Well I been thinking about turning my necks. I have not for 52 year's what I learned is the diameter is the same for both an tension so any extra brass is to the outside of the diameter

What's needed is a neck turner that does both the inside and outside of the neck at the same time. And one that doesn't cost $2500 bucks because they think we're all morons.

I agree with you on both counts. I am also starting to think neck turning is not even necessary unless a person has a custom rifle or a very tight chamber. Thanks for watching and posting.

Good video 👍 one thing I noticed was the target moving with the wind, the outliers seemed to appear when the wind picked up and swayed the target a little

Yeah, that wind can be terrible out here. I watched the video carefully myself while editing but did not see a good correlation between the wind gusts and outliers. I suspect it did effect the bullets though and likely effected all the groups shot that day. Thanks for watching and posting.

A lot to process there. Is there a chance of a barrel swap in your rifle's future and if so do you have a small handful of brands that you are considering?

Hello Aaron, Good question. About a year ago I started looking into a new barrel for the RPR with the idea that it will reach its end of life. But upon studying velocities, etc. (and the fact that I only have 1400 rounds through it now... I keep an exact record) I tabled the idea. Today, If I change the barrel it would not be that I shot it the current barrel but rather that I want a better chamber and throat/leade. I am open to suggestions on brands. Thanks for watching.

question: initially my neck wall thickness on my PMC & Rem. cases were inconsistent but as I reload for say the 3rd or 4th time the neck wall thickness appears to be evenly consistent all around. Am I experiencing something or am I just imagining whats going on and maybe should get a better calliper ?

That is hard to answer. Brass flows during firing and it is theoretically possible that repeated firing, case prep, etc. could effect the change you are seeing. I am measuring case neck thickness with a Mitutoyo 115-313 tube micrometer. If you are using a jaw caliper that may explain the change also. The take home message from our test is that neck wall thickness needs to be highly variable before we see an effect on precision. Thanks for watching.
