i need help! ive just got this kit and my riddon connetion look nothin like this board mine on my pad are small thin ones? do i have a newer pad and need to find older one...
Just want to say that the person or persons you have looking after this channel are amazing. Answering everyone's questions and taking in honest feedback. Its hard to get places that still do that these days. Great job guys!
If I only want to have X and O on my back paddles what steps can I skip? I took apart my P5 controller, but I am confused which step do I start from after that?
Apparently when you install it correctly you'll be able to hold down the button on the back until the device's light turns red. Then you can press X, and a paddle then I and a paddle. That being said I didn't install mine correctly lol that's just what I found
if it isn't working when you reassemble, they said skip plugging in the r3/l3 and touchpad cables after you put the battery but that's incorrect. everything needs to be plugged in regardless at the end. this tutorial is horribly explained
I just wanted to let y'all know that this video is perfect as far as instructing. The soldering was not nearly as scary as I was anticipating, and the kit fits flawlessly. This is truly a professional upgrade. The material of the new controller back plate and all the rest of the plastic is high quality, and the white matches the tone of white of the original controller. I have installed 3 kits, one for each of my controller, both the 010 and 020 and they all went smoothly. A tip for anyone attempting this install, BE CAREFUL when connecting the strips into the little slots, if you push to hard, you can break both the male end on the strip, and the female piece that it slides into. I messed up one of all of this and ended up having to un solder and re do it with a new strip. Now I have a spare parts kit, but just be careful and gentle!
Hi, I got the same issue, but I manage to fix it. With me it was the L3/R3, btu I believe its the same sulution. When you are finished with the install, the 3 small clips (on the top of the battery) needed to be pushed in more. I opened the controller, pushed them in, and closed the clips again. And everything is working! I love this new upgrade, my thumbs can finally rest.. Hope you figure it out!
I did everything he did in the video except the optional part and when ever i got done putting it back together it wouldn't turn on. Has this happened to someone else??
I just fully installed it and now nothing works in game? All my buttons work outside of game but nothing works in game. I have found the reason why is that l2 is held down permanently for some reason
Hello, slightly confused on the soldering part and message, do you mean that if i dont want to assign the L3 and R3 to the back buttons, i dont need to solder anything? Or is it to keep them working as normal we need to do some soldering?
Pretty spot on, but you instruct the viewer to skip ahead if not soldering or remapping the touch pad / l3 and r3, then start the reassembly process with threading the red varnish wire with the touchpad connector. If you skip the touch pad / l3 and r3 sections, you’ll have no idea where that red varnish wire came from. ExtremeRate supplies that wire, but wasn’t sure if there was one already present in the controller that I needed to thread out in between the touch pad and the frame. Just a small detail that threw me off for a few minutes while I scrubbed back through the video to make sure I didn’t miss something.
Am I the only one whos L1 doesnt work? I connect the L1 side and the Controller turns off and wont work. When I Revert the Stock wire then my L1 doesnt work? why? Help?
So careful when “skipping” through. After the remapping touch and L3/R3 there is literally no mention of what to do with the black cable that goes on the back of the battery until you have to start plugging in the other cables. There is a good chance you’ll put the whole thing together to go, “well what the heck, I can’t program anything or connect this.” Then you realize everything explaining that part is in the stuff you’re told to skip.
That is _exactly_ what happened to me, man. I was so pissed. Had to go back n undo everything fix that, put it all back together a second time around. I REEEEAAAALLLLYY_ wish I had looked through the comment section here first. Would’ve been a massive pitfall avoided. Oh well. I’m just super stoked it all works.
Just a heads up @38:30 they say that "if you arent remapping L3 and R3, you can skip the plug process. DONT SKIP THIS and plug the cables in anyway. I was trying to figure out what was wrong for an hour after I finished and just tried it cause I was running out of ideas. Their directions on this are wrong. If you go ahead and skip the step you wont get any power to the red little motherboard that handles all the remapping.
Hello. My controller still charges with USB C cable, but it no longer turns on my PS5 using the PS5 wake up mode button. Any ideas what could have happened? I’ve taken it apart to see if I missed a step but nothing?
I'm still so pissed that Sony didn't add paddles or just release another back button attachment. I use my dualshock 4 whenever possible still because of how much better it is to play with paddles that you can easily customize This just looks like a little too much time for me tho. The instruction video seems really good, and the price of the kit is awesome but I'm just too busy lately. Sony needs to get their heads out of their ass Even with custom button mapping in games and console, the need for paddles is always there. Especially since I'm a southpaw stick player, you got no idea how much it helps me out in some games.
I followed the steps and the paddles work in my ps5 menu but when I launch a game I’m unable to click any buttons it’s as if my controller is unresponsive when I go into a game but I can still click the ps button then in the menu all the buttons work
I did everything right in the video, but when I try to go map the buttons, the light flashes quickly as opposed to slowly, but if I try again it blinks slowly but my buttons still aren't mapped
Please contact our customer service via email at info@extremerate.com and let us know which part defected, we will help you to resolve the problem, thanks
Hi iv installed this and am sure iv done every thing right but my controller will not turn on just keeps flashing orange if you could help me understand this issue I’d appreciate it thanks
I did the installation step by step except for the touch pad part and then I tried to set the paddles to the buttons I wanted but it didn’t work. I did hold the button on the paddles until the light turned on and then pressed the paddle and button that I wanted to configure until the light blinked three times then press the back button to turn of the lights and tried using the paddles but it didn’t work. Any ideas why it isn’t working? Did I mess up the installation?
@@CraigsChannel I had the original plastic black ones that broke I replaced them with metal ones. I’m just gonna leave the remap kit and try fix the drift. Lol. Thank u so much
@@yurpcrusher123 If you got in touch with them they'd have sent you the newer plastic paddles, v3 is the newest so wouldn't snap. Drift is a horrible. Did you see they've released a video showing you how to kind of fix it with the drift adjusters
Hello from Russia, please help! I want to install this device and backlight. at 10:25 you put the main flex cable on, the glow device has the same one. Do they need to be stacked on top of each other? Thanks!
So technically you do not need to cut the ribbon at all. Just use what ends you need and put electrical tape on the other ends. Just in case you need to reuse the kit for another controller model.
First time trying one of your products. I have the kit all assembled on a BDM-010. I followed your guide, but I am not sure on how to actually use the buttons. When I go to keybinds in games and stuff, I can’t select the buttons as a key. For instance, if I was playing CoD and I wanted to set one of the petals to act as O, how could I do that, or is it even possible? I know I’m a bit late to the party but I would appreciate the help
I can’t get the back plate off after removing the four screws and undoing to two latches. It is stuck near where the bumper would be. Nvm I just had to give it a big yank
He makes it easy but I will definitely not gonna buy this due to my lack of experience of fixing stuff, I will break it and no one will help me to fix it! If I ask other ppl help me to put it one, the price will be buying a pro controller or more! Stupid product !
Im currently installing it. Bumping into a problem at 33:18. My two holes are centered out to far. The piece wont fit. Im gonna cry. Anyone know what to do?😢
The pice you plug-in to the buttons. Where you put the 2 holes onto the motherboard. I couldn’t get the on right. They kept falling off. They were on fine and I closed it all up and the controller buttons on the right side wouldn’t work anymore. I opened it back up and the pice had a hole punched into it cuz it fell off again. So it’s useless now.
hey, i bought this product but my controller is not the same as in the video... when i open it I have four cables left and right... the red and black (like in the vid) and also a green and yellow one... I also do not have the big cable on the site, my cables are both the same size (like the small one on the left hand site in the BDM-010)... I really don't know what to do... can somebody help me? the model its CFI-ZCT1W A (should be the BDM-020?) thank you! Edit: The controller is a new version... you can see it at the FCC ID on the back of the controller... is there a updated product....?
I loved the video, very good, but I put everything together and now the X button doesn’t work. Any idea what it could be / what connection it could be? Thank you!
For any reason the led won't turn on. I did the installation twice just in case I messed up connecting the flexors even in the motherboard extreme kit, but It won't work... My model in BDM020. Any ideas?
I just got my Remap Kit, and I have a question before installing it. Does the DS frimwire affect the kit any way? Couse i just updated my controller to the latest firmware.
Can I just pay someone to do it for me? I tried.. it didnt work, but I'm willing to pay to have this done on a default controller. HexGaming doesnt include LED lights smh.
Hello everyone, i fitted the paddles to the back of my PS5 controller and all works fine - except my touchpad button no longer works. has anyone else had this problem and is there an easy fix?
I bought the 2.0 version today and fitted to a brand new controller. The controller won't turn on when assembled. If I remove the paddle kit back to standard it works again. This is my third time fitting a new paddle set to a new controller and can't work out what I have done wrong, anybody ?
Can anybody get me a link for soldering gun? I was looking at video stressed knowing this is beyond my capabilities. I need to buy the soldering gun and the kit but wanna be sure I'm purchasing the right one. Is there a option to buy a controller with kit already installed?
Someone please help, who can I send my controller too. I have the clicky hair trigger kit, and the real metal paddles I just need someone to install it for me. I will pay! Please and thank you🙏🏿
I just got and installed my BDM 020 but i saw they are coming out with a 4 paddle kit. Will i be able to jus swap my board and paddles or do i have to reopen control to install the 4 paddle over the 2
@@Tonyy9O Yeah, there's another video where they mention setting the iron to 350 C. I went a bit lower at 650 F which is what I normally use for guitar electronics.
Only just got my ps5 2 days ago and was instantly missing my paddles on the controller, this kit is amazing and some nice designs too! I was really worried doing the installation though but with your guide it worked perfectly first time ❤️
@@halfcoolbacon I was the exact same but honestly the controller is more robust than you think, if you follow this guide you can’t go wrong either. I took the, what I thought risk, and glad I did. A lot easier than you think
Wait sorry. What is the difference between BDM10 and BDM20? All I am doing is remapping the back paddles to “x” and “o” that’s it. And I’m putting it on the newer blue controller. Someone please help.
Worst thing I’ve ever bout idk if mines is faulty but at 33:11 when i try to align the connection points they don’t align the extreme rate part is to small for the controller part
OK I need yalls help my bf bought this kit for his controller he installed it but can't get power to his controller now. He is very upset what can I do
I got the metal upgrade with the red board but I can't map the buttons So I put back the green board that I was using and it's working. How can I get the red board to work?
I think you can can’t cut nothing..in case you change version of pad don’t need rebuy..simple don’t connect the other version but you can don’t cut nothing
Hey ! I prefer having a service and send my controller to y’all to set up the back attachement so there is a service for that ? I don’t want to open my controller and mess it up
So I got this for a Christmas present and I hooked it all up and now my controller won’t connect. It flashes orange when u click the power button and when I plug it in. I’ve tried everything on RU-vid videos. Can anyone help?
Mate I wanna buy this but I’m scared Il fuck it up, I’m so confused with this video, I’m just so shit with instructions, wish I could buy a pre made one :(
just installed & red light for remapping wont come on, did no soldering so not sure what it is. even took apart & made sure cables were in twice, still no luck
Ran into trouble. Was going for simple install (no solder) but no luck with back buttons working. Looking to confirm is the wire required for this install or just needed for the touch pad?
Привет из россии, помогите пожалуйста! Я хочу установить этот девайс и подсветку. на 10:25 Вы ставите main flex cable, на девайсе для свечения есть такой же. Их нужно друг на друга ставить? Спасибо!
Worked like a charm, I was a little worried about taking on soldering for the first time but it was nothing to worry about. I now have back buttons again and I'm a happy guy.
