Another excellent video Maaike. The problem of having a big collection (I don't considder it a problem though) is that there is a lot of overlap or room to create similar looks from within your collection. It's wonderful that videos like these give people options to go with personal preferences and still get the vibes of that one palette that's unavailable.
I really appreciate videos like this. I'm newer to make up and the thought of buying a huge palette is really intimidating. It's great to see some smaller, less expensive alternatives that will give the same vibes. Thank you! 🌹❤️💄
I don't love big palettes either but they can get expensive and unless you've been around like I am than it can be a bummer you can't find something or that you have to shell out lots of money for something, when the truth is you don't as long as you look around.
Hi Maaike as someone with a fairly small makeup collection (at least in the viewers of beauty videos), I will buy the more expensive palette for a colour scheme i'll get a ton of use from. However for something that I'll only wear occasionally, then I don't want to spend a ton of cash. My last two palette purchases were the rose quartz (enough everyday shades for me with some pops of shimmer/glitter for fun) and the viseart petit pro etoile (great viseart quality that gives me the navy and teal that were lacking in my current palettes, yet with a great purple I would wear more often). I consider my purchases really carefully as I'm on a budget and don't feel I need a huge collection of makeup. I can see how (even as just a viewer of youtube beauty videos) easy it would be to get caught up in the hype of all the new releases. That's not me though and I deliberately wait until the hype dies down, before I decide if I really want something. Showing alternatives is a good idea - once it's on the eyes no normal person is going to ask if it was such and such a palette. They're just not and the vast majority of my friends have never heard of half the makeup brands featured on youtube. It is possible to get a similar look from more affordable brands, but for me it's about quality and staying power. I find some of the more affordable shadows don't last as long, plus the shimmers tend to be a bit chunkier - not all, but some. For all day wear that's an issue, but for a few hours with a specific outfit - not so much. Just my take on it lol. Best wishes.

@@FloatinginDreams it seems to me Lime crime overall is underrated or ignored. I Iove their eye shadows and glosses. They have really interesting colour stories IMO
Wow, the Wilderness palette comparisons are so useful! I have it and never thought of it this way but it's true, I actually own 3 Melt palettes in 1! 😁 I also think the formula is frickin' gorgeous, that lime green shimmer alone is worth the cost of the whole thing.
I ended up not loving the quality of the Beauty Bay Wilderness palette. I far prefer my Melt ones. I ended up repotting my 6 favorite shades into a Kaleidos palette. That way I can keep that lime green shimmer (because that is a stunning shade) but the formula of the overall palette just wasn't for me.
Love the Natasha Denona minis, I bought a bunch lateley as Sephora had some on sale. Melt Cosmetics has some beautiful palettes for sure. Hope you are having a great day. ❤️🥰
If you have a hard time finding the Venus xl 2, there’s a brand on Amazon that has a dupe for it for like $10! I think it’s called ucanbe, or something similar. I have the lime crime one and it’s got such pretty shimmers and toppers that were ahead of their time for sure!
I love this idea!!! There should be more videos like this. 👀 It's so frustrating if you buy new palettes and then a little later you see you basically already have it😔 I don't even wanna know how many almost dupes I have 😢

You’ve got such great ideas for videos.. have you seen the newest Nabla palette that’s releasing? I’m quite tempted Bc I enjoy their formula.. it’s kinda neutral, but more mmph than the side by side was
I just had a look and it is not sparking my interest. I also didn't like Side by Side as the shades pulled weirdly on me. And I already own the Secret palette and the new palette looks like a more warm toned version of that.
Hi , for me i generally use a mix of charlotte tilbury and natasha denona , these two brands serve me well , as with natasha i only have four midi palettes but all her mini palettes which i love and are fun to use , but my passion are my collection of charlotte Tilbury , i do believe i have all her quads and all her holiday palettes these are my treasures , so keep me happy , but alas i will not travel with her palettes so i then will use natashas collection as i love now we are able to travel these mini palettes will come into use and serve me well .
Where did you get the information that Urban Decay is discontinued in Europe? I can't find anything that confirms this. It is still widely available in Germany.
We haven't been getting releases, the brand has been selling products on sale for months, and in store stock has been disappearing. It is for sure being pulled from the Benelux, but I have seen people saying the brand is being pulled off shelves in France and Germany too. It may be one of those: while stocks last situations where they will sell what is still there and then quietly go away. It may be available for some time, especially online, but the brand has been struggling for more than a year.
@@FloatinginDreams , yes, they are pulling from stores, but that's a conceptual thing, many brands arebnot available in stores. All the online retailers still carry Urban Decay, and it's not on permanent sale either. I am not sure if they are struggling, the online perception offen differs widely from real numbers, so I would have to look that up. Frankly, I'd be surprised if they were pulling out of Europe, the European market is way too big for such a decision to make sense financially. I am not too worried about not getting all releases either, that has always been the case with Urban Decay.
@Kris Stina The German and Dutch Urban Decay sites have been shut down. One of the ladies of a retailer that sells Urban Decay confirmed that the brand definitely is being pulled from the Benelux and online almost everything is on sale, not just in the Benelux, with no new releases added. So the signs are not very hopeful.

Mhh not all expensive eye shadows are better for everyone . I am not impressed with ND and Pat McGrath quality. I have several palettes and each time was underwhelmed in swatching, application and wear. Absolutely not worth the price to me. I have found similar or better looking and wearing shimmer shades in something as cheap as Revolution of all places .... BH Cosmetics too. And all my indie shimmers are much better no matter the brand 😐mattes are average too... ND can be patchy too... I would probably be happier with the dupes 🤔
Oh I am not hating on drugstore eyeshadows. I have many that I love and indeed in terms of multichromes and duochromes indie shadows take the cake. I was just referencing why I don't buy dupe palettes from more expensive palettes from brands like Alter Ego.
The quality of the Lime Crime is great if you like buildable shadows. Plus they are light shades for the most part. I have no issues with these shades blending, going or stayin on at all.
Deze staan al meer dan een week hoor. Doen het super en ik snijd mn tulpen altijd heel kort af omdat ze groeien in de vaas. Heeft weinig te maken met hoeveel water ze hebben.
