Indeed, because the scene takes place on Easter morning. The culturally illiterate leftists who produced this monstrosity confused an Easter procession for a Good Friday one in order to undermine the fact that the hymn, very deliberately placed here in the middle of the opera, as its pivot, foreshadows both the vindication of God's justice and Santuzza's reintegration into the Christian community.

El director de escena no tiene la minima idea de lo que está interpretando. Para nosotros, católicos y para Mascagni, la Virgen María es ante todo Madre de Misericordia, y jamás señalaria y avergonzaria a un pecador, en este caso Santuzza. Si no tienen el minimo conocimiento ni respeto por la fe, no hagan la puesta en escena de Cavalleria Rusticana. Mezclan la Biblia con el calefón. No son creativos, son burros que andan por los escenarios faltando el respeto al creador de tan excelsas obras musicales.

No es la Virgen la que señala. Es la misma consciencia nuestra la que nos hace sentirnos señalados. El espectáculo nos brinda el momento en que ella cree ver que la imagen se mueve.

A quien traen en.procesión es a una imagen de la Virgen María y el Regina Coeli lo ratifica. Si quieren mostrar el cargo de conciencia de Santuzza deben utilizar otro recurso y no a la Virgen María señalando con el dedo.

No todo el mundo es católico e interpretar la obra de Mascagni es privilegio de todos. Lo de burros es de un burro por no ser capaz de entender la mala conciencia de Santuzza y solo esperar una especie de misa. Es una ópera, ni más ni menos.

La Virgen María jamás haría eso, qué pena los directores de escena, y no iba mal del todo la puesta de escena hasta que hicieron eso tan feo... 😢😢😢 en algún momento decidí dejar el canto en parte por ver estas cosas... Si quieres ser honesto con las óperas y sus librettos, no puedes cantar en casi ninguna producción en la actualidad. 😢😢😢😢
