If children should be allowed to make a choice that is irreversible and life changing damage, then why is there any rules on children at all.

Its amazing that something children figured out by the time they are 3 is now something so complicated thst even those who identify to be that something can't even define what they supposedly are

Too often these days people seem to believe their vague experiences, bias judgment, and fallible opinions count as evidence for some kind of truth.

Great podcast. I was thinking..."trend" is the perfect word for transgender. Someday, we'll be saying, "Oh, that's so 20s" We had a trend in the 70s...piercing the same ear TWICE! However, years later....we still don't regret it. Why? It was not life changing.

They shouldn’t be talking to children about this stuff the way they do! I was also a tomboy as a child and I absolutely agree with that young woman, if I was that child today there would be adults in my life that have much sway over me who would be trying to convince me that I’m trans! And they’d be saying things to my parents like “would you rather a dead daughter or a living son!” Which is so incredibly manipulative imo to say to someone about the wellbeing of their child! And that’s if they even spoke with my parents! Because in certain states such as California, Oregon, or Washington a child as young as 11yo can see a “Transitional, Transformation, or a Gender Affirming Therapist” and obtain puberty blockers behind their parents back without their expressed consent!!!! That to me is so dangerously ridiculous!! And frankly I believe it should be criminal! Any adult that tells a child that is not their own to keep a secret from their parent/s is concerning to me! And I would absolutely question their motives! Drag Time Story hour!, Parades with sexual deviance and nudity on full display for children!, & now even Cartoons & literature! It’s insanity! Our children across this country can barely pass basic math, English, Science, & or History exams at a basic skill level and this is what people think we should be teaching children in schools?!! It’s already gone too far!

First of all, love the video. Very respectful and good converstation and you have a lovely calm demeanor. This is a difficult one. Young people body, brain and personality change due to hormones, but the hormone blockers can really improve the result in the end increasing their quality of life. There are cases where you clearly see it at young age but more often then not your not sure, and the child is most lften not sure as well because the whole exploration of gender and identity happens during your puberty in most cases. Because of hormones. And hormone blockers (and especially surgery) will have severe implications. I think we need more research to detect this at a younger age. And I think we do need to teach kids this exists, but also we need to keep in mind that this is an abnormality. Not that it's bad but a very very very small minority of the population has trangenderism. This "defect" on our brain (and take note of how I use quotation marks here as its not meant in a bad way) is not the norm. And just being a tomboy or a more sensitive boy doesnt instantly make you a transgender. I think however people have become crazy with this subject. And just became more trendgenders then transgender. Because we have lost a clear definition of gender identity, and because we lost that we seem to hold more strongly to those gender roles they remain. So if your not this tough alpha male, well you must be not male so what are you now. You can't be just a sensitive guy anymore so now your gender fluid. And social media where you must stand out, and you read howbother people identify but thatvalso doesnt really fit you, this has evolved in making up new term to indentify yourself.
