This client came in and said her hair was extremely damaged. Turns out, it wasnt as bad as she thought! www.deeperthanhair.com www.herstrandzofhair.com music: @visiions
When I saw her hair in the beginning I thought: "This is it, she gonna give this lady a buzz cut!". Her ends were so far gone. Once again, you brought it back to life and gave this lady a chance to save her hair. Your videos give me hope. "It ain't over until it is over.".
@@justiceturner1239 She thinks way too highly of herself. She is extremely lacking in humility and swears she knows all. You never see Deepethanhair being condescending or rude in how she shares her knowledge.
I totally disagree; I have the most thin, life-less head of hair ALIVE! Nothing helps, (hair food, hair vitamins, hair growth shampoos and conditioners) nothing ...I've spent thousands of dollars, over 40 years, NOTHING works...I HATE to wash and conditioner my hair because what little I have, goes down the drain!!
I like when she said "I don't want to stress my clients out" the hotcomb can be the scariest part of the process, especially if you've been accidentally burned by your mama before👀😂 so I appreciate that!
Client : my hair is so damaged, fallen out, burnt, matted, short in the middle, front, back, and long on the sides Kee - ....."but thats not a problem" 🤣🤣🤣🤣 she is always so positive i love it!!
@@DeeperThanHairTv I would like to come to Philly for Xmas to get my hair done. Its natural and I want a color. Ive been using a rinse is it safe to put a semi color in it?
Can you do a series on each of the following: - trimming and deep conditioning your own hair at home - hair regimen development - establishing your own business
Sorry if it is a stupid question.... English is not my first language... What means "block him" in this context? Is it referring to stop men from beating?
The joy and confidence you put back into her just made me tear up! I hate when stylist clown you and make you feel small about damaged hair and then rush you out like you’re nothing. YOU ARE AMAZING!❤
I love how freaking positive she is!! My last stylist really liked to shame people for pressing their hair or wearing it differently than how it grew out of their head. It's such a relief to see a compassionate stylist who not only advocates for healthy hair but ALSO gives you the look you want. Makes me wanna cry.
One hairdresser told me that she was scared of combing my hair, that she didn't expect it to be so easy. I always detangle my hair before going to their salon and I even comb it before re entering the place. It's too much of a hassle. It's her job!
@Welcome's House I understand that. That's why I detangle it before going there. What I find disrespect are the looks she gives my hair like it's a hustle. I went there two years ago and las month I tried a White hairdresser and she treated my hair with to much care and respect, I started crying.
@Falyn Lazarus 😆" YOU KNOW IT, SISTER!.... I remember having such an ugly experience from a so-called professional hairstylist, back during the Jheri Curl era. God knows that I wanted to kill that bitch. "
When I watch other stylists, it’s not a matter of the final product being good or not, I pay attention to how chaotic and disorganized they look when comparing them to what you do. Also, your cuts are as clean as the Board of Health! It’s so professional, polished, always sophisticated and you have a very clear vision with every client. I love it
Silky soft! I could watch her comb it under for ages- it moves beautifully. Stunning result! She certainly does love it by that smile 😃 ha ha just realised I watched this 9 months ago!!! I certainly love the result myself. She suits that style so well
Me to girl, i went back natural because of the issues i had with stylist and my then mid back relax hair. Now that its natural, i'll be the only one doing my hair.
My hair is no where near close to curly and has been damaged for some time now. Not to mention I have had a horrible relationship with my appearance all my life. I never thought to take care of my hair issues until I stumbled upon this channel. You have made a mundane yet complicated task like hair care and made it exciting for me, and that's something I've never felt before. You let us have a peek into your artistic process and transform all of these people and leave them with your final masterpiece. my favorite part is your clients' reactions - some of the biggest and genuine smiles I've ever seen. Anyways, this is just my long winded way of expressing my gratitude for all that u do, thank you :).!
I’m a Caucasian woman with long fine hair and I’m obsessed with this channel. I hope people don’t get offended but I can’t believe what black women have to go through when it comes to their hair! It gave me an entirely new perspective and appreciation. Not to mention the expense of maintaining it. The various styles are amazing.
@@Taylor987-h8j because this is disgusting. It isnt flattering. Why are you all so damn desperate for false flattery from these people? Are you that starved for attention from WW?
I wish I had a hairdresser like her when I was in a deep depression. My hair was really matted up and my hair dresser cut off almost 15 inches without trying to comb it out. My hair is super curly and thick, but I can imagine it would have been simple enough if she can do this for so many amazing ladies. We need more like her who care about people!
Love how you put a positive spin on everything and don’t make the client feel even more self conscious or judged about their hair. You’d be surprised how few stylist have that gift. 😍💖
I have watched several of your videos now. I’m a 61 year old white grandmother and I want to tell you how much I love and admire you! You have such a kind heart. What you do for your customers hair is totally beautiful.
@@chanelcleaves5206 you are so right! I think what she wanted to say was that many wouldn't think white people would care about these sort of videos. I'm white and I'm obsessed with watching black haircare videos because it is honestly an art form. Most of us white girls just wash, dry, style and repeat. Many do that everyday. But to see how black women care for their hair is just amazing, and shows a lot of diligence. Because of these videos, I have actually changed to using black haircare products, and that stuff is GOLD! 👏👏
I am amazed by your work. You do beautiful work! About 80% of hairdressers do not do their job well. You have a real talent for making people feel beautiful. I just want to thank you.❤️
I wish I could find a stylist like you in Michigan. It seems that no one really cares about your hair, it's all about the money. They don't take the time to analyze your hair they will just do whatever you ask and let you go bald. We need more people like you that really care.
The amazing thing about 4 type hair is that it is so architectural and able to be shaped in amazing ways. Really interesting how heat damage affects different thicknesses of hair. A beautiful cut, but even if she wants to renew her natural curl pattern it will feel so much better with those ends taken care of! Just gorgeous 💚💙💜
Always good when a stylist isn't heavy-handed :) I always have to give a warning that I'm tender-headed and the lightest scratch from a comb will cause sores. The hair-braiding ladies would discreetly click their teeth and roll their eyes and braid like they didn't hear me. And that's why they don't get my coins anymore.
These titles be drawing me in lol. Whenever i see "extreme damage" or "no trim in 4 years" i always get excited to see how she works her magic to make their hair healthy again. I love these videos so much!
So I’m Mexican/Hispanic on my mom’s side and white boy on my Dad’s side. I have thick, course, curly hair that reacts to humidity like no other. I thought I had it hard, but I seriously have mad respect for you girls. Natural hair is obviously not easy upkeep. I have a really hard time with my hair sometimes, but I just wanted to commend these beautiful women and all they do to maintain being on top of their gorgeous hair and of life’s challenges in itself. I mean this with the upmost respect and am so interested in all it takes for African American men and women to maintain their beautiful hair. Total props... I never realized until watching videos from many influencers. Thank you for your knowledge and time to educate me in this!
This was a very sweet comment! I’m Latina and Caribbean with very thick curly/wavy hair, I don’t have the same gorgeous coily texture or shine as the client in this video, but when I watch these vids, I see other black women truly taking care of each other and it becomes “deeper than hair.” There is something spiritual about it. Oddly enough, this is female empowerment to me. Sure she charges for her services (as she should) , but the care in her work is priceless.
I am awestruck by the amount of work it takes to care for this type of hair. But also mesmerized by the change, the glossiness, the creative styles you come up with. Can't stop watching your videos. AWESOME!
From one hair stylist to another, you did a beautiful job! The best part about our job is seeing the smiles on the clients faces once we turn them to face the mirror. Priceless!!
My hair looks like hers, had a silk press 2 months ago and my hair is not the same! Love how you transformed her hair. You are so talented and compassionate, I will be a new subscriber, looking forward to following you! God bless!
I’m so glad you said what you said about the lack of knowledge when using heat on hair. Thank you for that. And honestly that goes for anything.. heat, chemicals, extensions, etc.
I couldn't wait to subscribe to your channel when i saw how you cared for your client's hair. I've been able to correct so many of my mistakes while flat ironing my hair. Thank you for your lectures
Omg she and her hair are so cute! I loved seeing her beautiful happy smile at the end. I love when my ladies feel amaze! Yessssss! This was so perfect. Gave me life today watching this video! ❤
This video was healing to watch in an odd way. I use to do hair but lost my passion somewhere down the line. Felt good to just enjoy the process again. It’s really #deeperthanhair for some of us. 💜
You are such a sweetheart! I was cracking up when you said “you don’t want to stress your clients out”….bab-bay when I tell you the hot comb stresses me out!!! You are such wonderful stylist and you are personable. Thank you for all you do.
I have had locs for over 25 years. But i love to watch you work. I have to daughters who also have locs and the say to me, "why are you watching this?😄 I just love your voice and the way you share your vast knowledge of our hair. You never criticize the client for their damaged hair and you make them look good without further damaging it. I can tell you care by the way you handle their hair. I find your videos very calming and i love the before and after. Proud of you Sistren. One Love
Both of my parents died in their early 80s. That was years ago. Nowadays what I remember most about them is their hands. I loved to watch them work with their hands. My mother sewed. My father was a handyman. Their hands told more about who they were than any words could ever say. I watch your hands and I can see how much love you have for what you do.
I NEED that shirt!!! This video was actually very soothing to watch. I love your commentary, just enough to let us know what is being done & your gifted hands do the rest. I'm glad you spoke on being natural & using heat. I feel like with my hair, I've been natural for 15 years now, my hair did better when I was wearing it blow dried/straight. Now that I'm not using any heat & more natural hairstyles (braid/twist outs) it feels like my hair is just doing ok. Length is there, however, it's thinning. It used to be really thick & now not so much. I love a good Bob hairstyle. It's such a classic & timeless hairstyle. I Love your content & I'm a NEW Subbie
I loved the "don't cut past second knuckle, do what you need to do for your test and then figure out what works for you". We're taught to follow all the rules while in school so our teachers and instructors can see that we've grasped the knowledge, and can do it well. If you develop bad habits early on, you're gonna keep doing those bad habits. It takes time to find yourself as a hairstylist, just get the basics down first.
