I have a Rheem electric 60 gal that's 24 years old, should I attempt replacement? It was turned on only when we were here so I'd say maybe 5 years of power on. Anode was never changed and WD40 has been soaking for months. Should I have a replacement tank picked out just in case? Water not hard, no smells, tastes, trace metals. Thanks, good video timing for me!

Hey 👋!!! I’ll say go for it, but expect a little frustration. The biggest thing is somehow securing the tank in place, and having leverage on the breaker bar. 5 years of use is about how much you can get out of the rods. Good luck!! 🍀 let us know how it goes !!!

I did the breaker bar method first, didn't work. I ended up buying the cheapest corded impact wrench from harbor freight. It loosened that rod in a split second.
