The action in this movie is top notch. The knife fights...indescribable. Hemsworth is so damn swift with it! It's kind of John Wick-ish with the car crashes and getting hit.😂 love it.

I think the raid movies have 10x better choreography. Also since when does the raid feel superhuman? The raid is very grounded, more so the first one then the second.

It’s wild how good a movie can be when the focus is on making the movie good. Like that’s what it is, the writers, directors, and actors all had a singular goal - make a good fuckin movie.

This film is a huge throwback to the heyday of 80s action films (Stallone, Arnie, even Van Damme). The second one leans even harder into it. It’s a 100% “turn your brain off and drop your jaw” cinema, just like The Raid and Dredd. Regarding the “lack of tension” thing, they deliberately left the ending ambiguous because they didn’t know if they’d make more. Now it seems they’re aiming for a franchise and I am HERE FOR IT 😅

The camera work and action in this movie was top notch. You can clearly see that from Sam Hargrace(stuntman turn director) who did a good job this being his debut film.

What I like about the action in this is its realistic. Yes he uses some ‘martial arts’ but they’re not unpractical, like an arm bar or rear naked choke. Plus, unlike other action movies, there’s no taking turns in a fight. Most movies when the protagonist grabs an opponents arm the opponent just waits for them to finish what they’re doing before they act, but like this and Reacher, they both try and take the advantage👍🏽

Some of the film was shot in my hometown. The bridge scene at the end was only a few kilometers away from my house. I also stopped by to watch the shooting from a distance, it was really cool set.

@@Hi_Shashank No, that bridge scene (along with Kimberley Waterfall, Ovi's school, the nightclub at the start, the pool at the end, and some other scenes) was shoot in Thailand. Mostly in Bangkok and my hometown Ratchaburi.

"I need to eventually watch The Raid" Yeah no kidding. You could pull a Blind Wave and watch the first one to then skip the second part for the years to come. Also: The Raid 2 is somehow even better, in just about every imaginable way, this was not a recommendation in the slightest. Watch them both, they're still easily the best movies in that particular niche. Gareth Evans did a great job with Gangs of London, too.
