Half the battle of decluttering is changing your buying habits. Otherwise it doesn’t take long to get back to clutter. You have to think about how you accumulated that much stuff in the first place 🙂

Meeloy Blogs yes! This is the truth. I’ve been becoming more and more minimal but I had to take a hard look at why I was kept having more to declutter. I was basically just buying junk and throwing it out again. It’s been a revelation!

@@angela.braniff my problem isnt just shopping, it's learning to say no to things people want to pass on to me. I feel like I'm obligated to take the stuff and then it accumulates😒 I'm now at the stage where I say thank you, and then turn around and donate it 😂lol!! Geez.

When you live in China, and the government has advised everyone to stay in the house unless it’s an emergency... Your decluttering videos become sooooooo handy lol. I have been following you since Rosie’s China adoption video and can I just say, you’re an inspiration to women all around the world and especially to moms like me! Sending you thoughts in China with what's happening out there, from here in the UK. It must feel very difficult and worrying for you all. Many of us are thinking of you all; my husband and I were chatting this morning, trying to imagine what it must feel like managing the concern with being housebound. It always intrigues me when people declutter their makeup because I literally just have my liquid base, powder foundation, eyeliner, mascara, blush and one eyeshadow pallet (with 6 color) 😂 You did a great job Angela! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I have never seen so much make up in all of my life! 😉 I have one small box with 2 lipsticks, 1 blusher, 1 eyeliner, 1 mascara and a tube of foundation which I use under my dark circle eyes, I feel like a make up minimalist after watching this ! 😄

I’ve been on this same journey. I used to work in cosmetics so I had a lot, but it was scary old. The other thing I do now: if I have something that I’m not super crazy about like a face serum or cream - I use it on my legs or feet in order to use it up. It feels great to throw away empty containers. 🙌🏻

You don't have to throw away your makeup just because the packaging says so. Just look at it, smell it, try it on a patch of your skin and if nothing happens, it is okay to use it. Believe me, you will know when the makeup is not good anymore. It changes the scent, consistency, pigmentation, etc. Don't waste makeup that is perfectly good to use. :)

The key for me is to not buy another until I am half way through a same or similar item that serves the same purpose. Then I don’t open up the new fun thing until the old ones is used up.Otherwise I will end up with lots of half used products that I won’t want to go back to because they are not new and exciting or because I have found something that works better.

Great job! :) For any future declutters, consider using Terracycle to recycle materials that aren’t accepted in your standard recycling bin. I’d be willing to bet 90% of the garbage could be recycled with Terracycle :)

I recently decluttered and sent a lot to our church's shelter to be parsed out. I imagine face masks and body butters etc can be enjoyed by others instead of moldering in my cupboard. I have looked at what I've thrown out and thought what a waste of money. I'm now more deliberate in what I bring into the home.

Wowee! Even after decluttering it feels like an aisle in a shop, or in a beauty salon stocked with makeup, tanning products etc, etc, etc. I am lucky and/or unlucky because i can't use most products as they react with my skin and hair, and so have limited products which work really for my skin and hair etc. Just need to replace things as and when I need them. Saves a lot of money, time, space and energy- mental and physical! Whew!

Great job!! I think once you declutter the entire home you will come back and do even more. I am a minimalist for sure. Every few months I find us getting rid of a bag or two of stuff. I know my source personally is other giving us items. I have had to really filter items coming in.

Can so relate! I feel like when I decide to do something, I’m all in, or if I want to try something new, I “need” to have all of that particular line, etc. I had been procrastinating do a declutter for a while, but this series of your de muttering has been so inspiring, I’m taking the steps towards simplifying my life. I’m sure I’m older than most of your subs, but I feel like it’s never too late to be true to yourself and do what works for YOU 💖

You have done an amazing job dear Angela! Very satisfying! I am a student and not settled yet, so I keep moving to different places. I always try to be minimalistic and buy whatever I actually use and keep throwing away the stuff that I do not use every month or so. Having less stuff that you actually use and makes you feel comfortable feels really good.

I used too have so much of all those things. One year about five years ago i ditched it all and never looked back. I used to wear make up and now I don’t. Remember to now use up your products before buying anything new (unless you are replacing something because you don’t have any left) or you’ll be back to where you started in no time. Good job though! Changing your lifestyle is not all that easy!
