This is a tiny ABC Cycle Sleeper from the 1970's. They were initially designed for motorcycles but work perfectly for old VW's and smaller cars. I bought two of these trailers for one money to flip. One had a brand new canvas, but sadly that canvas matched the other trailer so on this one I had to make the canvas as well as refresh and restore the outer portions of the trailer frame and shell...#junkinthistruck, #abcyclesleeper #motorcyclecamper

Neat trailer, didn't take too long to finish in spite of the rain, and the young man (They're only that size for a short time). That's life though. I'm sure the person who get it will love it.😊 The days are numbered on working on Pickle this year. 😕

Yes...he's my sidekick for now, but I know that probably won;'t last forever! My friend that bought it camped with us in it this weekend! I will work on Pickle even in the cold...plenty to do that is "inside" work!

I come from talented and very resourceful parents! Mom was always sewing and Dad was welding or wrenchin' put all that influence together and you get me I guess! lol They were "influencers" before that was a thing and lived the reuse, recycle, restore lifestyle long before that caught on!

Very nice resto, and refurbish on the trailer. I noticed you sewing machine, I have two Singers. One is from 1946 and the other is 1956, which I use for upholstery of my last Bug and my current Oval.

I LOVE that machine it is an AE model with straight stitch only and knee lever presser foot control...I have a new machine but would much rather sew with this one any day. Sews like a dream!

@@marcijunebug I used my Singer 201K for upholstery of my '59 Beetle, but recently bought an industrial AG series 241-13 mode, straight stich, no reversel that I hope will have more power for sewing the vinyl. Really enjoy your videos, and your talents. Keep em comin'

yes, backing this thing is extremely difficult, I have done it, but it is much easier with a buggy whip antennae sticking up off the back of it! lol Almost impossible to back! Yes the little one is quite the comedian! 😆

I spent the first 10 mins of your video itching to fly over and clean that trailer! Lol 😆 Is there anything you can’t do? I was amazed when you sat at that old singer (?) sewing machine and just took off. Those old machines still sew better than any modern machine. I used to see those kinds of trailers back in the 70s over here (unlike you, I AM old). Great to see you restoring them 👍

haha! Yeah I FINALLY got it all clean and shiny! Almost looks new~ The machine is an old Singer AE model with only straight stitch and it sews like an absolute dream! It has a knee lever presser foot which makes canvas work or any kind of big bulky work much much easier! It is such a cool trailer, wish companies still made stuff like this. Now days they are all just junk!

If you have Harbor Freight in your area you can get really nice LED tail lights at a decent price. You can of course see them on line. They have a lot of stuff for trailers as does Tractor Supply if you have them. Neat little trailers.

yes, the tail lights I bought as the replacement bolted right up exactly in the same holes as the original so I didn't even have to patch the old holes! the other trailer like this I have also needs lights, so I'll see what I can come up with for those!

Thats so cool!! You do very unique things! It will bring a lot of fun. That drill bit had to hurt a bit. My buddy not long ago was trying to mount a very large old vice to his bench top. Theyre heavy! We found it at a thrift store. Looks like it came from an old mill. Needless to say, it fell off the bench right on his toes, and he was wearing sandles. 😳 I think he actually created a whole new series of profanity that I couldn't decipher. Great videoas usual!!

😆 man I'm telling ya, that drill bit took me DOWN...I'm hard to "hurt" and that was like "ok, that hurt, I need to lay down" Dalton was out there with me when it happened and his face was like...uh ohhh he knew I was hurting. I laid down for 15 min or so right there in the carport he was running and getting me ice and water. Took me a minute to gather myself but was back at it soon! Nothing hurts like a puncture wound! thanks for always being here and supporting my madness! Truly appreciate it! and YOU my friend are almost to 1K subs!

I'm neck deep in the 58 panel bus with tons more work to come on it and it's a full on build, engine, trans axle, front beam, etc etc...so there will be lots of variety on it! And I have a couple old scooters, a mini bike and hit miss powered trike build I hope to get to soon! lol so many projects and ideas, so little time! Wow. Maybe that's not enough, but in the time that I've been watching/subbed to your channel, I haven't seen anything that you couldn't handle. Engine diagnosis & repair, welding, painting, body & frame work, camp trailer reconditioning...and Mom to a buffer that believes he's a child. What a riot he is! One question though: you've got someone else shooting the roadside & aerial footage, right? What equipment do you use? Hmm, I think that's 2 questions :) Thanks for sharing!

haha yeah..."jane of all trades, master of none"...that kid...cracks me up. As you can tell from me laughing I was crying I was laughing so hard! All the video in that one was shot my me, myself and I. The drive by stuff I park the truck and run down and place the camera...run back to the truck and jump in and drive by, then park the truck and run back for the camera...the drone stuff is new to me. I have a drone with and auto tracking feature, that was the first time I'd ever used it! It is a Mavic air 2, very pricey bugger but I sold some art work so I spent it on that! lol I don't buy myself toys like that very often but when I do I make sure they are expensive! ha

@@marcijunebug An auto-tracking drone, hm? Well, that's got to give you a good feeling to know your drone's not off on its' own adventure. I've seen a video clip where 1 unfortunate drone user set his controls down while recording, and they slid off the cliff he was sitting on with friends. I felt bad, but it WAS funny!

Congrats for having such a cute funny little guy to have some laughter with. It was sooo nice to hear you both. 2) 😱 Uuuuh, that blood trail, I almost fainted! 😁 There is some kind of a saying in Germany that I try to translate: Meeensch, dann bohr' dir doch ein Loch ins Knie! Maaan, then drill a hole in your knee! Means something like: Do what you want if you won't listen to me! Grrr... Because of your wonderful artist work I would have bet that the new metal foot plate you added would be shaped like a foot print. 😋👅 4) This micro camper trailer turned out to be extremely well repaired/ restored and improved. Boy,a ton of questions. I am really interested in this type of camper. With the fiberglass open like that, what paint do you use? Can a simple enamle work, or do you have to go with a morre complex coating? Awesome content Marci, thankyou.

I used Kylon enamel over rustoleum 2X primer/paint. I experiment with different things all the time and this combo actually worked really well. Boat paint is a harder more durable paint and I've used it in the past for fiberglass projects. It works great but it is a bit pricey and I didn't have any and was trying to save costs on this trailer so went with the spray paint. I wet sanded everything down before painting, then tack cloth with acetone, then tack with water before painting

I posted them on social media (instagram) when I brought them home and a friend of mine saw it and said she wanted one, so when she came over the next time I had her pick which one she wanted and she chose the white one! They are so cool!

Marcie what is the weight capacity of these little trailors? I guess they don't weigh much either!

I'm not sure on this exact model, but have had a few and they are usually around 500lbs max for what they can "haul" and the total weight of the trailer unloaded is probably 100-150lbs. Not much to them really. The heaviest part is the wheels!

I always say there is nothing I won't "try" to work on or fix! It might require 100 phone calls to my dad for the mechanics stuff and 100 to mom for the sewing stuff but I'll get it done! ha

As I said in video, this one already sold but the other one (dark blue) at beginning of video you can see it In the back of the truck it is just like this one I still have and it will be for sale, but it will likely be spring before I can get to it, it has the same floor issues, but has a new in box canvas and the wheels and such are already converted
