The other ones being more edited do feel more professional and less like some random guy in the military talking about his experience and more of a valid explanation. Even though both are valid explanations as long as they actually explain. But one just feels more trustable. Also I think you should try and step out of the just talking category and maybe start going into stuff like "my diet as a Army Soldier", or "My workout routine in the military". Just more content ideas and maybe more informative in other ways. I like all your videos but everyone can improve more and more.
Bro you hit nail on coffin about joining the military in giving you an opportunity to accomplish your own personal goals in life, currently in the process of joining The ARMY super excited!!!!!!
Me too but I'm 17 so I have to have my mom enlist and she's a little scared for now. But We've already spoken with a recruiter and I've done my research. I'm excited to go achieve my dream!
@@DentonHolmes anytime bro, I been in for some time now it’s a great career choice, work hard & smart and you’ll be golden, I love the army all I want is to see it get better
I can’t lie bro im 22 same age as you, thought that I knew it all and couldn’t accomplish as much as I’ve wanted for the reasons you stated bills and no funds to buy courses, but you’ve been a big inspiration gonna join the airforce or army and get my life back on track.
Young man keep doing what you are doing I’m a Army Veteran 13B10 a matter of fact I was stationed in Korea for 1978 to 1979 at Camp Stanley and rotated in and out of 4 Papa 1 on the DMZ. Your content is a good look into life as a soldier I can relate! Some days are long and grimy and some are hurried up and wait!! And I’ve seen you cover both so. The army is something I’m proud of and still talk about the experience mainly because of our unit we all become very close!!
@@AaronbTV you know I’ve been kicking myself in the behind because I didn’t do 20 and retired. I was 17 when I enlisted I would’ve been 37 with full retirement in the bank. I used my GI bill to go to college I finished up at 32 because of marriage, kids and bills! Then started retirement all over and I have partners that did the 20 years and got out at 37 with their degree with no worries about retirement because it is already covered and they have full time jobs making 6 figures! These brothers are doing it!!
My dad was in Korea for 13 months 70-71…. He passed away. He was an E-4. Never got to ask him what it was like over there. Would you happen to know what it was like at the DMZ during that time…. Thank you for your service
@@alixflint3589 it was pretty tough back then a lot of things were happening that didn’t get reported I think President George Bush JR. signed the Korea Defense Service Medal KDSM that allows us to join the VFW (Veterans Of Foreign Wars) meaning they declassified our mission after we turned over the DMZ defense to the Koreans I think late 90s or 2000s. That place was very primitive back then and the North Korea first leader was in power which is Kim’s Grandfather!!
I’ve been thinking about joining the military, and this video helps me get a real understanding of the mindset I need to be in before even going to boot camp. I appreciate your sincerity AB, Keep going brother💯.
I leave June 3rd for basic training and will be stationed at fort drum afterwards your videos have helped me understand how the army functions keep up the good work
It’s nice to have a mix of the raw videos and the more edited, quick hitting kind of facts or vlogging. I appreciate all your content and have for about 5 months now. Thank you man keep going
My kids have specifically watched ones on the cons and not the pros because I want them to realize it's going to be hard. I'd rather them join knowing it's NOT fun. But can be beneficial
Im 23 & im currently thinking about joining the army, i still havent talked to a recruiter yet. Im still doing alot of research before considering it, ive followed you for awhile and i enjoy all your videos and i appreciate you taking the time to tell us the not so pretty side of the army, this is a video that ive been searching for because most people talk about ONLY the good stuff and thats great but i need to know what im going to go through NOT just the good stuff, i know there isnt anyway to fully predict what im gonna be doing but i at least would like to know the common stuff that tends to happen to everyone and thats what u did here! Thank you so much!
I’m the same age i go to boot camp on July 22nd. If you make up your mind try to score as high as possible so you get a wide range of jobs. Just to get good transferable skills. Just beware lol, once you swear that oath and sign that contract there’s no turning back from that point.
I've been watching for a while and I'm glad you made this content :) It really influenced me to push myself out of my comfort zone to join the military (specifically the army) so it's nice to see your positives and also the possible cons. Your experiences and expressing them have made me feel more comfortable about joining. I'm in high school (first year) so I have a long way to go but I'm hoping for the best, especially when I finally find something interesting, but it's a process 🙌 So. I thank you for making the videos. It's really nice.
The army gave my uncle experimental vaccines in the early 2000s, they gave him vaccines for ANTHRAX. my uncle has been suffering from parkinsons for years now.
i think my comment came off wrong. I was initially replying to someone saying they just took the asvab and are joining because your life looked like so much fun. Which is why i simply stated it’s not all like your videos, *because* of what you said in this vid, that your vids are highly edited and obviously are going to be showing the best parts. Don’t get me wrong dawg i love your vids and the information you have given for people trying to join is a major role in why i joined not going to lie. You didnt deceive me at all as you were trying your best to give people all the information but when someone sees a video of your life in korea (very above average military experience) i was simply warning that they may want to rethink and look at some of the downsides too (reason why this is actually a pretty good video to make) I’ve been subbed for a while and actually met you at the waukegan recruiting office so you may remember that i’m not far into my army journey (essentially saying i don’t have all the experience in the world, in fact far from it) so i don’t want to make it seem like you’re trying to misinform/ just get people to join.
I’m enlisting in the army. This video def helped and I do like the whole not editing thing. Also can you do a video on how to deal with toxic leadership?
Really not much you can do to deal with toxic leadership (and in the army you will have really toxic commanders who will do things like send you to the field more to make themselves look good so they can get promoted to the next officer rank, and that includes sending soldiers to the field on crutches) except take it day by day until your contract comes up, which means it's a good idea to sign the shortest contract possible .
@@golfery5119facts they can make or break the experience, I haven’t been to the field since basic but I’ve seen inadequate leadership hinder peoples careers, find mentors and stick with them
Been binge watching your videos. Shipping out to Fort Jackson the 28th of this month to basic. Learned a few things by watching your videos and appreciate all the things you've shared. Went with 25u.
I’ve been watching your channel for some years now, you do a great job. I joined last year and now I’m in Korea first duty station, love it. Keep up the good work Corporal
Watching Your videos assisted me in deciding what branch I’d want to join & how I can improve myself while in & out of the military. This format for your video is great; the raw footage for these types of video is perfect. For less serious content; edits would make it more playful.
Hey brother I do maintenance on fort drum, I been up here since I was a kid and my dad got medically discharged. I’m going in the army as an option 40 11x. I appreciate your content no one else speaking truth like you on RU-vid.
My dad tried talking me into the airforce because I want to be a mechanic, he told me that it's non-combat and that I'll never be deployed. Looked it up and bro just straight lied to me, the benefits are not worth my own life
Just to put this out there each branch has their own unique experience. Army has a more strict approach & have a huge focus on armory, Marines the most disciplined & most lethal combative branch, Air Force is air-to-air, air-to-ground combat with the biggest job market to support each base where the jets are parked. Navy is the most specific to Sea & Air to Air combat/expeditionary combat
I got kicked out of Space force after graduating cus they found out I had a scar that ended up being a autoimmune that doesn't affect my work but they threw a huge fit over and wouldnt approve waiver.
Military easy. The only job you can be late too multiple times, be sick multiple times and still not be fired. I been in for 15 years, traveled to 17 different countries deployed 5 times 3 of them combat l, I been to 6 different states. Dude this is easiest job ever, you will get promoted by just existing. They will pay you to live out in town and for your food. I sit and do nothing and have others do my job for me.
Definitely prefer the no edit video. Been watching your videos for an inside look wouldn’t say you make it rainbows at all. Will be going to meps soon. Wanting 13J if I can’t do that wanting 11B.
8:31 "cant even put your hands in your pockets" nowadays that is specific to the army and marines. The other branches now allow their members to put their hands in their pockets (although i cant imagine them doing so while talking to superiors). The Air force also, from what ive seen with my own eyes from working with them, lets their members also untuck their PT shirts (whenever they even do PT to be wearing a PT uniform). While im not completely sure about this, i have with my own eyes, saw someone in a navy uniform yse an umbrella in the rain. know in the army definitely you better not be seen carrying an umbrella in uniform. I was yelled for wearing my hoodie on my rainjacket in the rain one time too, which is also something you probably wouldnt see with the other branches. Soldiers in the army would rather just let themselves get soaked in the rain instead of putting the goddamned hoodie thats on their rain jacket.
I go into Army basic training on May 28th!!!! Also I am going to serve for 20t years!!!!! And eventually become a 2LT!!!! And than a Captain!!!! But if I like 2LT than I am staying into 2LT!!! Either way I am going to become a 2LT!!!! I am going to work hard!!!!😤😤❤️❤️😤🤩😆
Every complaint or criticism this side had about the military can be said about a job in the civilian world. It’s actually worse for unskilled labor which most people are that enlist in the military. A small percentage of people actually get everything they can get out of the military while the majority that were shit birds before they joined remain shit birds while serving and then return back to the streets a slightly more disciplined shit bird.
Depending on what your job is and if you’ve actually been doing it , getting out could be better career option, it’s a great launching pad but you’re right you have to decide early if it’s something you wanna do long term, I’d say give yourself a few years get atleast one contract under your belt then decide
Feel the same way dude. Got thrown away by the AirForce. Same with the 200 people I knew. They dump their Special Operators in the Garbage when they get hurt. Be prepared to be reclassed into a cook
If you know you have the mental capacity and warrior's mentality to be an infanteer and go way beyond what is expected of you, then do it. Hone your mind and soul on it. If you're lost on that idea, if you aren't willing, if it's just a job to you, then you should reconsider a career that goes into civ life.
Go infantry. Get that bonus, Go option 40 (RASP), reclass when your window opens up. Do “some cool guy stuff” and then reclass to cyber/signal if you’re still worried about life after the military. First thing is pick a job that you see yourself enjoying.
Basic training and AIT is the easiest thing you will do in your military career, when you get to your first unit you’ll realize how much it really sucks, but some people have it good depending on on the unit but it’s ass when you really realize your rights have been practically stripped away
@@AaronbTVwith you there 😂promotion points are stupid rn, on the upside everyone knows cpl is the worst rank ever, atleast in my experience you get treated better
ofcourse he did. what tf else is he gonna do? work at mcdonalds for years? its best if he gets into the military its better for his health and mental health
if you're working at walmart and dealing with bad leadership then you go work at target but if you're in the military dealing with bad leadership are you stuck or do you have options?
I’m from the UK and finishing application for military my idea of it since I’m doing reserves is so I am able to focus on physical to mental life and see what the military maybe like down to other people’s opinions who haven’t had the experience I do have family heritage great grandparents so hopefully it goes well and I do like your video’s even though your the us I do respect 🫡
@@golfery5119 US marines require at least 10 pull-ups. There is 12 mile run. Wall Climbing, You gotta jump with a parachute for army airborne. Navy and marines 2 minutes of swimming.
@@Escape_The_Mundane 12 mile run in the marines? Jesus Chris if that's true. Screw that We have to do a 12 mile road ruck march in the army for the forge, but damn that too.
Hey I’m a Christian but plan on joining the military when I’m 17 and I don’t really care what people will say but I just want to know what to expect. So do you think that other recruits give people of a different religion a harder time than other people?
This is a very well-balanced, thoughtful video. I know you're trying to increase its views by using an ironic, click-bait title, but do you run the risk of Army criticism by doing so?
Go guard/reserve. Don’t go active duty Like I did. My guard friends were living like Kings & even reenlisted. I chose to get out. Guard/reserve gets treated waaay better than Active. Listen to the E4’s & shitbags. Not the highspeed liars that say “it’s not that bad”
Hey AaronbTV I´m intrested in the US Military, thats why I joined your Discords Server, but I cant react with the US Flag to accept the rules, could you somehow help me out?
My brother in arms I already know what you going to say. I'm not in America. And, not going to be in the country taking the bullshyt with dash of salt.
