EXTREME DEEP CLEAN, DECLUTTER & ORGANIZE! I can't believe this happened! My Journey to Minimalism!
Today's video is an all over the place rollercoaster 😂so much happened in today's video, because of the current situation, I was definitely not 100% so I do apologize that today's video was a little off, I hope to be back to my usual self in the next couple of videos. But todays "cleaning confessions" discussion is a really, really important one, maybe one of the most important discussions yet, because I explain why this is happening, why there's still stuff and most importantly I define what my goals are & what minimalism means to my family & I plus so much more! My goal is to show real-life and real expectations for decluttering, organization, cleaning & all things! I really hope you enjoy today's video; I hope its jam packed with motivation and I hope you take something of value away from today's video! I am so grateful you're here with me friend, thank you so much for watching.
PLEASE be sure to head over to Shannon's channel, "Leaf Like on a Tree" this series is in collaboration with Shannon, we are having so much fun with this series, it's been a blast & we really hope you enjoy it. Shannon's PT3 of the series will be out next week, she's taking a break this week from the series, and I will be taking a break from the series next week, I will have a video not related to the series coming out next week. After pt 3 we only have 1 more video in the series. All of Shannon's info is linked down below, please head over to her channel if you haven't already, let her know I sent you, you are going to LOVE her as much as I do!

As someone who lived in California for years where they have some WEIRD obsession with tiling counters, I STRONGLY recommend you do not tile your counters. It's such a nightmare to keep clean! Grout is porous and it stains super easily, and even when not stained it's a nightmare to keep clean. Sending you well wishes as you heal! 💜

Glad you finally went to the doctor and are getting treatment. For Zoe’s sand, put it in a jar with a lid and she can keep it in her room as part of her decor. I remember both my sisters having sand art in their rooms growing up.

Glad it was not a stroke that happened and I hope you get well soon! Maybe the kinetic sand could be put into one of those cute sand art jars with a cork at the top as a memory keepsake.
@carolinecordelia
@carolinecordelia 2 месяца назад
About the sand: maybe you (or your daughter) could make a necklace or something with a small bit of the sand, just to have as a memory. There's small bottles with cork as a lid, you could put like a wire or something into the cork to make a loop for the necklace to go through, just make sure to glue the lid onto the bottle so it doesn't come off. If you don't want to make it into a necklace you can put some into a box frame. I totally understand why she doesn't want to part with it so it's just a suggestion from me to get rid of it without throwing out the memory by letting a small amount stay. Yesterday my mom threw away an old oil lamp my grandmother bought me at a second hand market, it's not very beautiful and I didn't even take it with me when I moved and hardly knew that it was still there, but it was hard to see it in the trash, but I actually thought about something you have said about letting go of sentimental stuff, and I didn't pick it up. I have always had a hard time letting things go, and to see it in the trash is like knives sticking into my heart, but I have been throwing a lot of stuff the last few years that I couldn't throw away just a few years back, so my brain has changed mentally by looking at videos like yours on RU-vid. If I had to move tomorrow there would be less stuff than two years ago, but I still think I have way to much stuff that just sits there for no reason.

For Zoe's kinetic sand dilemma- there are small metal pendants made to put cremains in. Maybe get her one and put the sand in it and she can wear it as a necklace. Or have her do a craft, like mix the sand with resin and use molds to make windchimes to hang in her room. There has to be a way for her honor her grandmother but make it more personal than a baggie of sand. (Having said that, I have everything my Godmother ever gave me. I get her reasoning :) )

I LOVE THIS SO MUCH!!!! Yes I agree 1000% I would like to get the sand out of the bag and do something like place the sand in a metal pendant and wear it as a necklace, omg how incredibly special is that. I absolutely love that idea, we're doing that!!! I never would have thought to do something like that and Zoey will love that so much more! We're also taking your advice & making windchimes using the sand, another brilliant idea. Thank you so so much for sharing this with us, Zoey is going to be so excited. And I totally understand where you're coming from, its so hard letting go of the things we've inherited or were given to us by loved ones who have passed, its hands down the hardest items to make decisions on, those are 100% my hardest items to go through. Thank you so much for sharing, watching & being here with me friend. Hugs 🥰🥰🥰

Acyclovir is an anti-viral. One theory is that Bell's Palsy is caused by a virus attacking your 7th cranial nerve that enters through a very small hole in your skull. The swelling causes the symptoms. I've had Bells before and am on Acyclovir permanently for another issue, so they just upped the dosage during my Bell's episode. Prednisone is the steroid, to help with the inflamation. Hope that you feel better and it goes down soon.

An idea for the kinetic sand. Could you have her find a cute container to keep it in, like a small bottle with a top, keychain with something to hold something in. She can put some of it in there and get rid of the rest. She'll still have some of it for memory since that is special to her.

Danni I am so sorry you are having to go through these Bell’s Palsy symptoms. Thank goodness it wasn’t a stroke. I am amazed you carried on with your spring clean. Just be careful because stress and elevated blood pressure can exacerbate Bell’s Pslsy symptoms, so remember to take some rest in your day where you can. I wish you improved health as soon as possible. You always take such care of others, but you need to remember to take good care of yourself too. If you start to get migraines rest and if they get worse go straight back to the ER straight away. I’m amazed at the size of those pills you’ve been given. How are you meant to swallow them when your tongue is feeling so full?! 👅 Blessings to you Danni, love and hugs to you and the family. 🤗✨💛

🙏 I got Bells Palsy 6 days postpartum after an emergency c-section. It lasted 3 weeks. I went to the ER and the doctor said it wasn’t that because it wasn’t presenting normally so I wasn’t prescribed anything. Then I went to urgent care after because you have about 72 hours after the onset of symptoms to get medication started for best results. The doc there said it of course was Bells Palsy and gave me the steroid. That did NOTHING. Then I finally got to see my PCP and she prescribed me the acyclovir which is similar to what they prescribe for herpes and viral infections. That finally did the trick. I had a viral infection that I got in the hospital during labor and the extreme stress of being a new mom and postpartum depression kicked the virus into high gear and gave me Bells Palsy. I’m so sorry you’re dealing with that, I hope it goes away for you soon. Please do your best to do facial exercises and take your meds as prescribed. Oh, and get eye drops for night time to keep your eye moist otherwise that can cause other issues unfortunately. Praying for you. Love you! ❤

Since this occurred after a dental procedure I would lean more towards the likelihood of peripheral facial nerve palsy over bells palsy. The treatment is similar, but the cause is different. Bells palsy tends to have a viral cause and PFP is caused by facial nerve injury generally from trauma caused by a dental procedure or from localized anesthetic (most common when an injection is mistakenly injected into a nerve). Hope you heal quickly. ❤
@danniraearranged
@danniraearranged 3 месяца назад
I was wondering if the dental procedure had something to do with this as well. I looked up possible causes for this and it doesn't make sense to me, not sure how this happened? Although I did read it can happen to anyone randomly at anytime just because, but its so WEIRD lol. My tongue was numb a couple days before the dentist, so not sure if I did have it, but the dental appt. made it worse? but this has been awful the last couple of days have been esp. worse ugh. And thank you, I really appreciate that, always so happy to see you here with me friend. Hugs xoxo

My daughter got Bell's Palsy from brain surgery it can be caused by many unknown reasons not just viruses. And yes it can be caused from dental procedures, it should get better on it own my daughter's did.
@VaraVannerSimpleLiving

@@mkel858 My understanding was bells palsy was strictly used to describe viral or unknown cause, but I very well may be mistaken. I was just trying to point out that dental procedures can cause trauma like this. I knew a man that became permanently paralyzed on the left side of his face from a bad wisdom tooth extraction, he did not have to pay for his extraction surgery because of this.

Last summer I spent a month looking like Popeye caused by Bell's Palsy. I had to use a vaseline-like eye lubricant to keep my eye from drying out, and I was prescribed the same meds. It was a wild month. The prednisone had me going like the energizer bunny, and I knocked a lot off of my to-do list while hiding out at home because I looked weird. I’ve had Bell’s palsy Danni. I can see your eye isn’t closing so to rest it wear sunglasses . The tongue is the first thing I felt and food dropped out of my mouth. My mouth really dropped and the eyebrow wouldn’t rise and I had a lopsided smile. Mine was stress related ( antenatal ward for 10 weeks) . It lasted 3 months. I rubbed my face with ice as it brings the nerves back. I had a laser put behind my ear as couldn’t take alot of drugs especially steroids as I was pregnant the nerves at the back of the ear need to be brought back into feeling so this is how I was advised to do it . The ice does the same for the face , you freeze the face and then as it gets warm the nerves come back a little bit at a time. I also had to have speech therapy. I had to accentuate the vowels. A E I OU to get the nerves moving. Apparently some doctors and nurses get it due Stress in NHS in the UK. They came to see me on the ward to reassure me when I had it that it will go and get better . So I’m reassuring you Danni it will get better although my wonky eye can still be picked up when I smile and when I’m tired or on photographs I can see it right away but I know it is there it’s not apparent to other people unless I point it out. . All this was 33 years ago and I can’t tell you how many people I have met and reassured them. You need to rest Danni and relax you will get tired. Lots of love. Sending a get better soon message. So glad you took your moms advice to get checked out. I’m going through a decluttering also, huge endeavor for sure. One of the things I donate is arts and crafts material. Paint, paint brushes, craft paper, you name it. I check with the preschool teachers in my area to see if they want it for the classroom. So many times they have to buy the supplies themselves. Just a thought. Get better Danni, stay healthy and take care. ❤

It would be cute with layers of sand in a jar, and a picture of her with grandma pasted on the front. If the jar is absolutely full, it won't shake up and disturb the layers. Other trinkets can be added within the layers, tucked in with tweezers so they are visible. Get well soon and listen to your body! If it's something you'd advise a friend,it's probably something you need to do for yourself!

The purpose of a home is for the folks living there to enjoy it. It is so cool that you give your daughter a space in the dining room to store her crafts/arts instead of making her keep all her stuff in her room. About the bathroom and multiple tubes toothpaste. I store extras in a closet and shop there before going to the store. I do like to buy things on sale. Consider a bin with a lid in the basement of soon to need bathroom items, like extra shampoo. That might help you have more room in your lovely remodeled main bathroom. Please take care of yourself!

You are doing amazing! I think that when you do maintenance decluttering and get better at defining your parameters, you also become way more aware of the tings you don't use. So every once in a while, the decluttering is more intense. Such as this time around for you. That is true growth, my friend! 💖 Sorry to hear about the palsy and that you are also going through some things. Hope it gets much better quickly!! 💕

This particular declutter made me realize that this journey will never end, I think your 1000% right, as I get better at defining my parameters I do become more aware of things I really dont need, want or use. Sometimes I get a little wound up when I see such a large decluttering pile, but I have to also remember its okay & its probably not as bad as I think it is LOL. So grateful you're here with me Ann! And also, thank you, I hope things get better quickly, Im positive they will ❤️❤️❤️Lots of love 🥰

Danni hope you’ll get better soon. I believe in recall healing - please think about it what Bell’s palsy literally says about You, you said that you are going through some difficulties at the moment, maybe it’s manifesting by Bell’s palsy: face concerns what we represent, how we present ourselves to the world, but it is also used to express emotions and show feelings. these may be conflicts such as: losing face, being ridiculed or a conflict of separation relating to the tongue, wanting to have something on the tongue or wanting to get something off the tongue, e.g. to say something. Stay safe❤ lots of love, you are great the way you are remember

This comment also has me doing some serious soul searching, after reading this comment there are so many things you mentioned that really hit home for me, there's challenges im facing currently & there are things im not confronting, things I need to confront and resolve. This comment was my sign! I hope you know how much I appreciate this comment & you! Thank you! And thank you so much for your kind words, Im so grateful you're here with me friend. Oh my goodness Danielle, I'm glad you may have figured it out on what was going on with your face. One thing to maybe research about is getting route canals. If that area is not covered properly bacteria can get in there and cause trouble. I hope you feel better soon sweet friend. Girl I was working so hard on my guest room makeover. I had went to my mom's house last Friday it was nasty out and it was raining the whole time I was there. So we didn't get to do anything big, but I managed to get two lamps!!! I needed a couple of lamps for the guest room and I didn't want to buy them and I knew my mom had some. We have an old Victorian lamp, but once I put the room together, I wanted something different. Anyway once I got back home, I got so sick!!! Very fatigued, tired, running fever of 102. Then I lost my appetite so I'm now weak. I think I'm on the mend of the flu. I have not been able to do any kind of house work or do anything since Sunday. As far as the decluttering and you showed us a few things Zoey had in the dining room cabinet that she doesn't use but is sentimental for her, why not put it into a sentimental bin or like someone else said put that sand into a necklace she can wear on her neck (I forgot what the other commenter called it) Yes decluttering can be challenging at times, but you are doing a great job, just keep at it, you will get there.You are making big strides along the way. I do hope you feel better soon sweetie and how is Ian doing with his heart condition? Any updates on that? Big hugs from Texas!!! 😘😘😘

I have done so much work on my teeth and I have so much more work to do on my teeth, that is so important, and I'm so glad that you mentioned that I never would have thought of a root canal not being covered properly and they're being potential issues in the future. I hate my teeth so much lol I'm so sick of going to the dentist. I cannot wait to see what your guest room looks like, I guarantee it is going to be absolutely amazing. I love home makeovers so much there's so much fun to do, and I love Victorian lamps my mom has some too, I think they're gorgeous but I totally get once you start finishing up an area you start to see what really works and doesn't work in there, I'm always switching things in and out. And I am so sorry that you are sick, 102 temp is no joke. I'm delirious at 101. I sincerely hope that you're okay sending you lots of love I hope you get better soon. I don't blame you at 102 temp being that sick and fatigued I wouldn't do anything either. I should have rested a lot more than I did, it's hard for me to sit still lol this Bell's palsy is the weirdest thing I've ever had in my life. I want this to go away like now lol And I seen and responded to that comment too that is absolutely brilliant we're doing that, I would love to take that kinetic sand and turn it into a necklace and wind chimes I think that would be so much fun and Zoey will love it she's so excited to do that. It's a lot better than the sand sitting in bags ha. Sometimes I get a little wound up when I see such a large decluttering pile, but today's video also made me realize that this journey will never end, that I still have work to do and it's okay to have these piles every so often, and honestly it's probably not as bad as I think it is sometimes I look at some areas and think it's a cluttered mess but in reality it's really not that bad 🤣 and Ian just went to the doctor on the 20th so just a couple days ago and it went good, they do want him to wear a heart monitor I think for 10 days before he does the surgery. But surgery should be in about 4 to 5 weeks. But either that Ian's doing really good thank you so much for asking. I hope you and your family are doing amazing, and I hope you feel better soon friend. Luv ya lady 🥰🥰🥰 big hugs back from MN xoxo

I had Bells Palsy over 20 years ago. I eventually had to get shock treatment to get my face working again. It got 99% better. I have to think when posing for pictures as my face would look twisted. It never affected my life. It lasted for about one month

Oh my gosh I cannot imagine, I am so sorry that happened... I'm so glad to hear that it got 99% better, but how scary. Quick question, did it feel like someone had punched you in your face, neck and head from this? the entire left side of my face, neck, & head hurt so bad. This is the weirdest thing every! Its a bizarre feeling to not be able to have full function of the left side of my face. I did hear the effects usually get better after a couple of weeks, but Ive heard of people having symptoms up to 6 months (in very rare cases, for life) I feel for anyone who has had to go through this, it is awful. Sending lots of love ❤️❤️❤️

@@danniraearranged I am sorry that this is happening to you as well. I did meet a lady who had it for months and was still suffering. I did not have any pain. It felt heavy and I did not have any control over the functioning. The shock treatments were painful. I still have to wear shades in bright light and my eye inadvertently closes. I was required to exercise it after movement returned and I should still do so now but I forget. Ask your doctor if you can take foods for inflammation reduction like Turmeric and ginger and Omega 3. That may help.

I'm so sorry you've had a medical issue lately. I hope that it's improving quickly and that you recover fully very soon. As for the half spray painted tray, I say leave it how it is and donate it. Someone will probably figure out their own DIY project for it and enjoy doing it themselves. My arm has been hurting so I'm taking some time off from my sorting and decluttering to rest my arm. I just realized how much extra lifting I was doing lately with all the boxes and bags of things I've gathered to get rid of. Reminder to everyone: Listen to your body and take breaks! Sending you a big hug! Great job cleaning and decluttering! Happy Friday and have a wonderful weekend!! 😊🐦

Thank you so much friend, I can't tell you enough how much that means to me ❤️ I think you're right, I think just donating it as is probably the best option. It would be a fun DIY for someone. I actually have two of those trays, one of them is in my Halloween bin because I spray painted it black, the other one I had in my DIY arts and crafts cabinet, but I don't need two of them because I never figured out what to do with the one I'm donating. I feel like this household has a lot of duplicates/multiples lol. Dang you are a ROCKSTAR doing all of that work 🥳🥳🥳 so proud of you, that's amazing and you're doing amazing 🤩 yes 1000% agree, listen to your body, take breaks, don't overdo it. I couldn't agree with that more. I can't tell you how many times I would keep pushing and I would overdo it and be so exhausted that I would be completely down and out for a long while afterwards. I'm very sorry to hear about everything you're going through right now. I hope you'll take some time off to rest and reduce stress. There will likely be side effects from the medications (such as increased anxiety symptoms) that you'll have to adjust to in addition to the condition you have. Shannon from Leaf Like on a Tree takes breaks whenever needed so follow her example if creating content causes you any stress or discomfort.
