In this video we show you how much time the Universal Studios Express Pass saves you! We show you the current wait time at each ride, and then time ourselves as we go through the Universal express line. Once we get off the ride, we talk about how long the Universal express pass wait times were and exactly how much time the Universal unlimited express pass saved us! Universal Orlando advertises that express pass times will be at least half the wait time of the standby line, but how accurate is that? What are the actual Universal express pass wait times? Is the express pass worth it? Does the Universal express pass 2021 save you time when the parks are busy? We discuss all of that in this video, and more!

Definitely! Especially in the heat of summer. Oh man it's hot in Orlando, thats saying something coming from a Floridian lol Getting the Premier hotel rooms is the way to go though. Buying express is too expensive during the summer.

@@ThePughTwo Thats the truth. Theres never a wrong time to book a premier hotel, especially if you have at least two people in your party, more often than not those express passes are 269 for the unlimited just for one person. just book the premier lol :)

I am binge-watching your channel and it's SO informative. I watch a lot of theme park channels and this one was a hidden gem. Very informative, fun to watch, to the point, and excellent audiovisual quality. I hope more people find this channel. We are at Universal now and your videos were a godsend on planning and enjoying it here. The express pass is a must in my view. It has allowed us to ride just about every ride in universal and islands of adventure during our 3 day stay here. Having early admission helped with the wait times on Hagrids and velocicoaster. Both rides are worth the wait no matter what though..especially Hagrids. Thank you so much for the great videos. Keep up the great work.

They are always worth it. Our last trip was summer of 2019 and wait times were crazy esp for HP rides. 15-20 minutes at most is what it seemed like we waited. Definitely worth it.

I totally agree that Express Pass is necessary, even on slow days, since sometimes (after riding many times) you want to skip the switchbacks and theming. Since the Express entrances skip most of that, you get right to the meat! When we're with first-timers, we always show them the full, traditional queue at least once........ Anna & Tyler, another great video with excellent advise!

It was wonderful to meet you both on my family's first visit to Universal. We met near River Adventure, where my daughters were enjoying getting splashed. For us the Express Passes were amazing, and whenever we get the opportunity to go back we will be making that a priority. The only ride that had a substantial wait was Dudely Do Right's which my family waited for 40 minutes+ to ride. Again thank you for your videos they were a great help in planning our trip. Hopefully next time we will get to ride the rides over 51" as my youngest, the thrill-seeker, was only 50".

We love the express pass. You two always have great information. We were shocked how much time it actually saves. We use a fanny pack to avoid the lockers so that helps even more except the rides that doesn't allow fanny packs. Great video.

My experience after my trip to Universal last Week; definitely it worth. I've heard here in this channel that July is one of the most difficult month to visit the park, so It was. From the beginning, the park was completely full packed from the parking lot through the entry gate lines. So, we decided to purchase Unlimited Express Passes for my entire family, it was very expensive (250 each). I can tell you, honestly; It was the best decision made for that day. We enjoyed all rides we wanted, some twice. We saved times for other rides that not accepted express passes. Thank you very much Guys for your advices.

Great video! I have been curious about this after recently buying the preferred pass and it’s nice to see just how useful they are. After getting the pass I found this channel and have enjoyed the tips/videos/etc. so thank you! I guess I don’t currently find the express pass worth it though, having to buy it per day is just too much when I come once or twice a week. I’m usually alone as well, and the single rider lines help a lot. But if they ever implemented a somewhat discounted price for the full year with annual passes or something, I would surely be interested! Anyways, thanks again you guys are awesome! I look forward to all the new content! I’ll come say Hi if we ever cross paths at the park and y’all aren’t too busy or something. lol

For the trip I have booked in May, we got fast passes for two out of the four days we are there. We are staying at Sapphire Falls. Since there is only two of us, this saved us money rather than going for the Premier hotel. We are using the passes on the weekend days when the crowds are the highest and prioritizing the long wait time rides on those days. Definitely recommend crunching the numbers. I have been binging your videos, thank you so much for all the advice! :)

I just got done with my trip at Universal solo! Having unlimited express passes were definitely worth it. I was really expecting higher crowds in June but it really wasn’t bad at all even when I stood in single rider lines and one time in the regular standby line by accident at Hagrids which it turns out had the same wait time when I returned for single rider! Super weird! Also, I’m happy to report back that if you goto Volcano Bay when the park opens either for early admission or at regular times, you really don’t need express passes to go on all the rides multiple times.

It’s definitely worth it, specially if you have a bigger family and stay in an express pass hotel. One note about the express pass and fast and furious. We had the express pass and saw the line was 80 minutes this particular day. I figured we would get on it quickly but the express line merges with the regular line pretty early on. You go through 3 separate rooms.

There are a few rides where you get mixed with the standby line to see the pre-shows. This happens in Gringotts, too, but it’s still faster than not! We agree, the premiere hotels are definitely the best way to get the express passes!

I went to Universal (FL) on June 9th, spent $500 on 2-park 1 day admission and express pass, we were able to get on all the rides (excluding Dr. Seuss land/Velocicoaster) in one day, the only thing is that I feel like you have to rush through the queue and not be able to experience it but to be able to do both parks in one day for all the rides was well worth the money!

It really depends on the ride! The rides that just have one lap bar per row (like Transformers, Spider-Man, etc.) don’t have lockers. Rides like Mummy and MIB allow 3 prong Fanny packs and have lockers for other bags. The big roller coasters of course require lockers for everything. They’re really not a big deal, it just gets a little crowded sometimes!

Had express for my trip at the end of April and it saved us so much time. For example Hulk and Jurassic Park river adventure where constantly over 75 minutes because there was still social distancing on the rides. And it would only take 15-20 minutes to get on with express.

They always save you time, the amount of time just changes depending on the season. September is a slower time, but some of the big rides will still have a decent wait. It’s really just personal preference and whether you’re willing to wait or not!

We stayed at Hard Rock so we had express pass in mid April. It did save us a lot of time on mostly everything with the exception of Hogwarts Express. We still waited 45-60 minutes to board using the express line. Granted it was slower moving because of not mixing parties but that darn train took up a huge chunk of our day...but it was a must do for our kids- they just loved it. 🚂

The Hogwarts express really suffered from the social distancing! We waiting a lonnnng time for it, too. Fortunately, they’ve started grouping parties together again and the express wait is back to normal! It’s so fun, though!

I'd love to see a breakdown of rides with a strict carry-on items policy. Are zippered pockets an option for keeping cell phones with you? As a side note, these videos are REALLY helpful. We are planning our first trip since 2006 for 4 days in mid September. A lot has changed!

Awesome content, planning for our first trip in May and I'll definitely be binge watching your videos. A better challenge as others have mentioned would be to split between the two lines and actually test how accurate the posted wait times are. Sure the posted time for mummy was 40min and you got through in 8.5, but did you actually save 31 minutes? After years of disney we know that their wait times vs actual are all over the board so it'd be cool to see a comparison.

After watching more of your videos we were convinced to switch our tickets from 2 day 3 park to 3 day 3 park since there seems to be a lot more to do in the two main parks and Volcano Bay is a bit of a wild card. We are staying at the Portofino and I am very excited about Express Pass. My plan is to ride Hagrid's every morning, taking advantage of early park admission. BUT, what do we do if IOA does not offer early park admission during our stay and only Universal Studios does? What is the best plan of attack in this case to ride Hagrid's?

Thank you so much, we really appreciate hearing that! That sounds like you have an awesome trip planned. If early park isn’t at IOA, going as soon as the park opens is probably your best bet. But the wait time at Hagrid’s is rarely as long as it says, so don’t let it deter you too much! If you see it under 90 minutes, we think it’s worth the wait!

The price for the express pass is crazy! It said $69 for the one that you can use once per ride, but then when I went to add it to cart it jumped up to $229 per pass. That really put a huge dent in our vacation plans! 😔

Yeah, it changes based on the day unfortunately. As more sell, the price increases. The best way to get express is to stay at the premier hotels. They come with unlimited express for everyone in the room!

I'm going to both parks in 3 weeks, so we'd pay $680 for two people (for the passes ALONE since we already have tickets). Next time I'll stay at a participating hotel. No doubt. I will not pay $680. My trip was kind of last minute, but they are cheaper if you buy them like two months prior.

I was there second week of January 2020, will be back this coming up January and the lines weren't very long if you go the week after New Year's but I was staying at Royal Pacific's so got the Express Pass with the room and despite the fact it didn't save that much time it was still worth it but if you're going to be there a few days during a slow period I would suggest don't get an Express Pass.

They always save you time, they just save you more time when the parks are busy! Staying at the premier hotels is a double win because the hotels are amazing AND you get express. It’s definitely not a necessity, but it’s nice to have it!

Express Pass typically only takes about 1/3 of the posted wait times! It's great!! (I'm still debating getting a Premiere pass for that after 4pm XP... I know y'all said in another video that it might not be worth it.. If I go on 4 - 5 trips in a year and if I only using it one day on each trip that makes the upgrade cost about $20 - $25 each time per trip. That seems reasonable!)

So looks like ill be staying at the Loews Porto fino bay hotel which you get a free pass for every day you stay the night and I have a seasonal pass so ill get some % off my hotel! and that free fast pass will defiantly be worth staying in the resort!!!!

You do miss SOME of the queue when you are using express but you still get the essence of most. The two we would still try to go through normal queues are definitely Forbidden Journey and Gringotts!

Buy express for one day of extended vacations for larger families or groups if not staying at premiere hotel. If you’re there for 3 days or more you don’t need express everyday.

Hubby and I have 2 day park to park tickets so lets say we go to Universal parks on Aug 9th and 11th, does that mean I can check in to a premier hotel on the 9th and check out on the 11th (2 nights) and get express passes for the full 2 days that we're going?

Like try to get on all the rides on the busiest day of the week with the express pass from the time they open at 9am (without early entry) until about 4pm. Including park to park. That’s correct. Those rides currently offer a standby line (the regular line) and a single rider line. If your party doesn’t mind being split up, people typically report the single rider lines as being shorter!

We would recommend looking now! Unless you can get the annual pass discount, the prices are probably only going to go up. Plus, if they go down you can always rebook at the lower price. You can get 100% discount up to a week before the booking, so there’s really no downside. You just have to put one night’s stay as a deposit.

ChatSupport: I believe you get a new lid, or the lid you have gets reactivated! It can be used either way! If you would like a new cup, they will be able to provide one, or they can use the credit towards reactivating the cup for additional days! I'm going to IOA on an April Saturday this year. I'm flying from across the country so I am not too flexible with my days unfortunately. I already purchased my express pass which was a whopping $179.99! I know it will be worth it though as I expect the park to be absolutely packed and I want to make the most of my day there as I do not know when I will make it back.

Dockside is not one of the premier hotels, so it is not included in the cost of your room. If you want to upgrade to the express passes, you’ll have to pay per person per day for either the limited or the unlimited express.

I love the express pass much better than spending time in line. We only allow 1 or 2 days for universal so for us it’s worth paying for the pass never ever regretted buying it. We once went when the park was quiet and did all the big rides in both parks in one day 👍👍👍👍

Honestly, that is the only drawback of express pass! You skip a lot of the amazingly themed queues such as Hogwarts (Forbidden Journey) and Gringotts. What we like to do is either find a time when the wait time is short and go through the normal queue then, or sometimes they will let you walk through the queue without riding just to see everything!

They’re not that bad for a new ride! It moves people quickly through the queue and it’s had a lot fewer technical issues than Hagrid’s. You can check the wait time on the app daily to see what’s normal.

It also depends on the time of the day. The morning express lines are almost no wait while the express line after 4:00PM generally have a longer wait because some of the season pass holders have express.

Sometimes Hagrids goes to a virtual line and those are the times when they usually release more times. And velocicoaster does have a single rider line so if you don't mind riding with strangers that can save you time as well.

Universal has reopened the single rider line, so that’s a great option since it’s just you. The parks are usually really busy during holidays, though, so the express would save you time. It’s really just up to you if it’s worth the price or not!

Park admission is separate! Express passes are simply an add on to a park ticket, so you will be required to purchase those in addition!

It just depends on what you want from the trip! If you have rides you love and want to ride them as much as possible, the unlimited is great. If you just want to have the opportunity to ride each attraction at least once, the limited is fine!

Yes! All express passes use the same express line, the type of pass just determines when and how many times you can use it each day. As far as the unlimited express vs premier pass, it really just depends on what you’re wanting to do. The premier express is once per ride after 4 pm, so if you really want to enjoy the rides over and over, it does have some serious limitations. We also love the convenience of the premier hotels, too.
