Yes, I'm alive... I know... been way too long time since my last video, but somewhere I lost my interest of uploading videos. Sorry for that.
Anyway, this is the solo for Extreme's song "Rest in Peace", which I learned just a moment ago.
I was watching the swedish X-Factor on TV but got so f****n bored, so I decided to learn something new. I miss a couple of notes in the beginning, but... I don't care that much, haha!
The video was taken with my iPhone 4 leaning against my desktop speaker with the iPhone's built in microphone pointing at the center of the speaker. It's also the small camera, so I can see what I'm actually recording, so the quality isn't exactly perfect. But... I don't have the patience to use my Canon EOS550D and editing and all stuff. So, I guess this has to be the way I upload things from now on.
Anyway, the guitar is an Ibanez Roadcore RC320 wich I got just two weeks back. I really dig it!
Feels like a telecaster to play, but sounds darker... like a Les Paul, but a bit thinner.
I got a .009"-set on right now, but it sounds better with heavier gauges, which my fingers have trouble with... my middle finger hurts due to a tractor accident many years ago.
The sound comes from my Boss GT-10. I didn't save the preset, so don't ask...
And I don't have any tabs, I used my ears and slowed down the speed of the song in windows media player to pick the notes out.
So... I wish you guys a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!
Cheers! / Fredric

Thanks. It's really not that hard, but it takes som practice of course. The fact that the solo is really fun to play makes the learning process a bit easier as well! Give it a try will ya!

Props for not redoing this video just because you hit the camera with the guitar. It's better this way :D

How did you get one without the pickguard? Or did you just take that off? If so, how? Thanks

Hey my friend ive had a roadcore for about 4 months now and i love it but i really wanna take the scratch plate off.. Did you take it of yourself? If so could you tell me how? Im only asking this cause its glued down and i dont want to mess up the finish.. Thanks... Nick.

Yes, I took it off myself. It wasn't hard at all and it isn't glued, it's like... *don't know what it's called really*... a sticker. Take a guitar pick or something that is thin enough and carefully put it between the body and the pick guard (I did this near the guitar neck). Then when you have enough space to get a grip with a finger - do so... and just pull it off. You won't damage the finish, but there might be some left over from the adhesive. I got rid of the adhesive with some ethanol I think. It's not a big deal, just do it and enjoy a beautiful guitar! Good luck! Let me know how you did! Take care!

Hey, man. Was hoping you could tell me something. I noticed your roadcore doesn't have a pick-guard. Did you remove it and, if so, how? I love the look of this guitar but don't care for the guard.
