorcycle accident and used a wheelchair but they were still able to be sexually active. Even tho he cannot walk his parts still receive pleasure 😅 so the chances he did have sexual contact is not very far fetched
Hawking was a genius scientist of our time and dealt with an unimaginably horrible condition. I wouldn't care if he DID have weird sexual hangups. He earned the right to a pass on that in my mind.
