I am a huge fan of black and white, love it! This little night stand now has personality and glamour! What a cutie it is I can totally understand why you kept it. Great design and it is so much fun!
The $21 you spent on this one was well spent, IF you appreciate all of the knowledge gained. I am in awe of your “stick with it ness!” ~ the patience of a Saint. Often times, I have found, the difficulties we encounter make us stronger and better in so many ways. After this ordeal, your courage meter has gone way up in terms of “yes I can.” Congrats…your personality gave you success a hundred fold. And, once again, you have spurred me onward to the battle. God Bless you for sharing.
This is the reason I love your videos, we get to see what works & what doesn’t. You don’t give up. Yes for 3M tape. I wasn’t sure about the blue, but it turned out beautiful.
I absolutely love this piece. And really, how could you part with it after all you went through! Lisa, you are the most persistent person with your furniture. Seriously, I would have just given up and cried ( after I pulled my hair out). You never do, just regroup and refocus and try again. I’m learning not to panic from you. Thanks!
I think this turned out perfect. Aside from the hiccups with the tape and sealer. You kept going and stuck with it. Great video, and gorgeous piece❤❤😊😊
Sooo cute!! Love, love, love it! That pop of blue is gorgeous. I literally cried out, nooooooooooo, when your second attempt pulled that black off though, been there and its a wee bit heart breaking😭I honestly don’t know how you kept at it after that, that was some serious Buddha-on-da-mountain patience you exuded there woman, so inspiring!
I love this!! Your patience with fixing your mistakes is inspiring. Thanks for showing us those parts. Makes me be easier on myself when I have something that doesn’t work out-which is on every piece 😅
Thank you so much for sharing your struggles with us instead of just what went right. I’m so impressed that you stuck with it and now you’ve learned so much.
Love that! What a statement piece! The duck egg blue is perfect, and I love it styled with the coral and the Herron picture. Oh, I do love an "ugly duckling" challenge, and I'd have voted for this one. I admire your patience.
Lots of work went into this one! For me, those stripes are just too hard to look at. I love the interior color! I would probably used Frog Tape. I’ve had great success with it on several projects. I do appreciate your honesty and candor.
Yes, I like Frog tape too. They just didn’t have the widths I was looking for. 😕 I know it’s not for everyone. I actually kept it for myself and it lives in a little alcove in my dining room. 😊
I absolutely love the finished result! Yes! It’s bold! I have to tell you I had to laugh when you pulled that tape off and the black was runny and then it came off with it! OMGoodness! I kinda saw that coming! Beennnn there! But you turned it into a great “teaching moment”! -Grabbing something/any something; thinking it will do the job! - Trusting a poor quality product; when your gut tells you stick with what you know. Etc,etc! In the end you did a fantastic job with that piece so, kudos to you!❤
The black & white is very bold but I like that you added the lighter color on the shelf. It’s very cute. Not my taste but it is very cute for someone who really likes bold. Your hard work paid off.
I had my doubts about the stripes. Well you provided me wrong. The blue is what made the piece with the black and white stripes. Awsome. But if the blue was not there I dint think I would have liked it so much. Great job.
I just finished the black and white night stand bold contest. I’m sorry but when you pulled off the tape and it pulled off black I had to laugh out loud, something I almost never do while watching TV. I always enjoy watching you because you explain everything to us even when you screw things up you own it, learn from it and explain that to us. Thank you for all of the insight you share with us. I’ll be watching, and will try not to laugh to often. ❤😊
Mistakes happen! Thanks for sharing! I have found that if I spray the foundation color on first (white) over the taped lines, let that dry, and then spray on the black, it prevents the black from running.
Well I’m definitely not a black and white striped person but this piece works and that pop of blue is just perfect. If it matched anything in my house I would be proud to have it in one of my rooms. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻❤️❤️
It is bold and beautiful! A statement piece for sure! So I’m so glad you showed your challenges. All I can say that I would be editing out expletives if this were me!😅
Oh my goodness, I think I would’ve cried through that!😩 It turned out so great in the end tho. Do you think the heat gun could’ve caused the black paint to adhere to the tape and come off? I know you thought the first dealer was the culprit, but that was another thought I had. Thanks for helping us learn along with you.💜
The moment I saw you using that yellow tape I knew it was not gonna work. That tape is horrible. It bleeds no mater what you paint. Someone gave us a bunch of them and we though we were getting a deal till we found out why. Bad tape. So sorry for all the work you put into it!
Right?! I used it because I was going for a specific size and it didn’t come in that size in 3M…but, I should have adjusted the size and it would have saved me all that trouble. 🥴🫠
