My EXR render somehow only reads one mask for one object, even tho I have many objects in the scene. I've looked everywhere but no answer, can you please help? It's really important for my work :(
@@IgorPosavec That's weird because I got a Cryptomatte layer in Photoshop with all the different colors per mesh but no Mask Layers. I don't know if the problem comes from Maya or Photoshop ? I'm trying to find a solution but I don't see any. Thank you for your answer anyway ! :)
@@Pierre-C If Cryptomatte comes in different colors, it is: a) the 3d software did not save it correctly or can not save it correctly (so far only Blender makes this mistake not putting cryptomatte in the header of the file, Arnold in maya works perfectly) b) you have toggled in Exr-IO in Photoshop "Cryptomatte RAW Data" instead of only "Crytpomatte Masks". RAW Data is only for special workflows. You must simply do the same as in video tutorial - Exr-IO works on 100.000 machines in almost all studios and agencies today, we have never got such report you are writing now. It seems you have either setup your workflow incorrect. In any case - there is a 24/7 support on the homepage of Exr-IO, you can contact guys anytime and send them your file for debugging; youtube is 4chan, you know, cats and game trailers. A wrong place for technological issues, here you wont get any serious support. I could not sleep tonight so i have caught your post. Normally i do not look inside for days :)
In Arnold in Maya go to render settings>File output>Merge AOVs, make sure that is checked ON. If you don't see that option you have an earlier ver of Arnold. Then you have to find a node called defaultArnoldDriver, and turn it on there. Had the same problem as you do...
Also saving a file from Arnold RenderView, from File>Save Multy-Layer EXR, will not work. You can use File>Save Final Image (in Arnold RenderView), or just maya's rendering without Arnold RenderView.
The plugin work great.but i come up with some issues: 1.cryptomatte not rendering in render sequence mode in arnold. 2.i can't work on 32 bit in photoshop. Can you explain this?
Hi! Thanks :) 1) no idea, this is a question for Arnold support forum, maybe it is a bug in Arnold. Could you please check in by the developers in Autodesk Forum and write us here what is their explanation for this malfunction in Arnold? 2) I do not understand - PS does not let you do anything in 32 bit? Is it a PS bug? Once we have sent the image to PS, our job is done. We do not control anything more from the point on. If PS crashes in 32bit, this must be something on Adobe side. Can you please explain the meaning of "can not work"? thanks in advance! best regards
@@3dioplugins Man,i really want to add exr io in my composting workflow.but, there are lot of problems from arnold.i will report you the problems i faced in past two days:- 1.when importing the exr file to photoshop, layers didnt masked at all like mention in the video.the solutions i found was not good solution :instead of saving multi layer EXR, enable save final image in arnold renderview. the disadvantage of this method is you cant render sequence.you only get one image. 2.render in sequence in maya arnold create all AOVS except cryptomatte.this is a maya problem and it is sucks. 3.there is no documentation on the website that how to correctly export EXR from maya arnold. 4.i think arnold don't like cryptomatte at all.why im saying this because i tried various ways to export only cryptomatte, and everything failed. 4.Question:Is it possible that import cryptomatte only to photoshop, and it will make mask layers? these problems were pulling me back to use this amazing addon.i hope you will find ways to fix this. thank you bro
No, Cryptomatte something completely different. What you asked for is DeepEXR - please consult the docs for this method at: rmanwiki.pixar.com/display/REN22/DeepEXR
