Extreme HURRICANE IDA eye wall and eye intercept in Dominator Fore from HOUMA to Lockport, LA.

Full video of category 4 Hurricane Ida intercept in Houma and then going mobile inside the eye wall to Mathews and Lockport, Louisiana inside the eye, with minimum pressure measured below 940 mb. The eye of this devastating hurricane was heading NW straight toward Houma before stalling just east, with the western eye wall hammering Houma for hours. The back eye wall was particularly strong. When the eye turning slowly north, I blasted northeast in Dominator Fore to intercept. The eye had dead calm winds with light patches in the clouds above. Then back eye wall then caused substantial damage. We deployed two Subsonic microbarometers in downtown Houma with well-documented tornado-like mesovortices passing over the Subsonic network. We also deployed three storm surge sensors (Surginators) in two bayous in far southeastern Louisiana. We have recovered one of these sensors, but need to return to recovery the other two. The damage left behind by this monster hurricane in southeast LA is absolutely disgusting. The people of Louisiana are tough as nails, and will build back stronger than ever, but they sure could use our help.

Well I disagree because I don’t think this guy isn’t smart based on his position and what he had to do in order to be who he is. I think he’s well informed of the dangers he puts himself in. He’s had friends that died doing the same thing so he’s experienced the dangers as well. I would say he’s brave and understands more than people think he does by judging him for putting him self in these situations. I think he understands the dangers of these storms and how deadly they can be so he risks his own life to understand more about them in order to warn people faster and to actually save people from these storms.

I went through Andrew cat 5 in Homestead, fl and it was exciting but very scary. The aftermath was the worst part, months without power, destruction everywhere from the many tornados it spun out. Later in life I had to work during hurricanes, manning pumps and locks for south fl water management district. I went through cat3 and cat4 whilst driving down narrow shellrock dike roads with canals on both sides which got really hairy when the rain is coming sideways and you cant see the front of your truck..lol. I had a coworker during hurricane Francis had a tornado hit his truck and flip it 3-4 times, luckily he was in a large field with nothing but sugarcane around.

I like how the car was like "ehh 150 mph winds are not that bad" then the trees just go into hyperspace while doing 70 backflips a second

Yeah. Power outage is stressful. There were a lot of generators giving power to residents in Louisiana who are without power ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KlE4RQlcJFE.html here is a video about generators helping people in Louisiana after hurricane Ida. Generators are so reliable for emergency power.

Thanks for this Reed.. I've lived thru every single one in my 54 yrs of living down here and IDA was the worst I've ever seen. IDA surpassed even Laura last year and her Eye passed just 30 miles East of me.

I’ve been through two major hurricanes. One hit at night, and one hit during the day. I’m not downplaying the horrific destruction and tragedy of what Hurricane Ida did to Louisiana. However, it’s actually fortunate that this hurricane hit during the daytime. At night a major hurricane is a much scarier experience. You hear all sorts of loud noises with a hurricane at night, but you have no idea what’s actually going on in the dark.
