Overview of how cells interact with the extracellular matrix.
Biology on Khan Academy: Life is beautiful! From atoms to cells, from genes to proteins, from populations to ecosystems, biology is the study of the fascinating and intricate systems that make life possible. Dive in to learn more about the many branches of biology and why they are exciting and important. Covers topics seen in a high school or first-year college biology course.
About Khan Academy: Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom. We tackle math, science, computer programming, history, art history, economics, and more. Our math missions guide learners from kindergarten to calculus using state-of-the-art, adaptive technology that identifies strengths and learning gaps. We've also partnered with institutions like NASA, The Museum of Modern Art, The California Academy of Sciences, and MIT to offer specialized content.
For free. For everyone. Forever. #YouCanLearnAnything

the more I listen to other videos the more I appreciate how Khan's vids manage to make every line and word count (no hesitations, filler sentences...everything is just down-to-business but in a really approachable way!

That’s for two reasons. He does a better job than most teachers and students naturally don’t pay attention in school bc school is boring af. And u need to know this or you’ll fail so u have a higher incentive to listen

The previously mentioned functions of soluble growth factors justify their importance in the regulation of angiogenesis. In addition, insoluble regulators of angiogenesis, i.e. extracellular matrix proteins and matrix components, may also demonstrate efficacy in the stimulation of angiogenesis. The angiogenic signals for endothelial cells to migrate need to be accompanied with an extracellular matrix interaction. -Creative BioMart

what makes it different from the interstitial fluid?
@forkevbot

Not much. Generally people think of the interstitial fluid as simply the liquid portion of the ECM. It is very important for understanding electrolyte balances, edema, inflammatory responses and the like
