As a child I loved Sleeping Beauty and felt like there was something distinctive about it’s artwork that took me into a fairy-world. Thanks for posting!
The art on Sleeping Beauty was my favorite. Even as a kid I thought it was so elegant and magical. The animation gets the most notice and I was always interested in seeing more about the background paintings. Thanks.
I bought this movie on VHS. My favorite memory is STILL to eat chips & salsa & drink in the "lush" details of the rich backgrounds & watch some amazing animation! I've never gotten to see it on the Big screen.

Sleeping beauty was just another princess movie when i was a young boy that didn't care for it. Now as a 28 year old man I told my sister to put Sleeping Beauty. She was confused so i told her & my mom i that appreciate the story and the hand drawn animation that seems to be missing from Disney movies today.
Nice video. I just wish the speakers had been identified! I had no idea who was offering their historical or personal commentary on the man and his work.
His backgrounds gave animators a headache because they were so distinctive and stylized, they required a new style of animation, with characters more pointy and flowy then ever before. One of the art directors openly hated the background style, but Disney liked it so it had to stay.
@@LEE10987 his brothers turned out ok... he also has a mother and a younger brother... they handled the tough love to get to that stratosphere level of fame and wealth on earth. It is what it is, some handle harsh well and some break. He made enough money to see the best help, but he bought exotic animals and destroyed his mind and physical appearance getting caught up in criticism of his fame.
I feel sorry for Eyvind Earle. His father is nothing more than the devil himself😡😡😡😡, I'm glad that he worked at Disney, and making those paintings for Sleeping Beauty😊😊😊
