Spanish extreme athlete and mountaineer Beatriz Flamini has missed major world events, such as the start of the war in Ukraine and the death of Britain's Queen Elizabeth, because she had literally been living in a cave. Flamini began the challenge of spending 500 days alone in a cave in Motril, Spain on November 20, 2021, as part of a study on the capacities of the human mind and circadian rhythms.

@iii___iii I agree with the other reply you got. Walking into a cave is totally free, living off grid is more accessible and cheaper than how you live now. You won't have a team monitoring you, but you CAN do it. Even today. You just don't want to, because it's too hard, too scary, too inconvenient, you'll be alone, have no phone, no entertainment, no money, etc. That is why you don't do it, not because you can't. And that's okay to admit!

I read from another Spanish comment that she got food delivered to her in the cave by the research team. She literally got UberEats of probably almost anything she wanted during her time in there. If this was me, all I'd request besides the food, is a tv + videogame console + an extension cord to plug it in and I'd play videogames for 500 days straight or more.

I once spend a year in solitary confinement in prison and whole prison goes crazy because i told the prison chief that wanted to put myself in solitary confinement by my own will. I really enjoy my solitude in there, no fight, no friend, no enemy, nothing but myself...
