NBA reporter Malika Andrews has been a polarizing figure since joining ESPN, getting mixed up in some interesting feuds in the league. Watch on to see all she's gotten involved in. Hope you enjoy! #malikaandrews #espn #nba
@@jeremiahhudson302I here you bro! f’ck well talking black men who found success doing it the right way! Until Stephen A starts carjacking and shooting other black men while speaking an unintelligent form of the English language we should keep name calling him until he submits and act like all of us American black men! 👍🏾.. I stand with you bruh! 👏🏽
She has no problem with Ime Udoka's name being publicized yet when calls for the name of the women to be publicized, she claims that that's victimizing women and that we do not know all the facts. Well she has no problem bringing up past allegations/associations of men at critical points of their lives(ie when they are about to get drafted or when they are about to get a head coaching job). We do not know all the facts of those cases either.
I wonder why players still talk to her???? Why is Chris Paul giving her interviews....I know Chris Paul is not naive and knows what's been said. Stop giving this chick interviews, NBA players are dumb sometimes. Freeze out the lady that has ill will towards you.
Fakelica Andrews and Steven A. ( We all know what the "A" stands for) are the most annoying reporters to watch. I immediately turn the channel whenever either one is on.
I’ve reached a point where it’s like ESPN can go straight to hell. I’m tired of hearing about this woman who I detest abhorrently. OUR league deserves better.
Lol I remember right before she got her big chance as a main presenter people were calling for her to get more recognition, this chick had the love of the people and squandered that shit faster than hell
Giannis walking out was great 😅. I can't stand that woman,;and what she did in the NBA draft this year was terrible, there was reason for that whatsoever
If more players took a stand against her it would make ESPN make a move but it seems like players are scared of being called sexist so they play the get along game. A lot of these players can be men on the court but not be men off it.
Oh Im not forgetting that one at all the dude mazulla paid his dues or changed himself after that didn't hear anything since then this woman Malika is immune to the word redemption she the type to press charges for having smelly breath
Imagine they fire her and bring on her sister. I remember when her sister was wearing her watch during an interview and Malika called her out on live TV. I was like, “ yep, this chick is a POS.”
I'd rather watch Malika ask serious questions than watch Charles or even Stephen A. kiss the butts of the league. Now, they will survive longer than Malika because they understand that they really work for the league and not ESPN or TBS. Malika hasn't figured that out yet.
Damn... the Greek freak just got up and walked out on hwr question. One of the best players in the NBA. If that didn't tell espn anything they will never get rid of her.
@@MitchMitch77-77 What does being raised by a single mom have to do with ignoring her ? Why would moms advise their sons to talk to her when she's toxic and has a negative agenda against black male athletes and I can believe their moms would advise them to not talk to her and I know my mom wouldn't want me talking to her. If they refuse to not talk to her , it's not gonna affect their careers @all but it may affect her career , though. P.S. You talk like all the players were raised by single moms and that's not true .... it's a typical stereotype from conservatives. Don't even respond cause, I am not making anymore comments.
She definitely has some Morality issues, particularly with her own self, ESPN will have some regrets with these changes , and it will come back to hunt them and the long run.
That poor Alabama player. If the investigation showed he was pretty much clear of wrongdoing, she should not have brought that up. That is a trash move. Here he is getting drafted #2 overall, having a great day and then have her vomit out that bs is unbelievable. He didn't do anything. If he did, he would be in court. What a disgusting human being. Hopefully, that Alabama player has a great healthy career in the NBA.
Her behavior in the job she is doing is perfectly fine. If these men don't want to be called out for their bad behavior then they should behave better.
First of all, only the haters hate her. And if anyone does hate her it's because she is stunningly beautiful. Intelligent. Well spoken. Steeped in excellence. Marry me Malika!!!!!!!!!! Go Dub Nation '23-24
What if this is apart of her job description? I wouldn't be surprised if ESPN was doing this to gain views (good or bad) to gain more revenue. It's not even crazy to think they would use criminal history, allegations, and convictions against players (old and new) to gain more clicks. There's a reason why she keeps doing it without any pressure from the League.
Charles Barkley criticized a lot of NBA players and looked at how famous he became with winning an NBA title. I think a lot of but kissing was involved.
If Malika is that bad why don't people unite and boycott her. Don't do interviews with her. Don't assist with helping put money in her pocket. Warn other NBA Players about her. That's the easiest way to punish her "bad behavior" and make her change her ways, but this has to be a consensus. Everyone has to be on the same page.
I totally agree with this, sensible out come would be that if a client does not like you representing their interest then the network should respond by not allowing you to do the interview that person
Wow. For a fact free video, this piece has generated a huge amount of hate. The superstar as God is certainly on display among many of these comments. I see much more critical comments about the players from male commentators, with none being treated like this.
That is dumb as f**k. How would devaluing the product they sell help franchise owners? Maybe there are valid complaints about Andrews, but I didn't see any in this video.
All the players should tell espn they won't appear on the channel or answer any questions anywhere as long as she's there. These players are dumb not to do this.
@@AntcmbHeat They can do whatever they want. What are they going to do, fire them all? Also, did I say not talk to the media at all or just one person? Where does it say in their contract that they need to speak to her? What happened when Giannis was answering questions and then got up and left when she asked a question? Nothing.
@@zyzzyz7035 cmon now. You and I know know superstars get away with most things. I have 2 cousins who played in the NBA and am in law and I’ve been told several times that are UNFORTUNATELY contractually obligated to adhere to the media guidelines and that’s part of the job of the athlete is to participate with the media… I don’t make up the rules….. if you don’t you’ll be fined x amount of dollars….
@@AntcmbHeat OK, legalize. Show me the part of the contract that says THEY MUST TALK TO HER. (Doesn't exist) You didn't answer the question. What happened to Giannis when he refused to talk to her and walked out? (Nothing) You're missing the point. When employees don't like something and they refuse to do it, that is a labor issue where they pressure the employer to get what they want and are willing to stand on their demands. Fines and all. (Which would be reversed and appealed by the players association) You think the nba and espn are not going to turn to her and say, "You have to go"? We cannot put you over our players, league, money, fans, ratings, etc. They have a lot of power. Without them there is no league. You're very short-sighted just like these players.
You forget she is the media, they did nothing to Giannis, but you see it haven't happened again and you see big perk (Perkins) don't talk to her with authority anymore
In the media, content that is 'borderline' sells bc it will stir controversy and debate and thus keep the attention of the public on the media presenting the content. Malika's job for ESPN is just that. Americans ever so often want to experience some 'rough and tumble' and Malika knows how to create and sell it.
To be honest, I am not really seeing the difference between her comments and all the past comments of people like Stephen Smith. Show me one that didn't give a personal opinion on Deshaun Watson, Ray Lewis or any other athlete who have had run ins with the law. And since when does Smith not interrupt guest commentators who don't agree with him. This profession is simply full of people who never played or have any kind of credentials on the subjects they talk about which is not limited to sports. They even gave us all lectures on Covid and vaccines! Maybe they should take all those millions and have somebody help them put on their big boy pants!
Interesting, that she is racist man hater but, racist against her own skin...when u hate yourself you have mental issues which come across in her aura. This is a very hateful woman.
When your not afraid to ask questions that may hurt your feelings deal with it. Do you really think that you can go through life without getting your feathers ruffled. It’s how you react to it that shows your character.
She's the perfect example of a woman that got everywhere because of her looks and race. I can't believe ESPN fired all those people and kept her. When she's on TV I turn the channel
one of the dumbest things you could have possibly say to include race.. looks maybe but black women are the number one most denigrated and disadvantaged section of the population.. take your bitterness elsewhere with that garbage take. your proifile pic says all you need to know about who you are lmao
ESPN considers this chick eye candy and will live with any negative reviews because she has people watching her show. If they based her gig on job performance she would have been fired long ago.
Many of the women are eye candy- this is not rocket science - check out the way some of them dress- all dudes on set beware. One of them was wearing a fetish choker- haha
Maybe more people should play her game and bring up how long malika has been a mentally weak individual that needed to go to a special school for those type of kids
What is her Mother's heritage? That may explain why Malika Andrews works for ESPN. Because we can clearly see she is NOT talented, so it must be favoritism.
Malika Andrews needs to go, she should not be allowed to treat the industry the way she do, shame professional players who work hard to get to the professional level, and discrase other professional analyst the way she do. I don't watch telecast in which she participates, and others are quickly following suit, ESPN, NBA, and other sports cast let her go, so we can get back to covering sports and games the way should be covered, with fun and anticipation.
“He deserves to be fired if they are going to fire him if you’re not going to fire him then don’t fire him.” That’s the kind of deep insight ESPN “personalities” provide that caused me to stop watching almost ten years ago now.
Did you listen to the entire clip?. That comment was in reference to the organization airing half the situation and not releasing him to get a job elsewhere. So he was just saying if u gonna fire him then just do it, don't give him a death sentence and not even have all the back story. ...or in most others opinion they knew the back story but bc who all parties involved were it became chaotic to keep it hush hush but still lay down punishment..
As far as mentioning possible red flags isn't that done at the NFL draft. Hell coaches and staff get away with more than that. I'm in no way defending her. But analyst ask questions at all times. I've seen nfl analyst dobthe something. Is it because she's a woman? Someone educate me please? I have not watched espn in quite awhile. I get tired of all of them talking nonsense 24-7. Idc if they are men or women. I miss Stuart Scott, RIP, he was the only reason I watched ESPN. they have been going down ever since Disney has taken over. There are good female analysts and bad ones same with male analyst. I'm really mad that they let Jalen go. The few times i watched recently was because of him.
I have seen a lot of men especially black men complain about how she basically tears down a black man for example the Boston Celtic coach yes he was wrong for having affairs but so were the woman who were a legal age and consented to the relationship but she was treating them as if they were human trafficking victims. Another example is this guy I think josh giddey who is white and accused of messing with underage girls she spoke on it but said we don’t have all the Factz so I can’t necessarily speak on it but when this other basketball player was shot for helping his girlfriends friend during a domestic dispute and lost his life she mentioned how he had rape charges against him but the charges were dropped, she never mentioned the reasoning for the shooting. I don’t watch espn bc I don’t care for sports but for the people who don’t watch espn & are not “tapped” into malika then no one will really see the issue. Basically she is biased she sees all woman as victims and don’t want to hold them accountable and from what I have seen she loves holding black men to a higher standard. Instead of treating all the players equal regardless of race or color
THANK YOU! I was stuck as to why these men were so pissed. The final analysis is probably that it's a woman bringing these issues up. I don't know or watch her, so there's a lot that I'm missing, but from this clip, there's no new journalism tactic going on. But when I read the comments, & "most" are calling her a "chick"...smh
Good video, although you failed to mention when that one NBA player died for no reason Malika Andrews brings up either some already taken care of charge is not fully charge. Charge is just some BS that didn’t need to be brought up after the man had already died and she wants to bring up negativity and everybody knows that it just always a bad taste.
Malika Andrews is ESPN’s way of attacking black men without doing it themselves. That’s ESPN’s way of saying, WELL WE DIDN’T SAY IT. The black girl did. What upsets me is why all these guys still go on with her? Why don’t they boycott? ESPN is not doing anything about her
She was hired entirely for "optics." That is the ESPN MO lately. Another example, the ignorant "analyst" who called JJ Redick an "average shooter" at the NBA draft. As long as ESPN keeps doing what it is doing, I won't express it in words but everybody knows, we are going to be subject to this idiocy.
Malika is a typical modern day feminist, the only point that matters is her point. She argues with former NBA players who have better insight than she does. Always has to be right and has the last say. She is the reason I don’t watch any show she is in. I liked Rachel nichols it was a mistake to let her go.
I think that Malika Andrews still has a job because of her good looks and nothing else! But this ain't a fashion show! She ain't a model! She's a sports journalist and she's supposed to act like one! Meaning being objective and unbiased! If ESPN can't rein her in, just fire her! Like they did with Rachel Nichols!
@@Iniquityslasher I don't think that color has anything to do with it, because once ESPN decided to clean house, they fired black men like Jalen Rose, who "coincidentally" got fired after the armpit incident, LaPhonso Ellis, Mark Jackson etc.
Malika is on her knees for that job. It was rumored that she slept around to get where she is. I Also believe that she had a part in bugging Rachel Nichols' room. I could see her comments getting out if she had been "hot miked", meaning her mike wasn't turned off for a commercial break but it wasn't the case. Think about it for a minute. ESPN was already in the process of firing and re-assigning people. Who stood the most to gain for Nichols' insecurity? Right, Malika Andrews. She's no dummy, trust me. Nichols probably told Andrews her fear in confidence once before and Andrews found a way to take advantage of that. After all, the audio was "leaked". There couldn't have even been any audio to leak if the bugging hadn't been planned from Jump Street. Andrews is a cutthroat bitch but she will get hers in the end. Karma always comes back. As far as the NBA is concerned, if all of the players stop doing interviews where she is involved, ESPN and the league won't have a choice but to can her ass.
malika andrews is barely even a sports journalist. i think rachel nichols is more proven than her and she don't bring up people's past when important events come up.
She’s looking for a reaction and she gets them. They should stop reacting to her questions and give boring answers. Make every response to every question she ever ask Boring and you how fast she gets off air. They have her ask questions because people react to them plains and simple.
She's going to be the first mainstream media individual (outside of those in Memphis) to interview Ja before his first game after his suspension is over. I can see it already 🤦
All I know is that she better have damn good security cause someone is gonna hurt her and it's gonna be a sports fan that is fed up with her negative BS.
From what I've read so far, this wolman is doing her job. This would include at times asking uncomfortable questions. Her job is to present the total picture on any athlete or issue being discussed and to be respectful in doing so. Once she remains within those parameters, she should be fine.
U need to read or watch some more! She brings stuff up that irrelevant just to try and shame and humiliate people. And when the hell is she ever respectful? She cuts her co-hosts off all the time, doesn't let them speak or speaks over them, and comments inappropriate stuff while they're talking under her breath. I've never seen anyone more disrespectful! I think it was the coach for the Celtics when he just got hired. She brought up a time he got arrested in college over 15 years ago when he was a teenager for underaged drinking and an adult charge that was also dropped for getting into a fight at the bar lol. You show me one college student that hasn't had a few beers before they hit 21. No reason to bring that up whatsoever! I can't stand her! Just seeing her face on my phone puts me in a bad mood I'm not even kidding
Because of the recent current events ESPN does not exist on my television screen anymore and yes I cannot stay and Malika Andrews either and kudos to Giannis antetokounmpo from walking out on her ass
It appears her job is to do background checks on anyone that have been involved with anything that would put Malika in the limelight which is not looking for there accolades but things there trying to overcome. Maybe someone should be digging deep down into issues that wasn't pleasant in her life
Malika has some issues that have been covered from her formal years of school. Her character seems questionable to say the least. Juvenile records are almost always sealed, but then there are sometimes likes. Depending on the profile of the subject.
this comment contains no information of any value whatsoever. as such, it is trying to implicate her in some sort of dark illicit behavior merely on the basis of innuendo. if you have anything relevant to say about "her past", let's hear it.
Any athlete should walk out from any interview and or show as soon as this female asks a question or makes any comment. Eventually, they will kick her off any and all shows
Agreed, people seem to worship athletes, so long as she speak the truth I love her. If an NBA player is implicated in some kind of murder she need to expose it. LOVE HER
I didn’t know who she was before this video. None of this seems so bad. Athletes are entitled and temperamental and her fellow male journalists and commentators do this stuff all the time.
