I am a landlord and I would love a tenant like you who at least had some ideas and trying to not only maintain the property but make it better. I would gladly help bring your ideas to life, 😅especially if they were neutral for any tenant or to your taste and could be reversed upon your departure. A happy tenant is usually a good maintaining tenant. Love your ideas.

Like what you did with the sink area. In terms of renter friendly you definitely want removable tile, and maybe even some type of removable paint for mirror or to build a detachable Gold frame for Mirror, as a Landlord may decide it needs to go back and charge you/keep your deposit after having to dedicate time to remove the tiles and scrape paint. Anyway, very creative
Um, so you want tenants to do what landlords and their maintenance people SHOULD'VE done before tenants move in...Cleaning and giving your jacked up yet expensive units proper maintenance FOR FREE...
Baby girl you’re definitely creative and artistic I wish I lived closer to you I would’ve installed real tiles for you and helped you out with the labor for free I just can’t let nobody put sticky vinyl tiles over porcelain lol that doesn’t even go there but your ideas were beautiful and inspiring and the coolest thing was your positive mental attitude 💯
Creative and affordable. Great job. Suggestion, use black, grey or gold grout for the spaces between the tiles to get a finished look. Very impressive. 👍
Love all the finishing touches Im not sure about the sticky tiles over the tiles in the shower only because over time the water and dampness will create mold and they can peel off. Love love the rain shower You did a great job selecting the finishing touches

To this date I’ve only had one tile peel away from the wall so I’d say over all the adhesive I used was strong enough to withstand the water & heat , but I do agree that mold can become an issue an would definitely advise anyone looking to recreate something similar to take the necessary preventative steps , that’s something I should’ve looked into myself so thank you for sharing that info !
This looks really good! Don’t be afraid of a real plant. Some grow in water with clay beads and you don’t need dirt. Like a snake plant, does well in bathrooms and low light. Just fyi.

I used “concrete design” contact paper for the shower tiles. It is easier to use than vinyl tiles and gives a sense of higher ceilings and continuity. Highly recommend
It’s awesome. Gray grout will close the gaps in the shower and seal it especially at the top. You can also switch out the light fixture and get a black door knob.
I was thinking of switching the door knob that’s a great idea ! & with the light fixtures I feel like the wall behind it is so brittle I’m scared it’ll just cause more irreparable damage than I can manage lol , i appreciate the tips & feedback ✨

Health alert: Chipping paint is a lead in paint concern. Landlords are absolutely terrible. I would contact them and have them follow up to insure you are not intaking lead
Good start! I appreciate your vision, but the shower tiles definitely look rushed and unfinished. Mold is also an issue of concern for me. I'd paint the tiles in the event that you're allowed to for next time around.
It was very much rushed as I’m a “I want to see the finished result” kind of diy-er so in the case you try this yourself you can definitely take as much time as you need to get it to look the way you want, I’m happy with it nonetheless ☺️
I have that same shower head cause I was like I’m not paying all this money to not have a good shower. It totally improved the experience but I wish I got it in black instead.
I love what you did. You wanted your bathroom to look nice so you got in there and did it. I am a homeowner and I try new things all the time. I paper a whole wall with poster board because I didn’t line the color and I didn’t want to paint it. And I get more compliments on that wall than anything. Go girl!!!
Looks good the only thing I'd do cuz I get some shower have that fake tile look so u have the le the s say the squared lines that make it hard to put tiles on but I would take what ever color u are doing for the grout line and use a sharpie to just get rid of the white lines and you can use goo gone when you remove them when you move ..just a suggestion so the tiles can flow more .. great job
I once lived in an apartment and I was told they would fix the tub. They never did so I did what I had to do too to make it presentable. Your really transformed your bathroom. Great job!

Great job! Just for future even with the beautiful new shower heads, put in a baggy with white vinager and water let soak for 20 min and rinse all the hard water sediment will melt away and water will flow free once again 😉 also the collar around flange that was loose maybe some caulking would seal off, maybe not but im sure youtube has helps 😊 you are so artistic!
My advise is start reaching out to congress. Document everything you find in you units with pictures, dates, and text messages or emails to leave paper trail to show you have reached out to the landlords and let them know what the issues are and give a timely fashion for response up to 48 hrs. If no response to a second reach out to the landlords. Without being rude or in a non-harassing manner. No response reach out for the last Tim with letting them know you’re reaching out to congress and department of health du to the negligence on their behalf. Print out or pdf the emails and forward them to your representatives and let it work from there 😊
My favorite thing is the shower head and the shelves. But the walls turned out really good. Better than I imagined. I would have tried to do better on the shower tiles because I have a problem with perfection lol.... But good job girlie!!

Your apartment complex don’t take maintenance requests? The beauty of renting is having people on call to fix issues in your unit. Your only concern should be creating a fabulous space which you did by the way.

Congrats on your effort to upgrade your small bathroom. My only suggestion would be to put less skin care on shelves in order to reduce clutter in a small space. Also, you have chrome, gold and black finishes. I would probably eliminate the gold.

Congrats on your effort to upgrade your bathroom. You definitely achieved this. My only suggestion would be not to overload shelves with all your skin care as it makes bathroom look cluttered and smaller.
The struggle is real trying to makeover a house that's not yours, wanting to make it yours. I get the look you're going for. You want a bathroom "spa like retreat" to match your personality. You did a good job! I think you should've asked your landlord do they mind if you upgrade the bathroom. Tell them your idea, that it is everything rental friendly. Ask them if you leave the new hardware in exchange for them providing the labor cost. They probably would've gave you the okay, with everything being rental friendly. Anyways, I think you should've got the peel and stick faux tile backsplash from Dollar Tree. The subway tile would look bomb with your decor! They hv a variety, It's also rental friendly. It's still not too late. You can buy 5 at a time take your stick tile down as you go until the entire is complete. FYI: Bathrooms does hv a lot of moisture, you would more than likely hv to use the adhesive. Anyways keep up the good work. New subbie

My brother literally moved in a place how the previous tenants left it, and made it get worse. You know how nasty that is?! Honestly I ain’t even surprised bc I had to live with his filthy🍑when we was younger.😅 Now I needed a place and most of these places won’t accept tenants w/o a job history of working somewhere for at least 3 months, but life keeps f***ing me up. My brother was moving out and I needed to move in. The audacity that boy had when he just wanted to throw my things in w/o me cleaning the place up first. I told him, he may be comfortable living in his own as well as other ppls filth, but I-Can-Not! I’m planing on painting as well as going so far as putting in some cabinets (Not shelves) I wish I could get the landlord to completely renovate the bathroom because the toilet handle is completely busted, and the toilet sometimes floods, the bathroom vanity is TOTALY damaged. The landlord just put plywood over the rotting side of it. There’s a leak in the sink. From my understanding, when someone upstairs takes a long shower or takes baths, the water drains to my bathroom, and floods into my shower. THANK GOD there’s no carpets. If Only God would bless me, I’d be out of this place and into My Own Home.

@@trendytrennyI found a beautiful shower curtain for $20 at Walmart, painted my towel holder a pretty tan color, repainted the walls white, above the toilet I have a shelf that is made with just a piece of wood with 2 straps of leather holding it, on the opposite side of the wall I have a beautiful ocean picture and on my sink I have a ocean candle with real bamboo plant
Now, I have thought about on the wall were the ocean picture is, doing it half way fake shiplap painted or fake brick tiles(glue pasted to a thin plywood that fits the wall) so I won't mess the wall up. If I hung the fake shiplap I would put some ocean hooks on it to hold a couple towels. Above my shower on the long wall stretch across, I have a long piece of drift wood I found at the lake, from my shower head I have fake pine cones with needles hanging.
Everything was good except those tiles in the shower 🙁.. no hate . But I wish u made it more presentable! But everything else !! BOMB ! U did a great job
